When using the remote control for your Panasonic CU-E15JKE air conditioner, please observe the following safety precautions:

• Do not attempt to repair the unit by yourself.

To prevent injury or property damage, please follow these cautions for the indoor unit:

• Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

• Do not wash the unit with water, benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Do not use for other purposes such as the preservation of food.

• Do not use any combustible equipment in front of the airflow outlet.

• Do not expose yourself directly to cold air for a long period.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• Aerate the room regularly.

Please observe the following power supply safety measures:

• Do not share the same power outlet with other equipment.

• Do not modify power cords.

• Do not use extension cords.

• Do not operate with wet hands.

• Use the specified supply cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

• This equipment must be earthed and it is strongly recommended to be installed with an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) or Residual Current Device (RCD). Otherwise, it may cause electrical shock or fire in case of malfunction.

• In case of emergency or abnormal conditions (burnt smell, etc.), turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer.

• Switch off the power supply before cleaning or servicing.

• Turn off the power supply if the unit is not used for a long period of time.

• Do not touch the air conditioner during lightning, as it may cause electric shock. Although it has a built-in surge protective device, you may want to disconnect it from the power supply during abnormally strong lightning activity.

For your safety, please adhere to the following precautions for the outdoor unit:

• Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the unit, as rotating parts may cause injury.

• Do not sit or step on the unit, as you may fall down accidentally.

• Do not touch the sharp aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly. Otherwise, leakage may occur.

• After long periods of use, make sure the installation rack is not damaged.

Use the Panasonic CU-E15JKE air conditioner under the following temperature range for Single Split Outdoor Units:

* DBT: Dry bulb temperature

* WBT: Wet bulb temperature

NOTICE: This model is not suitable for 24 hours non-stopping operation in heating mode below -5°C. When the outdoor temperature is below -5°C and you use this model out of the above conditions, the outdoor unit might freeze up and stop operation for protection control.

If your remote control is misplaced or malfunctioning, you can use the Auto OFF/ON button on the indoor unit of your Panasonic CU-E15JKE.

The indicators on the indoor unit of your Panasonic CU-E15JKE provide information about its status:

• PATROL SENSOR: Blue

• POWER: Green

• TIMER: Orange

• QUIET: Orange

• POWERFUL: Orange

• e-ion: Blue

• MILD DRY COOLING: Blue

Here are the primary functions on your remote control:

• OFF/ON: Press to turn the unit on or off.

• TEMP: Press to set the temperature. The selection range is 16°C to 30°C. For energy savings, operate within these recommended temperatures:
– HEAT mode: 20°C ~ 24°C.
– COOL mode: 26°C ~ 28°C.
– DRY mode: 1°C ~ 2°C lower than room temperature.

• MODE: Press to select the operation mode.

– AUTO mode: The unit selects the operation mode every 30 minutes based on temperature settings and room/outdoor temperatures.

– HEAT mode: To enjoy warm air. The power indicator blinks while the unit warms up.

– COOL mode: To enjoy cool air.

– DRY mode: To dehumidify the environment. The unit operates at a low fan speed.

• FAN SPEED: Select from 5 fan speed options. In AUTO, the fan speed is adjusted automatically.

• AIR SWING: Adjust the vertical airflow direction (5 options). In AUTO, the louvers swing up/down automatically.

Your Panasonic CU-E15JKE has several advanced functions for enhanced comfort and air quality:

• e-ion (TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR): Generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and captures dust on the positively charged e-ion filters.

• PATROL (TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY): The patrol sensor detects air quality. If unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation starts automatically.

• MILD DRY COOLING (TO IMPROVE HUMIDITY AND MOISTURE LEVEL): This function reduces air dryness for a more comfortable environment. It is only available in COOL mode.

• QUIET (TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT): This operation reduces airflow noise.

• POWERFUL (TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY): Quickly cools or heats the room.

Note on function combinations:

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode.

• PATROL or MILD DRY COOLING cannot be selected at the same time as QUIET or POWERFUL.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is off, but fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted in this state.

To set the timer to turn the unit ON or OFF at a preset time, follow these steps:

1. Press the ON or OFF button in the TIMER section to select which timer you want to set.

2. Use the arrow buttons to set the desired time.

3. Press SET to confirm.

To cancel the ON or OFF timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF button, then press CANCEL.

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) than the set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote control and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is cancelled manually or due to a power failure, you can restore the previous setting by pressing SET once power is resumed.

You can customize several settings on your Panasonic CU-E15JKE:

• Disable/Restore Automatic Patrol: Press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds, then release.

• Dim Indicator Brightness: Press and hold the up arrow (temp) for 5 seconds to dim or restore the unit’s indicator brightness.

• Change Temperature Unit: Press and hold the down arrow (temp) for approximately 10 seconds to show the temperature setting in °C or °F.

• Change Time Format: Press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds to show 12-hour (am/pm) or 24-hour time indication.

• Restore Remote Control Default Settings: Press the RC RESET button.

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance. Always switch off the power supply before cleaning and do not touch the aluminum fin to avoid injury.

Washing Instructions:

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

Cleaning Procedures:

• Front Panel: Raise and pull to remove the front panel. Wash it gently and dry it. Press down both ends of the panel to close it securely.

• e-ion Filters: Clean the filters regularly. Wash/rinse them gently with water. Dry the filters thoroughly in the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight. Replace any damaged filter.

• e-ion Charging Wire & Indoor Unit: Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

• Active e-ion Generator: Clean with a dry cotton bud. Cleaning is recommended every 6 months.

For Seasonal Inspection After Extended Non-Use:

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Ensure there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button on the unit to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes, it is normal to have the following temperature difference between air inlet and outlet vents:
– Cooling: ≥ 8°C
– Heating: ≥ 14°C

For Extended Non-Use:

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

Turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer if you experience any of the following non-serviceable criteria:

• Abnormal noise during operation.

• Water/foreign particles have entered the remote control.

• Water leaks from the Indoor unit.

• The circuit breaker switches off frequently.

• The power cord becomes unnaturally warm.

• Switches or buttons are not functioning properly.

The following symptoms do not necessarily indicate a malfunction with your Panasonic CU-E15JKE:

Before calling for service, please check the following points:

If the unit stops and the timer indicator blinks, you can use the remote control to retrieve the error code.

1. Press and hold the CHECK button (located in the timer section, may require a pin) for 5 seconds.

2. Press the up/down timer arrow buttons until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the error code displayed on the remote.

3. Press the CHECK button again for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and provide the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may be able to restart the unit with limited operation, and it will emit 4 beeps when it starts.

Follow these steps to prepare your remote control:

1. Pull out the back cover of the remote.

2. Insert AAA or R03 batteries. They can be used for approximately 1 year.

3. Close the cover.

4. Press CLOCK.

5. Use the arrow buttons to set the current time.

6. Press SET to confirm.
