• Do not let children on the air conditioner, as a serious injury may occur.

• Avoid fire hazard or electric shock. Do not use an extension cord or an adaptor plug. Do not remove any prongs from the power cord.

• Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.

• Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle.

Please observe the following cautions when handling your MIDEA MAP14S1TBL:

• When the air filter is removed, do not touch the metal parts of the unit to avoid injury.

• Always unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent fire, electric shock, or injury.

• Do not place obstacles around air inlets or inside of the air outlet, as this may cause failure or an accident.

• Clean with a soft cloth only. Do not use strong detergents containing wax or thinners, as they may damage the product.

• Use caution when unpacking and installing. Sharp edges could cause injury.

• Do not clean the air conditioner with water, as it may enter the unit and degrade the insulation, leading to electric shock.

• Hold the plug by the head of the power plug when taking it out to prevent electric shock and damage.

• Ensure the installation is properly secured to prevent the product from falling.

• Do not place heavy objects on the power cord and ensure the cord is not compressed to avoid fire or electric shock.

• If water is spilled on the unit, turn off the unit and the circuit breaker, then unplug it and contact a qualified service technician.

• Do not use near a gas stove or other gas burning appliances, as airflow may affect gas combustion.

• Do not use this air conditioner for purposes other than room comfort, such as preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects.

• Turn off the main power switch if the unit is not to be used for an extended time.

• Always insert the filters securely. Clean the filter once every two weeks. Operation without filters may cause failure.

• Do not drink water drained from the air conditioner.

If your MIDEA MAP14S1TBL uses R32 refrigerant, please follow these warnings carefully:

• Do not try to accelerate the defrosting process or use methods of cleaning that are not recommended by the manufacturer.

• The appliance shall be stored in a room without a continuously operating ignition source (e.g., open flames, an operating gas appliance, or an operating electric heater).

• Do not pierce or burn the appliance.

• Be aware that the refrigerants may not contain an odor.

• Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.

• Flammable refrigerant R32 is used within the air conditioner. Follow instructions carefully to handle, install, clean, and service the air conditioner to avoid damage or hazard. Do not dispose of the air conditioner in regular trash; contact a qualified agency for proper disposal.

• No open fire or devices that generate spark/arcing shall be around the air conditioner to avoid causing ignition of the flammable refrigerant used. Follow instructions carefully to store or maintain the air conditioner to prevent mechanical damage from occurring.

The power supply cord contains a current measuring device that detects damage. To test your power supply cord, follow these steps:

1. Plug in the air conditioner.

2. The power supply cord will have two buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.

3. Press the RESET Button. You will notice a click as the button engages.

4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. On some products, this is also indicated by a light on the plug head.

NOTE: Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation. The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when the TEST button is pushed, or if it cannot be reset. If the power supply cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired and must be replaced.

Here is a guide to the control panel features of your MIDEA MAP14S1TBL:

• Swing Button: Used to initiate the Auto Swing feature. When the operation is ON, pressing the SWING button can stop the louver at the desired angle.

• Connect Button (also Swing button): Press and hold the SWING button for 3 seconds to initiate the wireless connection mode. The LED Display will show ‘AP’.

• Timer button: Used to initiate the AUTO ON start time and AUTO OFF stop time program.

• Fan button: Controls the fan speed in four steps – LOW, MID, HIGH and AUTO. In COOL or DRY mode, press the Fan button for 3 seconds to turn the constant fan function on or off.

• Mode button: Selects the desired operating mode. Each press cycles through AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN and HEAT (for heat pump models).

• Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons: Used to increase/decrease temperature settings in 1° increments (60°F/16°C to 86°F/30°C) or the TIMER setting in a range of 0 ~ 24hrs. To change between °F and °C, press and hold both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

• Power button: Turns the unit on and off.

• Sleep button: Press to initiate the SLEEP operation. Press again to stop. Press and hold for 3 seconds to initiate the filter clean reminder feature. The LED will illuminate after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the filter.

