WARNING:

7. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

8. When the appliance is operated in the combination mode, children should only use the oven under adult supervision due to the temperatures generated.

CAUTION:

1. You cannot operate your oven with the door open due to the safety interlocks built into the door mechanism. It is important not to tamper with the safety interlock.

2. Do not place any object (such as kitchen towel, napkin, etc.) between the oven front face and the door or allow food or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.

3. Do not operate your oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door closes properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door(bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or loosened), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.

4. Please ensure cooking times are correctly set; small amounts of food require shorter cooking or heating time. Over-cooking may result in the food catching a fire.

5. When heating liquids, e.g. soups, sauces and beverages: Avoid using straight-sided containers with narrow necks, do not overheat, and stir the liquid before placing the container in the oven and again halfway through the heating time. After heating, allow to stand in the oven for a short time, stir or shake them again carefully and check the temperature before consumption to avoid burns.

6. An exhaust outlet is located on top or bottom or side of the oven. Do not block the outlet.

7. Do not operate the oven when empty. It is best to leave a glass of water in the oven when not in use.

8. Do not cook food wrapped in paper towels, unless your cookbook contains instructions for the food you are cooking. Do not use newspaper in place of paper towels for cooking.

9. Do not use wooden containers and ceramic containers which have metallic (e.g. gold or silver) inlays. Always remove metal twist ties.

10. Do not use recycled paper products.

11. Do not rinse the tray and rack by placing it in water just after cooking. This may cause breakage or damage.

12. Be certain to place the oven so the front of the door is 8 cm or more behind the edge of the surface on which it is placed, to avoid accidental tipping.

13. Before cooking, pierce the skin of potatoes, apples or any such fruit or vegetable.

14. Do not cook eggs in their shell. Eggs in their shell and whole hardboiled eggs should not be heated in microwave ovens since they may explode, even after microwave heating has ended.

15. Do not attempt deep fat frying in your oven.

16. If smoke is observed, switch off or disconnect the oven from the power supply and keep the oven door closed to stifle any flames.

17. When food is heated or cooked in disposable containers of plastic, paper or other combustible materials, keep an eye on the oven and check it frequently.

18. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. Do not touch the oven door, outer cabinet, rear cabinet, oven cavity, accessories and dishes during grill mode, convection mode and auto cook operations until they are cool.

19. The oven should be cleaned regularly and any food deposits removed.

20. Only use the temperature probe recommended for this oven (if applicable).

21. If heating elements are provided, during use the appliance becomes hot. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements inside the oven.

22. Follow exact directions given by each manufacturer for their popcorn product. Do not leave the oven unattended while the corn is being popped.

24. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the oven door glass.

26. This microwave oven is intended to be used freestanding or built-in. It must not be placed in a cabinet.

27. The connection may be achieved by having the plug accessible or by incorporation of a switch in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.

28. (Young) Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

30. The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars shall be stirred or shaken and the temperature checked before consumption, in order to avoid burns.

32. Metallic containers for food and beverages are not allowed during microwave cooking, unless specified by the manufacturer.

33. The appliance must not be installed behind a decorative door in order to avoid overheating.

1. Unpack your oven and place it on a flat level surface. Make sure you remove all accessories and packing.

2. Place the oven in a level location with a height of more than 85 cm. Ensure there is at least 20 cm of space on top and 10 cm at the rear for proper ventilation. The front of the oven should be at least 8 cm from the edge of the surface to prevent tipping.

3. Plug your oven into a standard household socket. Ensure the oven is the only appliance connected to that socket.

4. Open the oven door by pulling the door handle and place the METAL TRAY inside.

5. Fill a microwave-safe container with 300 ml (1/2 pint) of water. Place it on the METAL TRAY and close the oven door.

6. Press the STOP/CLEAR button, then press the START/Q-START button once to set 30 seconds of cooking time.

7. The display will count down from 30 seconds. When it reaches 0, it will sound BEEPS. Open the door and test the water temperature. It should be warm. Be careful when removing the hot container.

