To ensure your PHILIPS 55OLED770 TV always offers the best possible performance, it will sometimes perform a display clean-up process while in standby. It is important to follow these guidelines:

• If you never put your TV in standby, you will be notified by on-screen messages to execute the clean-up process. Always follow these instructions. Repeatedly postponing this process may result in image retention.

• Your TV should be left in standby to execute the cleaning process in the background.

• Avoid continuously displaying static images or static parts in moving images (like news ticker bars, soccer scores, game HUDs, etc.).

To protect the screen, your PHILIPS 55OLED770 OLED TV needs a refreshing process over time. There are two types:

• Normal refreshing: This occurs automatically and takes a few minutes with the TV in standby mode.

• Deep refreshing: This takes a few minutes and needs to be triggered by the user.

To allow the TV to perform refreshing properly:

• For normal refreshing, always use the remote control to switch off the TV and keep the TV power plugged in.

• When a normal refreshing message appears, follow the on-screen instructions.

• For deep refreshing, you can activate it manually via (Home) > Settings > Screen > OLED screen settings > Clear residual image. A reminder message may also appear. Follow the instructions and keep the TV power plugged in. This should only be done when a residual image is seen on screen even after 8 hours of standby.

• Do not touch or apply pressure to the TV screen during the refreshing process.

To reduce the chances of residual images on the TV screen, the screen saver (a moving logo) will be triggered in the following circumstances:

– When static setting menu elements are shown on screen for more than 2 minutes.

– When static setting menu elements of Apps are shown on screen for more than 2 minutes.

– When Teletext is being displayed for more than 2 minutes.

The screen saver may not be triggered when pausing playback on an external source (e.g., HDMI), as the TV is not displaying static setting menu elements. Once active, the screen saver can be closed by pressing any remote control button.

The remote control uses both Bluetooth and IR (infrared). To use Alexa voice control, you need to pair the TV with the remote. If the pairing was lost, you can pair it again.

You can simply long press the SOURCES (PAIR) key for approximately 3 seconds to start pairing.

Alternatively, follow these steps:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & network > Remote control > Pair remote control.

A message will appear when the pairing is successful. During pairing, keep the remote control within 1m of the TV.

If you lost the remote control or its batteries are empty, you can use the joystick key on the back of the TV for basic operations.

Caution: Wall mounting the TV requires special skills and should only be performed by qualified personnel. The TV wall mounting should meet safety standards according to the TV’s weight.

First, ensure the power cable is plugged into the POWER connector on the back of the TV and into a wall socket.

• Switch On: Press the small joystick key on the back of the TV.

• Switch to Standby: Press the (Standby/On) button on the remote control. You can also press the small joystick key on the back of the TV.

• Switch Off Completely: To switch off the TV completely, disconnect the power plug from the wall socket.

Only the HDMI 2 port on your PHILIPS 55OLED770 supports HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) and eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel). eARC is an advancement that supports the latest high-bitrate audio formats. For eARC, use an Ultra High-speed HDMI cable. Only one eARC device can be used at a time.

To cast streaming content to your TV:

1. Make sure your mobile device and the PHILIPS 55OLED770 TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Launch a casting-enabled app on your mobile device and tap the cast icon.

3. Select PHILIPS_TV_(ModelName) of your TV to start casting.

To watch premium scrambled channels, you need a CI+ module (CAM) and a smart card from your TV operator.

1. First, insert the smart card into the CAM module as per the operator’s instructions.

2. Look on the CAM for the correct method of insertion into the TV. Incorrect insertion can damage the CAM and TV.

3. While looking at the back of the TV, with the front of the CAM facing you, gently insert the CAM into the COMMON INTERFACE slot.

4. Push the CAM in as far as it will go and leave it in the slot permanently.

It may take a few minutes for the CAM to be activated after you switch on the TV.

You can connect a wireless device like a speaker or headphones via Bluetooth. Position the device within 5 meters of the TV.

1. Switch on the Bluetooth device and place it within range.

2. On the TV, select (Home) > Settings > Wireless & Networks and press right.

3. Use the navigation keys to select characters.

4. Select Close when you have finished editing.

You can install or reinstall channels for Antenna or Cable.

Go to (Home) > Settings > Channels > Antenna/Cable installation > Search for channels.

From here you can perform several types of installation:

• Update digital channels: Only adds new digital channels.

• Quick reinstall / Channel reinstall: Installs all channels again with default settings.

• Advanced channel reinstall: A full re-installation that takes you through each step (Antenna/Cable, Digital/Analogue, etc.).

