For safe battery handling, follow these guidelines:

Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.

Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C (265°F) may cause explosion.

Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorised service providers.

To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to a short circuit, never immerse your tool, battery pack or charger in fluid or allow a fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fluids, such as seawater, certain industrial chemicals, and bleach or bleach-containing products, etc., can cause a short circuit.

Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

To reduce the risk of injury, do not convert this power tool to operate in a way which is not specifically designed and specified by the tool manufacturer. Such a conversion may result in a loss of control and cause serious personal injury.

This tool is designed for cutting rebar. Cutting other materials will shorten the life of the blade and may result in injury.

Ensure blade cover is in place. Never operate the tool while blade cover is open.

Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and specified by the tool manufacturer. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure safe operation.

The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the power tool. Accessories running faster than their rated speed can break and fly apart.

The dimensions of the accessory mounting must fit the dimensions of the mounting hardware of the power tool. Accessories that do not match the mounting hardware of the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control.

Never use damaged or incorrect mounting hardware. The blade flange and screw were specially designed for your tool, for optimum performance and safety of operation.

Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials.

Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle. If both hands are holding the tool, they cannot be cut by the blade.

Never hold the workpiece in your hands or across your leg while cutting. Secure the workpiece before cutting. It is important to support the work properly to minimise body exposure, kickback, or loss of control.

Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will also make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.

Do not touch the blade, workpiece, or chips with bare hands immediately after cutting; they may be hot and could burn skin.

Chip bag (available separately) may be hot after use. Use caution when emptying chip bag.

Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, jammed or misaligned blade, causing an uncontrolled tool to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator. It can occur if the blade is pinched, jammed, twisted, or misaligned in the cut.

Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below:

Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the tool and position your arms to resist kickback forces. Kickback could cause the tool to jump backwards, but kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken.

When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the paddle switch and hold the tool motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the tool from the work or pull the tool backward while the blade is in motion or kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective actions to eliminate the cause of blade binding.

When restarting a tool in the workpiece, center the blade in the kerf so that the teeth are not engaged into the material. If a blade binds, it may walk up or kickback from the workpiece as the tool is restarted.

Do not use dull or damaged blades. This can produce narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade binding and kickback.

Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.

To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body of the tool. Make sure it latches securely into place.

To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and pull the battery pack away from the tool.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always use a side handle when using this tool. Hold securely.

The side handle may be installed on either side of the tool or on the top. Position the side handle in the location which offers best control. To install, thread side handle into the side handle socket and tighten securely.

Replace the blade when it becomes damaged, dull or worn.

1. WARNING: Remove battery to avoid starting the tool. Do not touch the tool blade with bare hands immediately after cutting; it may be hot and could burn skin.

2. Use the hex wrench to loosen the two blade cover screws, and open the blade cover.

3. Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the spindle from rotating, then use the hex wrench to remove the blade screw.

4. Remove the blade flange and blade. Discard the old blade.

5. Align the guide hole of the new blade with the guide pin and install the blade. NOTE: The guide hole has a white ring around it, and the guide pin has a white dot marking the top. Make sure to match the direction arrow on the blade with the direction arrow on the tool.

6. While holding the spindle lock button, install the blade flange and blade screw, and tighten with the hex wrench.

7. Close the blade cover and use the hex wrench to tighten the two blade cover screws.

The cutting shoe guide should be adjusted to fit the rebar to be cut and reduce chances of kickback. Leave enough space that the rebar can move forward into the blade easily but not side to side.

To adjust the guide:

1. WARNING: Remove battery to avoid starting the tool.

2. Use the hex wrench to loosen the guide adjustment screw.

3. Position the cutting shoe against the rebar to be cut.

4. Slide the cutting shoe guide so that it is almost flush with the rebar.

5. Use the hex wrench to tighten the guide adjustment screw.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always wear proper eye protection marked to comply with AS/NZS 1337.1. When working in dusty situations, use a suitable dust extraction solution in accordance with its operating instructions or wear appropriate respiratory protection.

Keep hands away from the blade and all moving parts.

Always use a side handle when using this tool. Hold securely.

Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks could ignite these materials.

1. To start the tool, grasp the handle(s) firmly, push the lock-off switch forward and squeeze the paddle switch. NOTE: A LED is turned on when the paddle switch is pulled and will go off shortly after the paddle switch is released.

2. To stop the tool, release the paddle switch.

WARNING: Ensure the tool comes to a complete stop before laying it down.

The electric brake engages when the paddle switch is released, causing the blade to stop within seconds. There may be a delay between the time the paddle switch is released and when the brake engages. Occasionally the brake may miss completely. If the brake misses frequently, have the tool serviced by an authorised MILWAUKEE® service facility. Make sure the tool comes to a complete stop before laying it down.

CUTBRAKE will engage the electric brake to stop the tool automatically when the cut is complete (without needing to release the paddle switch). To turn CUTBRAKE on or off, press the CUTBRAKE button. The button will light green to indicate when CUTBRAKE is active.

WARNING: Ensure the tool comes to a complete stop before laying it down.

To cut rebar:

1. Grasp the handles firmly and align the rebar with the cutting shoe. WARNING: Rebar must be aligned with the cutting shoe to minimise the chance of kickback.

2. Make sure the blade is not touching the rebar, and start the tool. Allow the blade to reach full speed before cutting the rebar.

3. Slowly push the cutting blade against the rebar. Keep firm pressure on the tool while cutting.

4. Once the rebar has been fully cut through, release the paddle switch to stop the blade. NOTE: If CUTBRAKE is active, the blade will stop automatically when the cut is finished.

WARNING: Ensure blade has come to a complete stop before laying it down.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always unplug the charger and remove the battery pack from the charger or tool before performing any maintenance. Never disassemble the battery pack, charger, or tool.

Keep this tool, battery pack and charger in good repair by adopting a regular maintenance program. Inspect the tool for issues such as undue noise, misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, or any other condition that may affect the tool operation. Return the tool, battery pack, and charger to a MILWAUKEE® service facility for repair. Depending on use, periodically have an authorized service facility inspect and maintain the tool, battery, and charger to ensure proper performance.

Clean dust and debris from vents. Keep handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean, since certain cleaning agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Some of these include petrol, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents containing ammonia. Never use flammable or combustible solvents around tools.

WARNING: Chemical Burn Hazard. This device contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. A new or used battery can cause severe internal burns and lead to death in as little as 2 hours if swallowed or enters the body. Always secure the battery cover. If it does not close securely, stop using the device, remove the batteries, and keep it away from children. If you think batteries may have been swallowed or entered the body, seek immediate medical attention.

An internal coin cell battery is used to facilitate full ONE-KEY™ functionality. To replace the coin cell battery:

1. WARNING: Remove battery to avoid starting the tool.

2. Loosen the screw(s) and open the coin cell battery door.

3. Remove the old coin cell battery, keep it away from children, and dispose of it properly.

4. Insert the new coin cell battery (3V CR2032), with the positive side facing up.

5. Close the battery door and tighten the screw(s) securely.

If the tool does not start or operate at full power with a fully charged battery pack, clean the contacts on the battery pack. If the tool still does not work properly, return the tool, charger and battery pack, to a MILWAUKEE® service facility for repairs.
