What are the important safety instructions when using the dishwasher?
When using your dishwasher, follow basic precautions:
• Always read instructions before use to prevent damage and ensure safety.
• Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
• Repairs should only be done by qualified experts. Disconnect power when servicing.
• Install built-in units under a continuous countertop secured to adjacent cabinetry.
• The dishwasher must be electrically grounded. Follow installation details.
• Use only recommended detergents and rinse aids.
• Ensure all enclosure panels are properly in place before operating.
• Do not allow children to play in or on the dishwasher.
• Handle dishwasher detergent carefully (contains Sodium Silicate and Carbonate). If eye contact occurs, flush well with water. If swallowed, give large amounts of milk or water and call a physician. Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not tamper with controls.
• Do not drink water from the wash cabinet.
• When loading: locate sharp items so they won’t damage the door seal; load sharp knives handle-up to reduce injury risk.
• Only wash plastic items marked “dishwasher safe” or equivalent. Check manufacturer’s recommendations for unmarked items.
• Do not abuse, sit on, or stand on the door or dish rack.
• Do not touch the heating element during or immediately after the rinse cycle (Risk of burns!).
• Remove the door when taking an old dishwasher out of service or discarding it.
• Be aware of potential hydrogen gas build-up if the hot water system hasn’t been used for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas is explosive. Before using the dishwasher after such a period, turn on all hot water faucets and let water flow for several minutes. Do not smoke or use an open flame while faucets are open.
How can I save water and energy when using the dishwasher?
Follow these hints for economy washing:
• Connect the dishwasher to hot water. This saves time and energy, especially if the water is pre-heated.
• Fill the baskets to full capacity, but do not overload.
• Select a program according to the type of load and amount of soil.
• For half-loaded baskets, select the “Economy” Program.
• Pay attention to the detergent dosage instructions.

What are the general guidelines for loading the dishwasher?
• Place dishes so they can be rinsed from all sides.
• Dishes and cutlery should not cover each other.
• Invert hollow objects like cups, glasses, and pots.
• Place dishes with recessed bottoms (like cups or bowls) slanted so water can run off.
• Place tall, narrow objects in the center basket.
• Do not cover small objects in the top basket with large ones (e.g., don’t place large cups over dessert cups).
• Ensure the inlet funnel to the spray arm in the center of the upper basket is not covered.
• Do not block the spray arms with tall objects. Manually rotate the arms to test if necessary.

5. When re-assembling, make sure the coarse filter snaps securely back into place on the micro-fine filter.
6. Replace the filter combination back into the dishwasher, ensuring it sits flush on the floor of the wash cabinet.
7. Swing the handle from right to left to lock the filter combination in place.
How often should I clean the spray arms?
How do I clean the spray arms?
1. Remove all baskets.
2. Unscrew the upper and middle spray arms (turn counter-clockwise). For dishwashers with a cutlery tray (G 575 SC), the upper spray arm is easier to unscrew if the upper basket stays pushed in and only the cutlery tray is pulled out.
3. To remove the lower spray arm, simply lift it straight upwards.
4. The lower spray arm cap can be opened for cleaning by pushing it in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
5. Use a sharp, pointed object to push any food particles lodged in the jets inwards, then rinse the spray arms thoroughly under running water.
6. After cleaning the lower spray arm, close the cap again and push the spray arm firmly back into place.
7. When replacing the upper and middle spray arms, screw them back on (turn clockwise). Ensure the spray holes point upwards and the spray slits point downwards.
8. After replacing all spray arms, check that they can rotate freely.
What should I do if water hasn’t pumped away at the end of a program?
How do I clean the drain pump and non-return valve?
1. First, remove the filter combination from the wash cabinet.
2. Locate the non-return valve (under where the filter was). Push the locking clamp towards the right to unlock it.
3. Lift up the non-return valve.
4. Rinse the non-return valve under running water.
5. Before replacing the valve, check the area underneath (where the drain pump impeller is located) to make sure nothing is obstructing the pump.
6. Carefully replace the non-return valve and secure it by pushing the locking clamp back to its original position.
How do I clean the filter in the water inlet hose?
Warning: The plastic housing of the water connection hose contains an electrical component and must not be submerged in water.
1. Switch off the dishwasher at the power outlet.
2. Turn off the stopcock/faucet supplying water to the dishwasher.
3. Unscrew the water inlet hose from the stopcock/faucet. Wrap a cloth around the connection to soak up any residual water.
4. Carefully remove the rubber seal/washer from inside the hose connection.
5. Using pointed pliers, withdraw the small filter located inside the connection.
6. Clean the filter under running water.
7. Replace the filter and the rubber seal, making sure they are sitting correctly.
8. Screw the inlet hose back onto the stopcock/faucet, ensuring it goes on straight.
9. Turn the stopcock/faucet back on gradually and check the connection for leaks. If there is a leak, screw the connection on more tightly.
