9. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
10. Do not handle the plug or appliance with wet hands.

What are the main cautions to observe when using the NUTONE NCKIT1500HD?
When operating your NUTONE NCKIT1500HD, please observe the following cautions:
1. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
2. Ensure air flows freely and exhausts are unobstructed from the top or side outlet.
3. Do not use without a filter in place.
4. Do not use to blow leaves or debris.
5. Do not place any object on top of the unit.

11. Do not unplug the unit by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
12. Store your vacuum cleaner indoors in a clean, dry area, and away from extreme temperatures.
13. Any servicing other than that recommended in this manual should be performed by an authorized service facility.
14. We recommend that your unit be inspected by a specialized technician once a year.
How do I operate the NUTONE NCKIT1500HD central vacuum system?
To operate your NUTONE NCKIT1500HD, open the wall inlet cover and insert the end of the hose into the inlet. This will turn on the vacuum.
For non-switched hoses, inserting the hose automatically turns on the power unit, and removing it shuts off the power unit. Some hoses have switches that can be used to activate the power unit. The ON/OFF switch located on the power unit needs to be kept in the OFF position.
As you vacuum, dirt and dust are carried to the power unit where they remain in the disposable bag. Use the cleaning tools as you would for any other vacuum cleaner. Avoid picking up very large or lengthy debris, as these objects may become lodged in the hose or tubing.
When should I change the disposable bag on my NUTONE NCKIT1500HD?
The NUTONE NCKIT1500HD has a 6 U.S. gallons (22.7 liters) capacity. Under normal conditions, the disposable bag requires changing approximately twice a year. If the bag is full, you will notice a reduced suction from the system. Unless this loss of suction is caused by a blockage, changing the bag will solve the problem.
NOTE: Even if not filled to capacity, if the bag seems tightly stretched when removing the debris pail, changing the bag will prevent it from tearing.
How do I replace the disposable bag in my NUTONE NCKIT1500HD?
1. To remove the disposable bag, release both latches on the sides of the unit by pulling out and then pushing up. Remove the pail from the unit. Grasp the edges of the bag collar and pull down. The bag will slide off easily. Do not pull on the bag itself.
2. Unfold the new bag.
3. Grasp the collar where indicated on the new bag and insert it over the bag adapter. Be careful not to tear the bag. Ensure the collar is positioned between the taper ring and the bag stopper on the bag adapter. Put the pail back in its place.
How do I clean the motor foam filter on my NUTONE NCKIT1500HD?
The motor foam safety filter on your NUTONE NCKIT1500HD protects the motor from dirt if the disposable bag is accidentally torn. This filter should be checked and cleaned when a replacement bag is installed.
Removing the Filter:
Remove the debris pail and disposable bag. Lift the center of the wire retaining the motor foam filter and slide the filter out of its location.
Cleaning the Filter:
Simply brush the filter clean. If the filter is excessively soiled, hand wash it in a water and mild detergent solution, rinse, and let it dry completely on a flat surface before reinstalling.
Reinstalling the Filter:
To reinstall the motor foam filter, reverse the removal steps.
CAUTION: Operating the power unit without the motor foam filter will void the warranty.
How do I connect the hose to the wall inlet for my NUTONE NCKIT1500HD system?
The connection method depends on the type of hose included with your NUTONE NCKIT1500HD kit.
For a Low Voltage Hose:
To ensure proper operation, insert the hose into the wall inlet. Align the tab on the hose end up with the depression in the wall inlet (A).
For a Dual Voltage Hose (Electric Kits):
In addition to connecting the hose into the wall inlet (A), the dual voltage hose must also be connected to a standard electrical outlet (B).
How do I use the operating switch on the handle of my NUTONE NCKIT1500HD hose?
The function of the handle switch depends on your hose type.
Low Voltage Hose:
The switch will turn the power unit ON (I position) and OFF (O position).
Dual Voltage Hose (for Electric Kits):
The switch has three positions:
• Switch on II position: Central vacuum mode with power brush.
• Switch on I position: Central vacuum mode without power brush.
• Switch on O (center) position: Power unit is turned OFF.
