For Battery BL1055B:

1. Open the cover on the USB port.

2. Connect the battery and an AC Power Adapter ADP07 (not included) or another general USB charger using the supplied USB cable. The recommended output for a general USB charger is 5 V / 3 A or lower.

3. Plug the AC Power Adapter into the mains.

4. When charging is finished, all battery capacity indicators will light up and then turn off after a period. Unplug the AC Power Adapter, disconnect the USB cable, and close the cover.

The indicator lamps show the remaining capacity:

How do I install or remove the battery cartridge on the MAKITA DCX201?

Always switch off the MAKITA DCX201 before installing or removing the battery cartridge. Hold the battery holder and cartridge firmly during the process.

To install:

1. Align the tongue on the battery cartridge with the groove in the battery holder.

2. Slide it into place all the way until it locks with a little click. Ensure the red indicator is no longer visible.

To remove:

1. Press the button on the front of the cartridge.

2. Slide the cartridge out from the battery holder.


How do I use and operate the MAKITA DCX201?

Connecting the Battery:

1. The battery can be stored in the battery pocket. Connect the plug of the power cable to the battery, then put the battery in the pocket and fasten it.

2. If using a battery holder, feed the plug through the hole in the battery pocket to the inside of the shirt. Attach the belt hook of the battery holder to your waist belt and connect the plug.

Powering On/Off:

1. To turn on, connect all cables, then press and hold the power button on the battery or battery holder.

2. To turn off, press and hold the power button on the battery or battery holder.

Adjusting Temperature:

The MAKITA DCX201 has three temperature settings. When you first switch it on, the temperature is set to “low”. Each time you press the power button, the setting changes. The color of the power button indicates the current setting:

Blue: Low

White: Medium

Red: High

For continuous operation, it is recommended to set the temperature to “low” (blue).


How do I check the remaining battery capacity on the MAKITA DCX201?

The method depends on the battery type you are using.

For battery cartridges with an indicator, used with a battery holder:

Press the check button on the battery cartridge. The indicator lamps will light up for a few seconds to show the remaining capacity.

For Battery BL1055B:

The battery holder or Battery BL1055B can be used as an external power supply for compatible USB devices.

1. Open the cover on the USB port.

2. Connect a USB cable (not included) to the USB port and then to your device.

3. Start charging:

When using a battery holder (with battery): Press and hold the power button until the power level indicator lights up. It supplies DC 5V, 2.4 A.

When using Battery BL1055B: Press the power button. It supplies DC 5V, 1.5 A.

NOTICE: Before connecting a USB device, always back up its data. Not doing so may cause data loss. When not using or after charging, remove the USB cable and close the port cover.


What should I do if my MAKITA DCX201 does not switch on?

If the MAKITA DCX201 does not switch on or any fault is found with a fully charged battery cartridge, try the following:
