All connections should be made before the mains lead is plugged in and the unit switched on.

The MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A200 can be used with a preamplifier or any line level source which has a volume control. Connect your pre-amp or other line level source to the phono input on the back panel marked “Line Input”.

How do I set up the MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A200 for bi-amping?

The MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A200 has a “Loop Out” facility to allow for easy bi-amping of speakers with bi-wireable crossovers. In this setup, typically one unit drives the tweeter (high frequencies) and one drives the woofer (low frequencies) of each loudspeaker enclosure, requiring four units for a stereo pair.

Taking the left channel connections first, connect the pre-amp’s (or other source’s) left output to the first MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A200’s line input.

Then, connect that unit’s loop output to the second MUSICAL FIDELITY X-A200’s line input. Both units will now be driven from the same left channel signal.

The first unit can now be used to drive the woofer and the second to drive the tweeter of the left channel loudspeaker.

Repeat this process for the right channel.
