To install the SIM card and battery in the NOKIA 2700, follow these steps:

Step 1. Ensure the device is switched off and disconnected from any charger.

Step 2. Press and slide the back cover toward the bottom of the phone to remove it.

Step 3. Remove the battery if it is already inside.

Step 4. Insert the SIM card into the holder with the contact surface facing down.

Step 5. Insert the battery by aligning the contacts and pressing it into place.

Step 6. Replace the back cover and slide it into position.

The NOKIA 2700 supports microSD cards with a capacity of up to 2 GB. Use the following procedures for card management:

Inserting a microSD card:

Step 1. Open the cover of the memory card slot located on the side of the device.

Step 2. Insert the card with the contact surface facing up.

Step 3. Press the card until it locks into place, then close the slot cover.

Removing a microSD card:

Step 1. You can remove the card while the phone is on, but ensure no application is currently accessing the card to prevent data corruption.

Step 2. Open the slot cover and press the card slightly to release it.

Step 3. Slide the card out and close the cover.

Step 1. Connect the charger to a wall outlet.

Step 2. Connect the charger lead to the charger connector on the NOKIA 2700.

Step 3. When the device indicates a full charge, disconnect the charger from the device and then from the wall outlet.

Note: If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator appears on the display.

To prevent accidental keypresses on the NOKIA 2700:

To lock: Select Menu and press the * key within 3.5 seconds.

To unlock: Select Unlock and press the * key within 1.5 seconds. If a security keyguard is active, enter the security code when prompted.

To set automatic locking: Select Menu, then Settings, then Phone, then Automatic keyguard, and set it to On. You can then define a preset time after which the keypad locks automatically when in standby mode.

The NOKIA 2700 utilizes several codes for security and service access:

Security Code: The preset code is 12345. This helps protect your phone against unauthorized use.

PIN Code: Supplied with your SIM card to protect it against unauthorized use.

PUK/PUK2 Codes: Required if you enter the PIN or PIN2 code incorrectly three times in a row. Contact your service provider if you do not have these.

To manage these codes, navigate to Menu, then Settings, then Security.

Making a call: Enter the phone number, including the country and area codes if necessary, and press the call key.

Answering a call: Press the call key. If the keypad is locked, you can still answer by pressing the call key.

Rejecting a call: Press the end key.

Volume Adjustment: During a call, scroll up to increase or down to decrease the volume of the earpiece or headset.

Loudspeaker: During a call, you may select Loudsp. to use the speakerphone or Handset to return to the earpiece.

Step 1. To assign a number, select Menu, then Contacts, then Speed dials.

Step 2. Scroll to an available number key (2 to 9) and select Assign.

Step 3. Enter the phone number or select Search to choose a saved contact.

Step 4. To turn the feature on, select Menu, then Settings, then Call, then Speed dialling, and select On.

Step 5. To use speed dialling in standby mode, press and hold the desired number key.

Traditional text input: Press a number key (2-9) repeatedly until the desired character appears. If the next letter is on the same key, wait for the cursor to appear before pressing it again.

Predictive text input: Press each key (2-9) only once for one letter. To confirm a word, scroll right or add a space. If the word is incorrect, press the * key repeatedly to view other matches.

Switching modes: Press and hold Options to switch between traditional and predictive input. Press the # key to change character cases. Press and hold the # key to switch between letter and number modes.

Punctuation: Press the 1 key repeatedly for common punctuation or the * key for a list of special characters.

Step 1. Select Menu, then Messaging, then Create message, and finally Message.

Step 2. In the To: field, enter the recipient’s phone number or email address, or select Add to pick from contacts.

Step 3. Scroll to the Text: field and enter your message.

Step 4. To add content (like an image) and convert it to a multimedia message, scroll to the attachment bar at the bottom and select the content type.

Step 5. Select Send to dispatch the message.

Setup: If no account is defined, the e-mail setup wizard starts automatically when you access the e-mail application. To add an additional account, select Menu, Messaging, your existing account, then Options, and Add mailbox.

Writing an e-mail: Select Menu, Messaging, Create message, and E-mail message. To attach a file, select Options and then Insert. Press the call key or select Send to send the message.

Downloading e-mail: Select Menu, Messaging, and your desired mailbox. Confirm the connection query to download messages.

Adding a contact: Select Menu, Contacts, Names, then Options, and Add new contact.

Adding details: Scroll to a name and select Details, then Options, and Add detail.

Searching: Select Names and scroll through the list or enter the first letters of the name.

Copying contacts: Select Names, scroll to a contact, select Options, then Copy contact. You can copy between the phone memory and the SIM card.

Memory settings: To choose whether to use the SIM or phone memory, select Menu, Contacts, and then Settings.

Step 1. Select Menu, Settings, Connectivity, and Bluetooth.

Step 2. Select My phone’s name to set a name for your device.

Step 3. Select Bluetooth and set it to On to activate connectivity.

Step 4. To pair with a new device, select Paired devices and then Add new device. Select the found device and select Add. You may need to enter a passcode (up to 16 characters) on both devices.

Step 5. To connect to an audio enhancement, select Connect audio enhan. and choose the device from the list.

To reset the device, select Menu, Settings, and Rest. factory sett. You have two options:

Restore settings only: This resets all preference settings without deleting personal data such as contacts or messages.

Restore all: This resets all preference settings and deletes all personal data, including contacts, messages, and media files.

The NOKIA 2700 supports a capture resolution of 1200×1600 pixels.

Capturing an image: Select Menu, Media, and Camera. Scroll up or down to zoom. Select Capture to take the photo.

Recording video: Select Menu, Media, and Video. Select Record to begin filming and Stop to end it.

Settings: To adjust image quality, resolution, or self-timer, select Options while in the camera or video mode.

Note: A compatible headset must be attached to the device as it acts as an antenna.

Step 1. Select Menu, Media, and Radio.

Step 2. To search for a station, press and hold the scroll key to the left or right.

Step 3. To save a station, select Options and Save station.

Step 4. To switch between saved stations, scroll left or right.

Step 5. To adjust the volume, scroll up or down.

Step 6. To leave the radio playing in the background, press the end key. To close it entirely, press and hold the end key.

Step 1. Select Menu, Organiser, and Alarm clock.

Step 2. Select Alarm: to turn the alarm on or off.

Step 3. Select Alarm time: to set the time.

Step 4. Select Repeat: to choose specific days for the alarm to alert you.

Step 5. Select Alarm tone: to personalize the sound.

Step 6. Select Snooze time-out: to define the duration for the snooze function.

Step 7. To stop a sounding alarm, select Stop. Selecting Snooze will stop the alarm for the time-out duration before it resumes.

Step 1. If the phone is off, switch it on. Check for adequate signal strength.

Step 2. Insert a SIM card if required by the device.

Step 3. Press the end key as many times as needed to clear the display.

Step 4. Enter the official emergency number for your location.

Step 5. Press the call key. Provide all necessary information clearly and do not end the call until given permission.
