When using your OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT, always follow these basic safety precautions to reduce risks of fire, electric shock, and injury:

• To prevent damage to the compressor, each start is delayed by 3 minutes from the last time it was switched off.

• Read the manual carefully before any operation and follow all instructions.

• Keep the manual for future reference.

• After unpacking, check that the appliance is in perfect condition. Keep packaging materials away from children.

• Use only original OLIMPIA SPLENDID parts for any replacements.

• Disconnect the power supply if the unit is unused for a long period.

• Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. See the appropriate paragraph for filter cleaning.

• Regularly remove dust or lint deposits by disconnecting the appliance and vacuuming the grids.

• Install the appliance at least 2 meters from other electronic devices (TV, radio, computer, etc.) to avoid disturbances.

To ensure safe operation of your OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT, you must avoid the following actions:

• Do not wet the indoor unit or the remote control.

• Do not disconnect the power plug while the appliance is functioning.

• Do not obstruct the air inlet and outlet grids in any manner.

• Do not insert extraneous items into the grids.

• Do not use the appliance with wet or damp hands, or when barefoot.

• Do not use tools different from those recommended by the manufacturer for defrosting or cleaning.

Proper Use:

• The OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT must be used exclusively to produce cold air or to dehumidify air for the sole purpose of making the environment temperature comfortable.

• This appliance is intended only for domestic use or similar.

• Only use supplied components. Using non-standard parts may cause water leaks, electric shocks, fires, and injuries.

Hazardous Zones (Where not to install):

The appliance must not be installed in the following environments:

• Areas with inflammable or explosive gases.

• Very humid environments like laundries or greenhouses.

• Places with other machines that generate a strong heat source.

• In proximity to sources of salt water or sulphurous water.

Additionally, DO NOT use gas, gasoline, or other inflammable liquids near the appliance.

The OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT uses R290 refrigerant gas, and you must follow these specific warnings:

1. The appliance contains R290 gas (Flammability Classification A3).

2. It must be stored in a well-ventilated area where the room size corresponds to the area specified for operation.

3. The appliance must be installed, used, and stored in a room with a floor surface larger than the minimum size indicated in the chart below.

4. The appliance contains a quantity of R290 gas equal to the one indicated on its data label.

5. Store the appliance in a room without continuously operating ignition sources (e.g., open flames, an operating gas appliance, or an operating electric heater).

6. Do not pierce or burn the appliance.

7. Be aware that refrigerants may not have an odour.

8. R290 is a refrigerant gas compliant with European environmental directives. Do not pierce any part of the refrigerant circuit.

9. Do not use means to accelerate defrosting or to clean other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

10. If the appliance is installed, used, or stored in a non-ventilated area, the room must be designed to prevent the accumulation of refrigerant leaks, which could lead to fire or explosion hazards.

• Transport and handling of the appliance must be carried out in a vertical position.

• If it is transported in a horizontal position, you must wait at least one hour before starting it.

• Before moving or transporting the appliance, completely drain the condensation water as described in paragraph 4.2.a of the manual.

CAUTION for moving on delicate flooring (e.g., wooden flooring):

• Completely drain condensation.

• Take great care when moving the conditioner as the wheels could mark the flooring. Although the wheels are rigid and swivelling, they could get damaged by use or excessive dirt.

• It is recommended to check that the wheels are clean and can move freely.

To set up a mobile installation for your OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT, follow these steps. It is recommended to reduce solar radiation by using curtains or blinds and keeping doors and windows closed.

a. Position the air conditioner in front of a window or French window.

b. Attach the machine side terminal (2) to the flexible hose (1) as shown in Fig. 8.

c. Attach the terminal (3) to the opposite side of the flexible hose (1) as shown in Fig. 8.

d. Insert the machine side terminal (2) into the air outlet grid (26) on the appliance, as shown in Fig. 9.

e. Position the terminal (3) to vent the air to the exterior, as shown in Fig. 10.

f. If you have a sliding window (vertical or horizontal) or a shutter, you can use the supplied “SLIDER KIT” (4) for a more efficient installation. Follow the diagrams in figures 11 and 12 for this setup.

g. Apply the adhesive seal (8) (Fig. 12).

h. Position the “SLIDER KIT” (4) and adjust it to fit your window (Fig. 12).

i. Connect the flexible hose (1) and apply the seal (9) (Fig. 12).

Note: Extend the pipe only to the necessary extent, so that the air conveyor remains closed between the fixture shutters.

The OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT can be installed with a fixed hole in a window or wall. Ensure air flow is not obstructed by mesh and has a total cross-section of not less than 140 cm².

a. Attach the machine side terminal (2) to the flexible hose (1) as shown in Fig. 8.

b. Drill a 127 mm hole in the glass or wall at a height between 300 and 1200 mm from the floor (Fig. 13).

c. Position the terminal (6) in the wall hole and mark the drilling points.

d. Remove the terminal (6) and drill 6 mm holes.

e. Insert the supplied wallplugs (10) into the holes.

f. Position the terminal (6) in the hole and fix it with the supplied screws (10).

g. Insert the machine side terminal (2) into the air outlet grid (26) on the appliance (Fig. 9).

h. Connect the other end of the flexible hose (1) to the terminal (6) (Fig. 14).

i. Insert the flange (7) into the terminal (6) and close the cap (7a) when the appliance is not running (Fig. 14).

The appliance is fitted with a power cable and plug. Before connecting the OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT, ensure that:

• The voltage and power frequency values match those specified on the appliance’s data plate.

• The power line is equipped with an effective earth (ground) connection and is correctly sized for the maximum power consumption of the air conditioner.

• The appliance’s power network must have a suitable omnipolar disconnection device compliant with national installation regulations.

• The appliance is powered solely through a socket compatible with the provided plug.

CAUTION: Any replacement of the power cable must be carried out solely by Olimpia Splendid technical support or by similarly qualified personnel.

To use your OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT in dehumidifier mode, you need to connect the condensation discharge pipe. Follow these steps (referencing figures 15 and 16):

a. Remove the cap (28) from the condensate drain.

b. Insert the supplied pipe (12) into the connector.

Ensure the end of the discharge pipe (12) is positioned over a drain well or in a container. Make sure the pipe (12) is not clogged.

The remote control allows you to operate the OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT comfortably. Handle it with care:

• Keep it dry and do not clean it with water or leave it outdoors in bad weather.

• Avoid dropping or bumping it.

• Keep it out of direct sunlight.

The remote operates via an infrared beam. For it to work correctly:

• There must not be any obstacles between the remote control and the air conditioner.

• Be aware that other appliances with remote controls (TV, stereo, etc.) or electronic and fluorescent lights may cause interference.

• For best results, keep the remote within approximately 8 meters of the appliance’s receiver (29).

• Remove the batteries if you will not be using the remote for a long period.

Inserting/Replacing Batteries:

1. Remove the battery compartment cover (figure 17).

2. Insert two new dry alkaline 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring you match the polarity indicated on the bottom of the compartment (figure 17).

3. Close the compartment correctly (figure 18).

Replace batteries when the “low battery” icon appears on the display. Always use new batteries and replace both at the same time. Using old or different batteries could cause the remote to malfunction.

Before operating your OLIMPIA SPLENDID DOLCECLIMA COMPACT, perform the following preliminary operations:

• Place the appliance on a stable and not inclined base, at least 30 cm from any wall or other object to ensure correct air circulation.

• Place it on a water-resistant surface, as possible water leakage could damage furniture or the floor. Do not place it directly on carpets, towels, or other absorbent surfaces.

• Insert the plug into the power socket. The appliance will emit a “beep”, and the display will show the standby icon and the current room temperature in °C.

Before connecting, always ensure the data on the appliance’s plate corresponds to your electricity distribution network.

You can select operating modes using the B2 button on the remote or the SW2 button on the control panel.

Switching On/Off:

Press B1 on the remote or SW1 on the control panel to switch the appliance ON or OFF for short periods. For long periods, unplug it from the mains supply.

Ventilation Mode (FAN):

This mode circulates air without changing the temperature or humidity. Select it by pressing the mode button until the fan symbol appears. The internal fan is always on, and you can select the speed using key B6 on the remote control.

Cooling Mode (COOL):

This mode cools and dehumidifies the room. Select it by pressing the mode button until the cooling symbol appears. The internal fan runs at automatic speed or the speed you select on the remote. You can adjust the temperature set-point from 17°C to 30°C using B4/B5 on the remote or SW3/SW4 on the panel. The compressor will start after a maximum of three minutes.

Dehumidification Mode (DRY):

Select this mode by pressing the mode button until the dehumidification symbol (a water drop) appears. This mode is similar to cooling, but fan speed selection is not active and the set temperature equals the ambient temperature. For this mode, you can operate the appliance with only the condensate drain pipe connected (12) and without the flexible air expulsion hose.