8. Your oven is now installed. Remember that the contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars should be stirred or shaken and the temperature checked before consumption to avoid burns.

1. DISPLAY WINDOW: Shows time of day, cooking time, power level, and cooking categories.

2. Speed Auto Cook: Allows you to cook most of your favorite food quickly by selecting the food type and weight.

3. Auto Defrost: Allows you to select the food type and weight for defrosting.

4. Steam Cook: Allows you to cook most of your favorite food quickly by selecting the food type and weight.

5. FUNCTION DIAL: Selects the operating function.

6. CONTROL DIAL: Sets cooking time, temperature, weight, and cooking categories. You can also lengthen or shorten the cooking time at any point by turning the dial (except in defrost and deodorize modes).

7. Enter/Clock: Confirms the selected cooking category, microwave power level, or temperature. It is also used to set the time of day.

8. START/Q-START: Press once to start a selected cooking program. The Quick Start feature also allows you to set 30-second intervals of HIGH power cooking with each press.

9. STOP/CLEAR: Stops cooking and clears all entries except the time of day.

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Press Enter/Clock once.

3. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows the desired hour (e.g., “14:00”).

4. Press Enter/Clock to confirm the hour.

5. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows the desired minutes (e.g., “14:35”).

6. Press Enter/Clock. The clock will start counting.

Note: If the display shows strange symbols, unplug your oven, plug it back in, and reset the clock.

To set the Child Lock:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Press and hold STOP/CLEAR until “L” and a lock symbol appear on the display and a BEEP sounds. The CHILD LOCK is now set. No functions can be used, but the door can still be opened.

To cancel the Child Lock:

Press and hold STOP/CLEAR until “L” and the lock symbol disappear. You will hear a BEEP when it’s released.

The Quick Start feature allows you to set 30-second intervals of HIGH power (900 W) cooking with each press of the START/Q-START button.

For example, to cook for 2 minutes on HIGH power:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Press START/Q-START four times. The oven will start cooking before you have finished the fourth press.

To cook food on 600 W power for 5 minutes and 30 seconds:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select micro (≈).

3. Press Enter/Clock for micro confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “600 W”.

5. Press Enter/Clock for power confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “5:30”.

7. Press START/Q-START.

You can increase or decrease the cooking time during cooking by turning the CONTROL dial.

The LG SOLARDOM MA3884VC has 5 power levels. Use the Low Rack and Metal Tray for all levels.

This feature allows you to brown and crisp food quickly. The high rack must be used on the metal tray during grill cooking. For example, to use Grill-1 for 12 minutes and 30 seconds:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select grill (^^).

3. Press Enter/Clock for grill confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “Gr-1”.

5. Press Enter/Clock for category confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “12:30”.

7. Press START/Q-START.

After cooking, you must wear gloves to remove the metal tray as it will be very hot.

Grill Categories:

The convection oven has a temperature range of 40°C and 100-230°C. The low rack is recommended for convection cooking.

1. To Preheat:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select convection mode.

3. Press Enter/Clock for convection confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows the desired temperature (e.g., “220 °C”).

5. Press START/Q-START. The display will show “Pr-H”. The oven will BEEP when the selected temperature is reached.

2. To Cook (after preheating or without preheating):

1. Place food in the oven.

2. Press STOP/CLEAR.

3. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select convection mode.

4. Press Enter/Clock for convection confirmation.

5. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows the desired temperature (e.g., “220 °C”).

6. Press Enter/Clock for temperature confirmation.

7. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows the desired cooking time (e.g., “50:00”).

8. Press START/Q-START.

After cooking, you must wear gloves to remove the metal tray/container as it will be hot.

Speed combi cooking allows you to cook with a heater and microwave at the same time or alternately. This feature generally reduces cooking time. Wear gloves when removing the metal tray after cooking as it will be very hot.