After selecting an option, press OK to start the search, which may take a few minutes.

You can create a list of your favorite channels for easy access.

1. While watching a TV channel, press the Channel list key (or OK) to open the channel list.

2. Select the channel you want to add to favorites.

3. Press Mark as favourites. The selected channel will be marked with a heart icon.

4. To finish, press the Back key. The channels are now added to your Favourites list.

To remove a channel, select it in the list and press Unmark as favourite.

To prevent children from watching a channel, you can lock it. To watch a locked channel, you must enter the 4-digit Child Lock PIN code.

1. While watching TV, press OK to open the channel list.

2. Press OPTIONS.

3. Select Lock channel or Unlock channel.

The locked channel will have a lock icon next to the channel logo.

• Open the TV Guide: Press TV GUIDE on your remote control. Press it again to close.

• Tune to a Programme: From the TV guide, use the arrow keys to highlight a programme name. To switch to that programme, select it and press OK.

• View Programme Details: Highlight a programme and press INFO.

• Change Day: Press Channel up or down to view the schedule for the next or previous days.

• Update TV Guide: Press OPTIONS and select Update TV guide to get the latest programme information.

• Search by Genre: Press OPTIONS and select Search by genre. Select a genre and press OK to see a list of matching programmes.

From a USB Connection:

1. With the TV on, plug a USB flash drive or USB Hard Drive into one of the USB ports.

2. Press SOURCES, then select USB.

From a Computer or NAS:

1. Ensure your TV and computer/NAS are in the same home network and you have Media Server Software installed and configured on your computer/NAS.

2. On the TV, press SOURCES, select Network, and press OK.

3. You can then browse and play your files.

There are two main ways to access settings:

• Quick Menu and Frequent Settings: Press the Quick Menu/MENU key on the remote control to find the Quick Menu. From there, you can access common functions like Help, All settings, Sources, Ambilight Suite, etc. Press the left arrow key to find Frequent settings like Picture style, Sound style, and more.

• All Settings Menu: Press the (Home) key on the remote. You can then access the full Settings menu via the settings icon at the top right corner of the Home screen.

If the picture is not filling the screen or has black bars, you can adjust the picture format.

Go to (Home) > Settings > Screen > Picture format to select one of the basic settings:

• Wide screen: Automatically zooms the picture to 16:9 full screen.

• Fill screen: Automatically enlarges the picture to fill the screen with minimal distortion.

• Fit to screen: Automatically zooms the picture to fill the screen without distortion; black bars may be visible.

• Original: Zooms the picture to fit the screen with its original aspect ratio.

For manual adjustments, go to (Home) > Settings > Screen > Picture format > Advanced where you can Shift, Zoom, or Stretch the picture.

When you encounter image retention on the TV screen, you can clear it by activating this function. This is a deep refreshing process and should only be operated when a residual image is seen on screen even after the TV has been in standby mode for at least 8 hours.

1. Select (Home) > Settings > Screen > OLED Screen Settings.

2. Select Clear residual image.

3. Select Confirm.

The TV will switch off until the process is completed. If you turn the TV on during the process, it will be stopped and will restart automatically the next time the TV enters standby.

This calibration allows the TV to determine the acoustics in your room and provide optimized sound quality from the TV speakers. Before starting, you need to pair your remote control with the TV and ensure the Audio out setting is set to TV speakers. The room should be quiet for an accurate result.

To start the calibration:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Sound > Room calibration.

2. Hold your remote control at your listening position and point it towards the TV.

3. Select Calibrate now to begin. A test sound will be played and measured through your remote control.

4. Once calibration is successful, you can select Test to listen to the before and after sound. Select Apply to accept the new setting.

To get the best sound reproduction according to how your TV is placed, follow these steps:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Sound > TV placement.

2. Select On a TV stand or On the wall based on your setup.

The Hearing Profile setting creates a personal profile based on your hearing abilities by taking a hearing test, enhancing the TV viewing experience.

To start the hearing test:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Sound > Hearing profile > Configure.

2. Before the test, switch your audio out to TV speakers. The test works best in a quiet environment.

3. Select Start and enter a profile name to begin the test.

4. During the test, you will hear beeping sounds. Press the OK button when you hear the beep sound, and press OK when you don’t hear the beep sound. The test repeats 5 times for different tones.

5. Once completed, your hearing test results will be presented. Select Save and exit to store the profile.

You can select how Ambilight follows the content on your screen or turn it off.

Go to (Home) > Settings > Ambilight > Ambilight style.

Select one of the following styles:

• AI: Select for intelligent switching of Ambilight style based on video content.

• Standard: Ideal for day-to-day TV watching.

• Sports: Ideal for sports programmes.

• Cinema: Ideal for movie and home entertainment experience.

• Gaming: Ideal for playing games.

• Music: Follows the dynamics of the sound.

• Fixed colour: Select a static colour of your choice.

• Off: Turns Ambilight off.

Ambilight Suite is an integrated control center for Ambilight features. You can access it by pressing the Quick Menu/MENU key, selecting Ambilight Suite and pressing OK. It allows you to switch between Lounge, Sleep, and Sunrise styles.

• Lounge mode: Switches on Ambilight when the TV is in standby, allowing you to light up your room. You can select preset themes or personalize your own.

• Sleep mode: Simulates a sunset to help you unwind before sleep. At the end of the simulation, the TV will automatically switch to standby.

• Sunrise alarm: Uses Ambilight, music, and weather information for a new wake-up experience. The TV wakes up at a selected time with a fade-in colored screen and music.

Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi):

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wireless (Wi-Fi).

2. In the list of found networks, select your wireless network.

3. Enter your encryption key if required.

4. A message will be shown when the connection is successful.

Wired Connection:

1. Connect your router to the TV with a network cable.

2. Make sure the router is switched on.

3. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wired.

4. The TV will search for the network connection, and a message will appear when it is successful.

To clear your Philips server registration, parental rating settings, video store app logins, App Gallery favorites, Internet bookmarks, and history, follow these steps:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Clear Internet Memory.

This action will also clear ‘cookies’ saved on your TV.

You can manage power settings by going to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Power and energy. Available options include:

• Power-on behaviour: Set the TV to start on the Home screen or on the Last source used.

• Screen off: Select this to switch the TV screen off to save energy (e.g., when listening to music). Press any key (except volume or Ambilight keys) to turn the screen back on.

• Sleep timer: Set the TV to automatically switch to Standby after a preset time (up to 180 minutes).

• Switch off timer: The TV will switch off automatically after 4 hours of inactivity to save energy. You can set this to Off if you use the TV as a monitor.

• No signal timer: Your TV will switch off automatically if there is no signal for 10/15/20 minutes.

To stream media from Apple devices and control your TV via HomeKit, follow these steps:

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit to enter the settings page. Make sure AirPlay is turned On.

2. To add the TV to HomeKit, select Set UP under the HomeKit section to generate a QR code on your TV.

3. On your Apple device, open the Home app, tap Add (+), and then scan the QR code shown on the TV.

4. Follow the instructions on your Apple device to complete the setup.

To ensure the best signal quality for your connected HDMI devices, you can adjust the setting for each HDMI port.

1. Switch to the HDMI source you want to adjust.

2. Go to (Home) > Settings > General settings > HDMI Ultra HD > HDMI (port).

3. Choose from the following options:

• Standard: For older devices that might not work correctly with Ultra HD signals. Supports up to UHD (50Hz or 60Hz) YCbCr 4:2:0.

• Optimal: For the highest quality HDMI signal for 4K content like from a 4K Blu-ray player. Supports up to UHD (100Hz or 120Hz) RGB 4:4:4.

• Optimal (Auto Game 120Hz Pro): Enables TV to support HDMI Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) video and automatically sets Picture/Sound style to Game.

• Automatic: Enables the TV to automatically match the settings to your HDMI device.

Reset to Factory Settings:

This will reset all settings values to the original TV settings.

Go to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Factory settings.

Reinstall TV:

This performs a full TV installation, resetting all settings and replacing installed channels.

1. Go to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Reinstall TV.

2. Enter your PIN code and select Yes. The installation will take a few minutes.

The child lock code is used to lock or unlock channels or programmes.

Go to (Home) > Settings > Child lock > Set code or Change code to set a new code or change the existing one.

Note: If you forget your PIN code, you can override the current code by using 8888 and then entering a new code.

To set the clock, go to (Home) > Settings > Region and language > Clock.

• Correct clock automatically: The standard setting for the TV clock is Automatic in the Auto clock mode menu. Time information comes from the broadcasted UTC information. If this is not correct, you can set it to Country dependent.

• Correct clock manually: If automatic settings are incorrect, you can set the clock manually. Change the Auto clock mode to Manual. Then, in the previous menu, select Date and Time to adjust the values.

With Universal Access switched on, the TV is prepared for use by the deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or partially sighted people.

To switch on universal access settings, go to (Home) > Settings > Universal access > Universal access > On.

Once enabled, you can configure settings such as:

• Hearing impaired: Automatically switches to adapted audio and subtitles if available.

• Audio description: Broadcasts special audio commentary. You can mix the volume of normal and commentary audio.

• Dialogue enhancement: Increases the intelligibility of dialogue.

• Information Display: The bar shows Frame rate (FPS), current profile name, HDMI info, and video source information.

• Game Tools: Contains tools to improve your gaming experience, such as Crosshair, Shadow enhancer, and Colour filter.

• Settings: Select the settings icon on the left of the bar to access quick links to adjust settings like HDMI Ultra HD, Motion, HDR tone mapping, picture settings, and Ambilight style. You can also create and manage up to 8 custom game profiles.

Amazon Alexa Setup:

1. Press Home and open the “Amazon Alexa” app on your TV.

2. Have the Alexa app ready on your mobile device or web browser.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your Amazon account.

4. On your mobile device, sign in with the same Amazon account in the Alexa app and link your TV.

5. Return to the TV and select Finished to start using Alexa.

Google Assistant Setup:

1. On your PHILIPS 55OLED770, follow the on-screen instructions to accept the Privacy Policy.

2. Choose a name for your TV that Google Assistant can recognize.

3. Sign in to your Google account and select “Get Code” to get a device code.

4. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app and sign in with the same Google account.

5. In the Google Home app, select “Set up device,” then ‘Works with Google’ and search for Philips Smart TV. Sign in to link your account and enable TV control.

Update from Internet (Recommended):

1. Ensure your TV is connected to the Internet.

2. Go to (Home) > Settings > Update software > Search for updates > Internet.

3. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions. The TV will switch off and on again during the update; do not press any buttons until the picture comes back up.

Update from USB:

1. On the TV, go to (Home) > Settings > Update software > Search for updates > USB.

2. Insert a USB memory device and select Start. An identification file will be written to the USB.

3. Insert the USB into a computer with an internet connection, locate and double-click the `update.html` file, and click `Send ID`.

4. If new software is available, download the .zip file, unzip it, and copy the `autorun.upg` file to the root of the USB device.

5. Insert the USB memory back into the TV. The update will start automatically.

• Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Wait for one minute then reconnect it. Make sure the power cable is securely connected and try switching on again.

• Connect the TV to another wall mains socket and try switching on.

• Disconnect all connected devices from the TV and try switching on.

• If the standby light on the TV is on, the TV might not be responding to the remote control.

If the TV switches off suddenly, the Switch off timer setting might be enabled. This feature switches the TV off after 4 hours if no remote control signals are received. You can deactivate this feature in the power and energy settings.

Also, if the TV does not receive a TV signal or a remote control command for 10 minutes, it will switch off automatically. This can also be adjusted in the settings.

• Check if the TV was connected with an antenna or is using a provider signal. Check the cable connections.

• Check if the country where you are installing the TV has digital channels available.

• Check if you selected the correct DVB system (DVB-T for terrestrial/antenna, DVB-C for cable).

• Redo the installation and check if you select the correct country and system.

• Check if the antenna or provider signal cable is properly connected.

• Check if the correct source/input is selected in the sources menu. Press SOURCES and select the source/input you need.

• Check if the external device or source is properly connected.

• Change to other video sources and then change back to the current source.

• Try restoring the picture style. Select a Picture style and then select Restore picture style.

• Reset all TV settings by going to (Home) > Settings > General settings > Reinstall TV.

• Check if the sound settings of the TV are correct. Press the volume key or the mute key to ensure the sound is not muted or set to zero.

• If you use a set-top box, check that its volume is not set to zero or muted.

• Check if the TV’s audio signal is properly connected to your Home Theatre System (HTS), if you use one. Ensure the HDMI cable is connected to an HDMI ARC/eARC port.

• Make sure the TV audio output is connected to the audio input on the HTS.

• Check if the firewalls in your network allow access to the TV’s wireless connection.

• If the wireless network does not work properly in your home, try the wired network installation instead.

• If the connection to the router is OK, check the router’s connection to the Internet.

• If the connection is slow, consult your wireless router’s user manual for information on indoor range and signal quality. Use a high-speed (broadband) Internet connection for your router.

• If the connection fails, check the DHCP setting of the router; it should be switched on.

If you have accidentally changed the menu to a language you do not understand, follow these steps to change it back:

1. Press Home and select the Settings icon at the top right corner.

2. Press the down arrow 9 times and press OK.

3. Press OK again to enter Language, select the first item (Menu language), and press OK.