• LED display: Shows the set temperature in °F or °C and the Auto-timer settings. In FAN mode, it shows the room temperature.

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “COOL” indicator light comes on.

2. Press the ADJUST buttons Up (▲) or Down (▼) to select your desired room temperature. The temperature can be set within a range of 60°F~86°F / 16°C~30°C.

3. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed.

2. Press the ADJUST buttons Up (▲) or Down (▼) to select your desired room temperature. The temperature can be set within a range of 60°F~86°F / 16°C~30°C.

3. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed. For some models, the fan speed cannot be adjusted while in HEAT mode.

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “DRY” indicator light comes on.

2. In this mode, you cannot select a fan speed. The fan motor operates at AUTO speed.

3. Keep windows and doors closed for the best dehumidifying effect.

4. Do not put the duct to the window.

When you set the air conditioner to AUTO mode, it will automatically select cooling, heating (cooling only models excluded), or fan only operation depending on the temperature you have selected and the current room temperature. The air conditioner will control the room temperature automatically according to the temperature point you set. Under AUTO mode, you cannot select the fan speed.

1. Press the “MODE” button until the “FAN” indicator light comes on.

2. Press the “FAN SPEED” button to choose the fan speed.

3. The temperature cannot be adjusted in FAN mode.

4. Do not connect the duct to a window.

• To set Auto Stop: When the unit is on, press the Timer button to initiate the Auto stop program. The TIMER OFF indicator will light up. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) button to select the desired time. Press the TIMER button again within 5 seconds.

• To set Auto Start: When the unit is off, press the Timer button to initiate the Auto start program. Press it again within five seconds to initiate the Auto stop program as well if desired. Press the Up (▲) or Down (▼) button to select the desired start time.

• Adjusting Time: Press or hold the Up (▲) or Down (▼) button to change the Auto time by 0.5 hour increments up to 10 hours, then at 1 hour increments up to 24 hours. The control will count down the time remaining until start.

• Cancelling Timer: Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time or adjusting the timer setting to 0.0 will cancel the Auto Start/Stop timer program.

The “P1” error code means the bottom collection tray is full of water. The unit will beep 8 times, and the air conditioning/dehumidification process will stop, though the fan motor will continue to operate.

To fix this, carefully move the unit to a drain location, remove the bottom drain plug, and let the water drain away. Reinstall the bottom drain plug firmly and restart the machine. The “P1” symbol should disappear. If the error repeats, call for service.

Pressing the SLEEP button will cause the unit to adjust the temperature for energy savings during sleep. The temperature will increase (during cooling) or decrease (during heating) by 2°F/1°C after 30 minutes. It will adjust by another 2°F/1°C after an additional 30 minutes. This new temperature will be maintained for 7 hours before the unit returns to the originally selected temperature. This ends the Sleep mode. The SLEEP operation feature is unavailable in FAN or DRY mode.

The COMFORT SENSE feature can ONLY be activated from the remote control. It allows the remote to act as a remote thermostat for precise temperature control at its location (must be within 26 feet of the unit). To activate, point the remote control towards the unit and press the set button to select. The remote will display the temperature at its location and send this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. If the unit does not receive the signal for any 7-minute interval, it will exit Comfort Sense mode. This feature is unavailable in FAN or DRY mode.

If your MIDEA MAP14S1TBL shuts off unexpectedly due to a power outage, the AUTO-RESTART feature will automatically restart the unit with the previously set function once power is restored.

The louver can be adjusted automatically using the SWING button on the control panel or remote controller.

• When the power is ON, the louver opens fully.

• Press the SWING button to initiate the Auto Swing feature. The louver will swing up and down automatically.

Please do not adjust the louver manually.

During Dry modes, you can set up continuous drainage. Remove the upper drain plug from the back of the unit and install the drain connector (5/8″ universal female adapter) with a 3/4″ hose (not included). For models without a drain connector, just attach the drain hose to the hole. Place the end of the hose directly in the drain area you’re using.

For continuous drainage in heat mode, remove the middle drain plug from the back of the unit and install the drain connector (5/8″ universal female adapter) with a 3/4″ hose (not included). For models without a drain connector, attach the drain hose to the connector. Place the end of the hose in your drain area.

The drain hose can be elevated up to 6ft (1.8m). Direct the hose toward the drain, making sure there are no kinks that will restrict water flow. Place the end of the hose into the drain and make sure the end of the hose is directed downward. When the continuous drain hose is not used, ensure that the corresponding drain plug and knob are installed firmly to prevent leaks.

Your installation location for the MIDEA MAP14S1TBL should meet the following requirements:

• Install your unit on an even surface to minimize noise and vibration.

• The unit must be installed near a grounded plug, and the Collection Tray Drain (on the back of the unit) must be accessible.

• The unit should be located at least 9.8″ (25cm) from the nearest wall to ensure proper air conditioning.

• The horizontal louver blade should be at least 19.7″ (50cm) away from obstacles.

• DO NOT cover the Intakes, Outlets or Remote Signal Receptor of the unit, as this could cause damage.

1. Depending on the size of your window, adjust the size of the window slider.

2. If the length of the window requires two or more window sliders, use the bolt to fasten the window sliders once they are adjusted to the proper length.

3. Paste the insulator on the inside of the Window sliders.

1. Cut the adhesive foam seal A and B strips to the proper lengths and attach them to the window sash and frame.

2. Insert the window slider assembly into the window opening. If the hose opening is covered by the window frame, rotate the panel so the thicker side faces the window frame. Attach the Window Kit Brace to the back of the hose panel, trimming the brace if necessary.

3. Cut the non-adhesive foam seal C strip to match the width of the window. Insert the seal between the glass and the window frame to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

4. If desired, install the security bracket with 2 screws as shown.

5. Attach the Hung Window Adapter to the hose by lining up the circles on the adapter and the hose. Insert the window slider adapter into the hole of the window slider.

1. Assemble the Sliding Window Adapter by aligning both halves and connecting them. Then, attach the air divider to the outdoor side of the newly formed adapter.

2. Cut the adhesive foam seal A and B strips to the proper lengths and attach them to the window sash and frame.

3. Insert the window slider assembly into the window opening. If the hose opening is covered by the window frame, rotate the panel so the thicker side faces the window frame. Attach the Window Kit Brace to the back of the hose panel, trimming the brace if necessary.

4. Cut the non-adhesive foam seal C strip to match the height of the window. Insert the foam seal between the glass and the window frame to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

5. If desired, install the security bracket with 2 screws as shown.

6. Attach the Sliding Window Adapter to the hose by lining up the circles on the adapter and the hose. Insert the window slider adapter into the hole of the window slider.

When the unit is in heat mode, the Air Hose insulator must be fixed to the hose.

1. Cover the Air Hose with the Air Hose insulator.

2. Pull out the Air Hose and cut the useless part of the Air Hose insulator.

3. Tighten the air hose with the Ribbons and cut the useless part.

• Always unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing.

• DO NOT use flammable liquids or chemicals to clean the unit.

• DO NOT wash the unit under running water. Doing so causes electrical danger.

• DO NOT operate the machine if the power supply was damaged during cleaning. A damaged power cord must be replaced with a new cord from the manufacturer.

To clean the air filter, take out the upper filter. It is important to operate the unit with the filter in place, as dirt and lint can clog it and reduce performance. Be sure to clean the air filter every 2 weeks for optimal performance.

1. Drain the unit’s water collection tray completely.

2. Run the unit on FAN mode for 12 hours in a warm room to dry it and prevent mold.

3. Turn off the unit and unplug it.

4. Clean the air filter according to the instructions. Reinstall the clean, dry filter before storing.

5. Remove the batteries from the remote control.

Be sure to store the unit in a cool, dark place. Exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat can shorten its lifespan.

This could be due to the P1 Error Code, which means the water collection tray is full. Turn off the unit, drain the water from the water collection tray, and restart the unit.

There are several potential reasons why your air conditioner may not be cooling well. Check the following:

• Room vs. Set Temperature: If the room temperature is lower than the set temperature in COOL mode, reset the temperature.

• Blocked Air Filter: The air filter may be blocked with dust or animal hair. Turn off the unit and clean the filter according to the instructions.

• Exhaust Hose: The exhaust hose may not be connected or could be blocked. Turn off the unit, disconnect the hose, check for blockage, and reconnect the hose.

• Temperature Setting: The temperature setting might be too high; decrease the set temperature.

• Open Windows/Doors: Make sure all windows and doors are closed.

• Room Size: The room area could be too large for the unit’s capacity.

• Heat Sources: Check the room for possible heat sources and remove them if possible.

If your unit is noisy or vibrating excessively, check the following:

• Level Surface: The floor may not be level. Place the unit on a flat, level surface.

• Blocked Air Filter: The air filter may be blocked with dust or animal hair. Turn off the unit and clean the filter according to the instructions.

This sound is caused by the refrigerant flow inside the unit and is normal.

Ensure the Window Kit brace is installed properly to support the window kit and prevent it from leaning.

Your MIDEA MAP14S1TBL may come with two AAA batteries. To install them:

1. Slide the back cover from the remote control downward, exposing the battery compartment.

2. Insert the batteries, paying attention to match up the (+) and (-) ends of the batteries with the symbols inside the battery compartment.

3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

For optimum performance, do not mix old and new batteries, and do not leave batteries in the remote if you don’t plan on using it for more than 2 months.

• ON/OFF: Turns the unit on or off.

• MODE: Switches the operating modes (Auto → Cool → Dry → Heat → Fan).

• TEMP ▲: Increases temperature in 1°F (1°C) increments. Max temperature is 86°F (30°C).

• TEMP ▼: Decreases temperature in 1°F (1°C) increments. Min temperature is 60°F (16°C).

• FAN SPEED: Switches the fan speed (Auto → Low → Medium → High).

• TIMER ON: Sets timer to turn the unit on.

• TIMER OFF: Sets timer to turn the unit off.

• SWING: Starts and stops the horizontal louver movement.

• SLEEP: Saves energy during sleeping hours.

• LED: Turns the unit’s LED display and control panel beeps on or off.

• °C/°F: Changes the temperature units between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

• SET: Scrolls through operation functions like Comfort Sense and AP mode.

• OK: Press to send the desired settings to the AC unit.

• SHORTCUT: Used to restore the current settings or resume previous settings.

TIMER ON SETTING:

1. Press the TIMER ON button to initiate the ON time sequence.

2. Press the up or down button multiple times to set the desired time to turn on the unit.

3. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER ON will be activated.

TIMER OFF SETTING:

1. Press the TIMER OFF button to initiate the OFF time sequence.

2. Press the up or down button multiple times to set the desired time to turn off the unit.

3. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second; the TIMER OFF will be activated.

Note: When setting the timer, the time will increase by 30-minute increments with each press, up to 10 hours. After 10 hours and up to 24, it will increase in 1-hour increments. The timer will revert to 0.0 after 24. You can cancel either function by setting its timer to 0.0h.

3. This Smart AC only supports WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK (recommended) encryption.

4. To ensure proper scanning of the QR code, your smart phone must have at least a 5-megapixel camera.

5. Due to unstable network connectivity, requests may time out. If this happens, re-run the network configuration.

6. Due to unstable network connectivity, commands may time out. If this happens, the smartphone app and the actual product may display conflicting information. The information displayed on the actual product is always the most accurate available. Refresh the app to re-sync.

SACC is the representative value of Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity, in Btu/h, as determined in accordance with the DOE test procedure. Due to a new federal test procedure for Portable Air Conditioners, the cooling capacity claims on packaging for models produced after 2017 are significantly lower than those of models produced prior to 2017. This change is due to the new test procedure, not a change in the air conditioners themselves. So, while the BTUs listed may be lower, the actual cooling capacity of the air conditioners has not changed.