Speed Combi Categories:

Co-1: Grill-1 + Microwave power

Co-2: Grill-2 + Microwave power

Co-3: Grill-3 + Microwave power

Co-4: Convection + Microwave power

Co-5: (Upper + Lower heater) + Microwave power

Example: Grill Combination (Co-1, Co-2, Co-3) with 360W micro power for 25 minutes:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select a grill combination mode (e.g., Co-1).

3. Press Enter/Clock for speed combi confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “Co-1”.

5. Press Enter/Clock for grill-1 confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “360 W”.

7. Press Enter/Clock for power confirmation.

8. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “25:00”.

9. Press START/Q-START.

Example: Convection Combination (Co-4) with 360W micro power at 200°C for 25 minutes:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select convection combination mode (Co-4).

3. Press Enter/Clock for speed combi confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “Co-4”.

5. Press Enter/Clock for convection confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “200 °C”.

7. Press Enter/Clock for temp confirmation.

8. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “360 W”.

9. Press Enter/Clock for power confirmation.

10. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “25:00”.

11. Press START/Q-START.

Example: Upper + Lower Heater Combination (Co-5) with 360W micro power at 200°C for 25 minutes:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select speed combination mode (Co-5).

3. Press Enter/Clock for speed combi confirmation.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “Co-5”.

5. Press Enter/Clock for speed combi confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “200 °C”.

7. Press Enter/Clock for temp confirmation.

8. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “360 W”.

9. Press Enter/Clock for power confirmation.

10. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “25:00”.

11. Press START/Q-START.

Speed auto cook allows you to cook your favorite food quickly by selecting the food type and weight. For example, to cook 0.4 kg of frozen pizza (Ac 1):

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Press Speed Auto Cook.

3. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “Ac 1”.

4. Press Enter/Clock for category confirmation.

5. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “0.4 kg”.

6. Press START/Q-START.

After cooking, you must wear gloves to remove the metal tray/container as it will be hot.

SPEED AUTO COOK GUIDE:

CAUTION:

1. Always use oven gloves when removing the STEAMER; it’s very hot.

2. Do not put a hot STEAMER on a glass table. Use a pad or tray.

3. Pour at least 300 ml of water into the steamer before use.

4. Be careful when moving the STEAMER with water.

5. Ensure the steam cover and steam water bowl are set correctly.

6. Never use this Steamer with a different model product.

How to use Steam Cook (e.g., 0.6 kg of whole fish, St 6):

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Press Steam Cook.

3. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “St 6”.

4. Press Enter/Clock for category confirmation.

5. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “0.60 kg”.

6. Press START/Q-START.

You can adjust the cooking time by turning the CONTROL dial during cooking.

STEAM COOK GUIDE:

Your oven has four defrost settings: MEAT, POULTRY, FISH, and BREAD. For example, to defrost 1.4 Kg of frozen poultry:

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Weigh the food. Remove any metallic ties or wraps. Place the food on a microwave-safe dish on the low rack on the metal tray and close the door.

3. Press Auto Defrost.

4. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “dEF2” (for Poultry).

5. Press Enter/Clock for category confirmation.

6. Turn the CONTROL dial knob until the display shows “1.4 kg”.

7. Press START/Q-START.

During defrosting, the oven will “BEEP”. At this point, open the door, turn the food over, and separate portions to ensure even thawing. Close the door and press START/Q-START to resume. The oven will not stop defrosting unless the door is opened.

Auto Defrosting Guide:

If you find that your food is over or undercooked when using a SPEED AUTO COOK program, you can increase or decrease the cooking time by turning the CONTROL dial knob during cooking (this function does not work in defrost or deodorize modes).

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Set the required Speed Auto Cook program and select the weight of the food.

3. Press START/Q-START.

4. During cooking, turn the CONTROL dial knob to increase or decrease the time.

Time Adjustment Increments:

This special function removes smells from the oven. Use it without any food inside the oven.

1. Press STOP/CLEAR.

2. Turn the FUNCTION dial to select deodorize.

3. Press Enter/Clock for deodorize confirmation.

4. Press START/Q-START. The time will count down automatically.

Never use metal or metal-trimmed utensils in microwave function, as they can cause arcing.

