To prevent personal injury, injury to others, or property damage, please observe the following safety precautions.

Remote Control:

• Do not use rechargeable (Ni-Cd) batteries.

• Do not allow infants and small children to play with the remote control to prevent them from accidentally swallowing the batteries.

• Remove the batteries if the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time.

• New batteries of the same type must be inserted following the polarity stated to prevent malfunction of the remote control.

Power Supply:

• Do not share the same power outlet with other equipment.

• Do not modify power cords or use extension cords.

• Do not operate with wet hands.

• This equipment must be earthed and it is strongly recommended to be installed with an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) or Residual Current Device (RCD).

• In case of emergency or abnormal conditions (e.g., burnt smell), turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer.

• Switch off the power supply before cleaning or servicing.

Indoor Unit:

• Do not install, remove, or reinstall the unit by yourself. Please consult an authorized dealer for installation work.

• Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the unit, as rotating parts may cause injury.

• Do not attempt to repair the unit by yourself.

• Do not install the unit in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

• Do not wash the unit with water, benzene, thinner or scouring powder.

• Do not expose yourself directly to cold air for a long period.

• Ensure that the drainage pipe is connected properly to prevent leakage.

Outdoor Unit:

• Do not insert your fingers or other objects into the unit.

• Do not sit or step on the unit.

• Do not touch the sharp aluminium fin.

• After long periods of use, make sure the installation rack is not damaged.

Use the PANASONIC CU-E15JKE-1 air conditioner under the following temperature ranges. Operating the unit within the recommended temperature could induce energy savings.

DBT: Dry bulb temperature

WBT: Wet bulb temperature

Note: This model is not suitable for 24-hour non-stopping operation in heating mode below -5°C. When the outdoor temperature is below -5°C and you use this model outside of the above conditions, the outdoor unit might freeze up and stop operation for protection control.

Multi air conditioner systems save space by letting you connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

• It is possible to operate the indoor units individually or simultaneously. The operation mode priority is given to the first unit that is turned on.

• During operation, heating and cooling modes cannot be activated at the same time for different indoor units. The power indicator blinks to indicate the indoor unit is standing by for a different operation mode.

• PATROL and e-ion operations can be activated even when the air conditioner is turned off. In this condition, once the e-ion indicator is ON, the unit will operate with AUTO fan speed and air swing. However, this operation cannot be activated or will be deactivated if another indoor unit is activating heating mode.

The Auto OFF/ON button on the indoor unit can be used when the remote control is misplaced or malfunctions.

The indicator lights on the front of the unit provide status information:

• PATROL SENSOR: (Blue)

• POWER: (Green)

• TIMER: (Orange)

• QUIET: (Orange)

• POWERFUL: (Orange)

• e-ion: (Blue)

• MILD DRY COOLING: (Blue)

Press the MODE button on the remote control to select the desired operation mode.

• AUTO mode: The unit selects the operation mode every 30 minutes (Single Split) or 3 hours (Multi Split) based on temperature settings and room/outdoor temperature. The power indicator blinks during mode selection.

• HEAT mode: To enjoy warm air. The unit takes a while to warm up, and the power indicator blinks during this operation.

• COOL mode: To enjoy cool air.

• DRY mode: To dehumidify the environment. The unit operates at a low fan speed for a gentle cooling operation.

Fan Speed:

Press the FAN SPEED button to select from 5 options. For AUTO fan speed, the indoor fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the operation mode.

Vertical Airflow Direction:

Press the AIR SWING button to adjust the vertical airflow direction (5 options). This keeps the room ventilated. If AUTO is set, the louvers swing up/down automatically. In heat mode, the air blows horizontally for a while, then starts to blow downwards.

Horizontal Airflow Direction:

The horizontal airflow direction louver can be manually adjusted.

• e-ion (TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR): Press the e-ion button. This generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and captures dust in the e-ion filters.

• PATROL (TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY): Press the PATROL button. The patrol sensor detects air quality. If unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation will start automatically.

• MILD DRY COOLING (TO IMPROVE HUMIDITY – For Single Split System): Press the MILD DRY COOLING button. This operation reduces air dryness and can only be activated in COOL mode.

• QUIET (TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT): Press the QUIET button. This operation reduces airflow noise.

• POWERFUL (TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY): Press the POWERFUL button.

Function Compatibility:

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode.

• PATROL, e-ion and MILD DRY COOLING, or QUIET and POWERFUL cannot be selected at the same time.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is turned off, but fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted in this state.

To set the timer to turn the unit ON or OFF at a preset time:

1. Press the ON or OFF button under the TIMER section to select the ON or OFF timer.

2. Use the arrow buttons to set the desired time.

3. Press SET to confirm.

To cancel the timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF timer button, then press CANCEL.

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) than the set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is cancelled manually or due to a power failure, you can restore the previous setting by pressing SET once power is resumed.

• Disable/Restore Automatic Patrol: Press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds, then release.

• Dim/Restore Indicator Brightness: Press and hold the down arrow (TEMP) button for 5 seconds.

• Change Temperature Display (°C/°F): Press and hold the up arrow (TEMP) button for approximately 10 seconds.

• Change Time Format (12/24-hour): Press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds.

• Restore Remote Control Default Settings: Press the RC RESET button.

Always switch off the power supply before cleaning. Do not touch the aluminium fin as sharp parts may cause injury.

General Washing Instructions:

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

Front Panel:

1. Raise and pull to remove the front panel.

2. Wash it gently and dry it.

3. Press down on both ends of the panel to close it securely.

e-ion Filters:

1. Clean the filters regularly.

2. Wash/rinse the filters gently with water to avoid damage.

3. Dry the filters thoroughly in the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.

4. Replace any damaged filter.

Active e-ion Generator:

Clean with a dry cotton bud. It is recommended to clean the generator every 6 months.

Indoor Unit:

Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

For Seasonal Inspection After Extended Non-Use:

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Ensure there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes, it is normal to have a temperature difference between air inlet and outlet vents of: Cooling: ≥ 8°C; Heating: ≥ 14°C.

For Extended Non-Use:

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

The following symptoms do not indicate a malfunction:

Use the remote control to retrieve the error code:

1. Press and hold the down arrow (CANCEL) button for 5 seconds.

2. Press the arrow buttons until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the error code displayed.

3. Press and hold the down arrow (CANCEL) button for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and provide the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may restart the unit with limited operation, which is indicated by 4 beeps when the operation starts.

1. Pull out the back cover of the remote control.

2. Insert AAA or R03 batteries. They can be used for approximately 1 year.

3. Close the cover.

4. Press the CLOCK button.

5. Use the arrow buttons to set the current time.

6. Press SET (or CLOCK again depending on the model) to confirm.