Auto Mode (Automatic):

Select this mode by pressing the mode button until “AUTO” is displayed. The appliance automatically selects COOLING and FAN functions based on the room temperature to maintain a comfortable level.

NIGHT FUNCTION:

This mode can only be selected from the remote control by pressing B10 (SLEEP) and can only be used in conjunction with cooling and automatic modes.

• When enabled, the fan runs at automatic speed.

• The set room temperature automatically increases by 1°C after 30 minutes, and by another 1°C after another 30 minutes.

• After 7 hours, the initial temperature is automatically restored.

• The night function is disabled if the set temperature is modified, the appliance is put in standby, or the power is disconnected. Press the B10 button again to deactivate it.

TIMER MODE:

This mode allows you to program the switching on or switching off of the appliance. The delay time is set via the remote control.

Programmed Switching On:

1. Select the desired operating mode, temperature, and ventilation speed.

2. Press B7 (TIMER ON) to set the desired time delay (from 0.5 to 24 hours) after which the unit will switch ON. The setting will terminate automatically if no button is pressed within 5 seconds.

3. To cancel, press button B7 again until a value of 0 is set.

Programmed Switching Off:

1. With the unit in any working mode, press B8 (TIMER OFF) to set the desired time delay (from 0.5 to 24 hours) after which the unit will switch OFF. Each press increases the delay by 1 hour.

2. The setting will terminate automatically if no button is pressed within 5 seconds.

3. To cancel, press button B8 again until a value of 0 is set.

Before any maintenance or cleaning, always disconnect the power plug from the socket.

Cleaning the Appliance and Remote Control:

• Use a dry cloth to clean the appliance and remote. For heavy dirt, you can use a cloth moistened with cold water.

• Do not use a chemically treated or antistatic cloth.

• Do not use gasoline, solvent, polish, or similar solvents as they can damage the plastic surface.

Cleaning the Suction Filter (Fig. 20):

Cleaning the air filters regularly is vital for efficiency. The ‘Fi’ alarm message will appear on the display when cleaning is needed.

a. Switch off the conditioner and remove the filter as shown in figure 20.

b. Wash the filter with a water jet aimed at the side opposite the dust accumulation.

c. For difficult dirt like grease, immerse the filter in a solution of water and neutral detergent.

d. Shake off any water before reinserting the filter.

e. Ensure the filter is completely dry before repositioning it.

f. Correctly reposition the filter (23) in its seat.

g. Suck any possible fluff from the grille (Fig. 21).

Important: Do not use the appliance without the filter (23). Replace the filter if it is damaged.

Follow these simple recommendations to reduce energy consumption:

• Always and constantly keep the filters clean (see the maintenance and cleaning chapter).

• Keep the doors and windows of the rooms to be climate-controlled closed.

• Do not let sun rays penetrate freely into the room. It is recommended to use curtains, lower blinds, or close the shutters.

• Do not obstruct the air flow path (input and output) of the appliance. This not only affects performance but can also cause damage to the appliance itself.

If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long period, follow these steps:

a. Activate the fan-only mode for a few hours (approximately 8-10 hours) to dry the interior of the appliance.

b. Stop the air conditioner and disconnect the power supply.

c. Clean the air filter.

d. Completely discharge any condensation.

e. Remove the batteries from the remote control.

Before resuming use:

a. Clean the filters.

b. Check that the air outlet and inlet are not obstructed.

During operation, a few anomalies can cause error codes to appear on the control panel.

• P1: Lower tray full. This means condensation has reached the predetermined level. You need to discharge the water.
1. Disconnect the plug from the power socket.
2. Carefully move the appliance to a suitable position to unload water.
3. Remove the drain cap (24) and the rubber cap (24a) (Fig. 22) to let the water out.
4. Once empty, reposition the rubber cap (24a) and screw the drain cap (24) back on tightly to avoid leaks (Fig. 23).
5. Insert the plug into the power socket.
If the error repeats, contact an Assistance Centre.

• F1: Filters cleaning. This is a reminder to clean the suction filter.

• E1, E2, E3, E4: These codes indicate other internal errors. In these cases:
a. Electrically disconnect the appliance.
b. Wait a few minutes.
c. Connect the plug to the power socket.
d. Restart the appliance.
If the inconvenience persists and the error code does not turn off, electrically disconnect the appliance and refer to an Assistance Centre.
