Use the PANASONIC CU-E12JKE air conditioner within the following temperature ranges for optimal performance.

Single Split Outdoor Unit (CU-E7JKE, CU-E9JKE, CU-E12JKE, CU-E15JKE, CU-E15JKE-1)

Multi Split Outdoor Unit

* DBT: Dry bulb temperature

* WBT: Wet bulb temperature

This model is not suitable for 24-hour non-stopping operation in heating mode below -5°C. When the outdoor temperature is below -5°C and you use this model outside of the recommended conditions, the outdoor unit might freeze up and stop operation for protection control.

Multi air conditioner systems allow you to connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

• It is possible to operate the indoor units individually or simultaneously. The operation mode priority is given to the first unit that is turned on.

• During operation, heating and cooling modes cannot be activated at the same time for different indoor units. The power indicator will blink to indicate that an indoor unit is on standby for a different operation mode.

Caution: PATROL and e-ion operations can be activated even when the air conditioner is turned off. In this state, if the e-ion indicator is ON, the unit will operate with AUTO fan speed and air swing. However, this operation cannot be activated or will be deactivated if another indoor unit is using the heating mode.

You can use the Auto OFF/ON button on the indoor unit when the remote control is misplaced or malfunctioning.

The indicator lights on your PANASONIC CU-E12JKE provide information about its current status:

• PATROL SENSOR: Blue

• POWER: Green

• TIMER: Orange

• QUIET: Orange

• POWERFUL: Orange

• e-ion: Blue

• MILD DRY COOLING: Blue

Press the MODE button on your remote to select the desired operation mode.

• AUTO mode – For your convenience:

– The power indicator blinks during mode selection.

– For a Single Split System, the unit selects the operation mode every 30 minutes based on the temperature setting, outdoor, and room temperature.

– For a Multi Split System, the unit selects the operation mode every 3 hours based on the temperature setting, outdoor, and room temperature.

• HEAT mode – To enjoy warm air:

– The unit takes a while to warm up. The power indicator blinks during this operation.

• COOL mode – To enjoy cool air.

• DRY mode – To dehumidify the environment:

– The unit operates at a low fan speed to provide a gentle cooling operation.

To save energy, operate the unit within the recommended temperature ranges:

• HEAT mode: 20°C ~ 24°C

• COOL mode: 26°C ~ 28°C

• DRY mode: 1°C ~ 2°C lower than room temperature.

Fan Speed (5 Options):

Press the FAN SPEED button to select your desired fan speed. When set to AUTO, the indoor fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the operation mode.

Vertical Airflow Direction (5 Options):

Press the AIR SWING button to adjust the vertical airflow direction.

• This keeps the room ventilated.

• If AUTO is set, the louvers swing up/down automatically.

• In heat mode, the air blows horizontally for a while, then starts to blow downwards.

Horizontal Airflow Direction:

The horizontal airflow direction louver is manually adjustable.

Your PANASONIC CU-E12JKE remote control has several special functions:

• e-ion (TO ENJOY CLEAN & FRESH AIR): Generates negative ions to produce a fresh air effect and attract dust, which is then captured by the positively charged e-ion filters.

• PATROL (TO MONITOR AIR QUALITY): The patrol sensor detects air quality. If the quality is unsatisfactory, the e-ion operation will start automatically.

• MILD DRY COOLING (TO IMPROVE HUMIDITY – For single Split System): Reduces air dryness for a more comfortable environment. When vertical airflow is set to AUTO, it stops at a lower position to avoid direct cold air contact, but you can adjust it manually.

• QUIET (TO ENJOY QUIET ENVIRONMENT): This operation reduces airflow noise.

• POWERFUL (TO ACHIEVE TEMPERATURE QUICKLY): Rapidly cools or heats the room to the desired temperature.

• PATROL, e-ion, QUIET, and POWERFUL can be activated in all modes and can be canceled by pressing the respective button again.

• MILD DRY COOLING can only be activated in COOL mode and can be canceled by pressing the button again.

• PATROL, e-ion, or MILD DRY COOLING cannot be selected at the same time as QUIET and POWERFUL.

• PATROL and e-ion can be activated even when the unit is turned off. In this condition, the fan speed and air swing cannot be adjusted.

To turn the unit ON or OFF at a preset time, follow these steps:

1. Select ON or OFF timer.

2. Set the desired time.

3. Confirm the setting by pressing SET.

To cancel the ON or OFF timer, press the corresponding ON or OFF button, then press CANCEL.

Notes:

• When the ON Timer is set, the unit may start earlier (up to 35 minutes) than the set time to achieve the desired temperature on time.

• Timer operation is based on the clock set in the remote control and repeats daily once set.

• If the timer is canceled manually or due to a power failure, you can restore the previous setting by pressing SET once power is resumed.

You can access optional settings by pressing and holding certain buttons on the remote control:

• Disable/Restore Patrol Auto-Start: Press and hold the PATROL button for 5 seconds, then release. This setting controls whether Patrol starts automatically when the unit is switched on with the OFF/ON button.

• Dim/Restore Indicator Brightness: Press and hold the fan icon button for 5 seconds.

• Change Temperature Unit (°C/°F): Press and hold the down arrow TEMP button for approximately 10 seconds.

• Change Time Format (12/24-hour): Press and hold the CLOCK button for approximately 5 seconds.

• Restore Remote Control Default Settings: Press the RC RESET button.

Before cleaning, always switch off the power supply. Do not touch the aluminum fin, as sharp parts may cause injury.

• Do not use benzene, thinner, or scouring powder.

• Use only soap (approx. pH7) or neutral household detergent.

• Do not use water hotter than 40°C.

Hint: For optimal performance, cleaning maintenance should be carried out at regular intervals. A dirty unit may cause a malfunction and retrieve the error code “H99”. Please consult an authorized dealer.

FRONT PANEL

• Remove: Raise and pull to remove the front panel.

• Wash gently and dry.

• Close: Press down both ends of the front panel to close it securely.

e-ion FILTERS

• Clean the filters regularly.

• Wash/rinse the filters gently with water to avoid damage.

• Dry the filters thoroughly under the shade, away from fire or direct sunlight.

• Replace any damaged filter.

ACTIVE e-ion GENERATOR

• Clean with a dry cotton bud. Cleaning is recommended every 6 months.

INDOOR UNIT

• Wipe the unit gently with a soft, dry cloth.

• Check the remote control batteries.

• Ensure there is no obstruction at the air inlet and air outlet vents.

• Use the Auto OFF/ON button on the unit to select Cooling/Heating operation. After 15 minutes, it is normal to have the following temperature difference between air inlet and outlet vents:

– Cooling: ≥ 8°C

– Heating: ≥ 14°C

• Activate Heat mode for 2-3 hours to remove moisture left in the internal parts thoroughly.

• Turn off the power supply.

• Remove the remote control batteries.

Turn off the power supply and consult an authorized dealer under the following conditions:

• Abnormal noise during operation.

• Water/foreign particles have entered the remote control.

• Water leaks from the Indoor unit.

• The circuit breaker switches off frequently.

• The power cord becomes unnaturally warm.

• Switches or buttons are not functioning properly.

Use the remote control to retrieve the error code:

1. Press and hold the CHECK button for 5 seconds.

2. Press the up/down arrow buttons until you hear a beep sound, then jot down the error code.

3. Press the CHECK button again for 5 seconds to quit checking.

4. Turn the unit off and provide the error code to an authorized dealer.

Note: For certain errors, you may restart the unit with limited operation, which will be indicated by 4 beeps when operation starts.