To test a utensil: Place the utensil in question next to a glass bowl filled with water in the microwave. Microwave at HIGH power for 1 minute. If the water heats up but the utensil remains cool, it is microwave-safe. If the utensil becomes warm, it is not safe for use in microwave function.

Dinner plates: Many are microwave-safe. If in doubt, consult the manufacturer’s literature or perform the microwave test.

Glassware: Heat-resistant glassware is microwave-safe. Do not use delicate glassware like tumblers or wine glasses, as they might shatter.

Plastic storage containers: Can be used for quick reheating. Do not use for foods that need considerable time in the oven, as they may warp or melt.

Paper: Paper plates and containers are safe for short cooking times with low-fat, low-moisture foods. Avoid colored paper products. Some recycled paper may contain impurities that could cause arcing or fires.

Plastic cooking bags: Only use bags made specifically for cooking. Be sure to make a slit in the bag for steam to escape.

Plastic microwave cookware: A variety of shapes and sizes are available and safe to use.

Pottery, stoneware and ceramic: These are usually fine for microwave use, but should be tested to be sure.

CAUTION: Some items with high lead or iron content are not suitable for cooking utensils. Utensils should be checked to ensure they are suitable for use in microwave function.

1. Keep the inside of the oven clean: Wipe up food spatters or spilled liquids with a damp cloth right away. Crumbs and spillovers absorb microwave energy and lengthen cooking times. Use a damp cloth to wipe out crumbs that fall between the door and the frame. Remove greasy spatters with a soapy cloth, then rinse and dry. Do not use harsh detergent or abrasive cleaners. The metal tray can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.

2. Keep the outside of the oven clean: Clean the outside of your oven with soap and water, then with clean water, and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. To prevent damage, do not allow water to seep into ventilation openings. To clean the control panel, open the door to prevent the oven from starting, and wipe with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth. Press STOP/CLEAR after cleaning.

3. If steam accumulates: If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe the panels with a soft cloth.

4. Keep door and door seals clean: Use only warm, soapy water, rinse, then dry thoroughly. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE MATERIALS, SUCH AS CLEANING POWDERS OR STEEL AND PLASTIC PADS.

5. Do not use any steam cleaner.

There may be several reasons why the oven light will not glow:

• The light bulb has blown.

• The relay has failed.

No. The holes, or ports, are made to allow light to pass; they do not let microwave energy through.

The beep tone sounds to assure that the setting is being properly entered.

Yes. Never run it empty or without the metal tray.

When baking, frying, or poaching eggs, the yolk may pop due to steam buildup inside the yolk membrane. To prevent this, simply pierce the yolk before cooking. Never microwave eggs in the shell.

After microwave cooking is finished, food continues to cook during standing time. This standing time finishes cooking evenly throughout the food. The amount of standing time depends on the density of the food.

Yes, if using one of the two methods described below:

1. Popcorn-popping utensils designed specifically for microwave cooking.

2. Prepackaged commercial microwave popcorn that contains specific times and power outputs needed for an acceptable final product.

FOLLOW EXACT DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY EACH MANUFACTURER FOR THEIR POPCORN PRODUCT. DO NOT LEAVE THE OVEN UNATTENDED WHILE THE CORN IS BEING POPPED. IF CORN FAILS TO POP AFTER THE SUGGESTED TIMES, DISCONTINUE COOKING. OVERCOOKING COULD RESULT IN THE CORN CATCHING FIRE.

CAUTION: NEVER USE A BROWN PAPER BAG FOR POPPING CORN. NEVER ATTEMPT TO POP LEFTOVER KERNELS.

Cooking guide times and heat settings are suggestions, chosen to help prevent overcooking, the most common problem in getting used to this oven. Variations in the size, shape, weight, and dimensions of the food require longer cooking time. Use your own judgement along with the cooking guide suggestions to test food condition, just as you would do with a conventional cooker.
