You may not use the jug in a microwave. Do not place the jug on a hot stove. Do not use the jug to store dairy products or baby food due to the risk of bacterial growth. Do not lay the filled jug on its side as liquid could leak out.

Set up the appliance in a dry room on a stable, flat, and dry surface. The surface may not be hot. The appliance may not be placed in the vicinity of sinks or similar areas. Route the power cable so it does not lie over edges or cannot be damaged by hot surfaces. Store any unneeded cable length in the cable-winding facility in the base of the appliance.

After connecting the appliance to the power mains, the time will flash on the display. The appliance is not ready for use until the time is set. Press the “Hours” and “Minutes” buttons to set the time. Hold down the buttons to run through the hours or minutes faster. If you disconnect the appliance from the mains and connect it again, you must set the time again. You can switch the display lighting on and off by simultaneously pressing the “Hours” and “Minutes” buttons for longer than 2 seconds.

To open the hinged filter holder, reach into the recessed handle and swing out the hinged filter holder to the left up to the stop. You can then remove the filter insert. Fit the filter insert before closing and swing the hinged filter holder to the right until you hear it click into place.

Take hold of the recessed handle and pull the water tank vertically upwards out of the appliance. Remove the water tank lid and fill the tank with the required quantity of water using fresh, clean tap or drinking water. Close the tank with the lid and insert it vertically from above into the appliance. Alternatively, you can fill water directly into the water tank while it is still in the appliance using a suitable vessel. Do not exceed the 10/15 cup marking.

Before using for the first time and after descaling, you need to rinse the appliance twice. Fill the water tank with fresh, clean tap water up to the 10/15-cup marking. Ensure the filter insert is in place but do not use a filter or coffee powder. Place the jug with the lid closed under the filter holder. Start the rinsing process with the “ON/OFF” button. Switch off the appliance once the water has run through and empty the jug.

The AromaSelector allows you to change the taste with the same quantity of coffee. Turn the AromaSelector clockwise for a milder coffee. Turn the AromaSelector anticlockwise for a stronger coffee.

1. Fill the water tank with the required quantity of water.

2. Swing the hinged filter holder to the left up to the stop.

3. Fold a Melitta 1×4 filter along the stamped seam and fit it into the filter insert.

4. Fill the filter paper with ground coffee (approx. 6 to 8 g per large cup).

5. Close the hinged filter holder.

6. Place the jug with the lid closed under the hinged filter holder.

7. Start the brewing process with the “ON/OFF” button.

Variant without timer function: Press the “CALC” button for longer than 2 seconds until it flashes. Press the “CALC” button repeatedly until the required water hardness is set (indicated by the flashing rhythm). Press the “CALC” button for longer than 2 seconds to save the setting.

Variant with timer function: Press and hold the “CALC” button. Also press the “Minutes” button until the required water hardness is shown on the display. Release the “CALC” button to save the setting.

To set the timer, press and hold the “TIMER” button. While holding, press the “Hours” and “Minutes” buttons to set the starting time. Release the “TIMER” button. To activate the timer, press the “TIMER” button briefly. The “TIMER” lamp will light up, and the start time will appear briefly on the display. The brewing process will start at the set time.

Allow the appliance to cool down. Clean the housing surfaces with a soft, moist cloth. Clean the jug and filter insert after every use. Rinse the jug, filter insert, water tank, and water tank lid with clear, warm water and a small quantity of washing-up liquid. The filter insert and water tank lid are also dishwasher safe.

Descale the appliance when the “CALC” lamp lights up. Use a liquid descaling agent for filter coffee machines. Fill at least 500 ml of descaling fluid into the water tank. Place the jug with the lid closed under the filter holder. Start descaling by pressing the “CALC” button. The process takes approximately 25 minutes. Once finished, the “CALC” lamp goes out. Rinse the appliance twice with fresh water after descaling.
