When installing your LG LW6014ER, please follow these important safety warnings:

• Power Cord and Outlet: Do not use a damaged power cord, plug, or a loose socket. Always plug into a grounded outlet. Do not modify or extend the power cord length.

• Product Handling: Do not disassemble or modify the product. Be cautious when unpacking and installing, as sharp edges may cause injury.

For safe operation of your LG LW6014ER, please adhere to these warnings:

• Power Cord: Do not place heavy objects on the power cord or press it. Do not place the power cord near a heater. To unplug, hold the head of the plug and do not touch it with wet hands. Do not operate or stop the unit by inserting or pulling out the power plug.

• Outlet: Do not share the outlet with other appliances.

• Water Exposure: Do not allow water to run into electric parts. If water enters the product, turn off the power switch of the main body, unplug it, and contact a service center. Do not operate with wet hands or in a damp environment.

• Unusual Operation: Unplug the unit if you hear strange sounds, smell odors, or see smoke coming from it.

• During Operation: Do not open the suction inlet grill during operation. Do not insert hands or bars through the air inlet or outlet.

Please note the following cautions when operating your LG LW6014ER:

• Do not use this appliance for special purposes such as cooling pets, foods, precision machinery, or objects of art. It is an air conditioner, not a precision refrigeration system.

• Do not block the inlet or outlet of air flow, as it may cause product failure.

• Do not step on the indoor/outdoor unit or place anything on it.

Preparing for Operation

1. Contact an installation specialist for installation.

2. Plug in the power plug properly.

3. Use a dedicated circuit.

4. Do not use an extension cord.

5. Do not start/stop operation by plugging/unplugging the power cord.

6. If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with only an authorized replacement part.

Usage

1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health.

2. There is no correlation between fan usage and oxygen depletion.

3. Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified special purposes (e.g., preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items.

Electrical Requirements:

• Wall Receptacle: Use a standard 125V, 3-wire grounding receptacle rated 15A, 125V AC.

• Power Supply: Use a 15 AMP time delay fuse or 15 AMP circuit breaker.

• Extension Cords: DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD. All wiring should be made in accordance with local electrical codes. If you have aluminum house wiring, consult a qualified electrician.

Power Cord Safety Device:

The power cord on your LG LW6014ER may include a current interrupter device with TEST and RESET buttons on the plug case.

1. The device should be tested periodically. First press the TEST button, and then the RESET button.

2. If the TEST button does not trip or if the RESET button will not stay engaged, you should discontinue use of the air conditioner and contact a qualified service technician.

WARNING: Never push the test button during operation, as this can damage the plug.

For your personal safety, the LG LW6014ER must be properly grounded. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong (grounding) plug. Use this with a standard three-slot (grounding) wall power outlet to minimize the hazard of electric shock. The customer should have the wall receptacle and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to ensure it is properly grounded.

DO NOT CUT OR REMOVE THE THIRD (GROUND) PRONG FROM THE POWER PLUG.

Using Adapters:

Due to potential safety hazards, the use of an adapter plug is strongly discouraged. If you must use one for a TEMPORARY CONNECTION, use a UL-listed adapter. The large slot in the adapter must align with the large slot in the receptacle for proper polarity.

CAUTION: Attaching the adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal, not insulated, and the wall receptacle is grounded through the house wiring. Have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to be sure.

Do not use an adapter plug if the appliance will be disconnected often, as this can lead to breakage of the ground terminal. The wall outlet should be replaced with a three-slot (grounding) outlet instead.

Window Size Requirements:

The LG LW6014ER is designed for installation in standard double-hung windows.

• Opening Width: 22″ to 36″

• Clear Vertical Opening: 13″ minimum (from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool).

WARNING: This product is a WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER. A standard single-hung or double-hung window is required. Non-window installations (using sleeves, holes in walls, etc.) are not recommended.

Clearance for Storm Windows:

If a storm window interferes with installation:

1. Fasten a 2″ wide wood strip across the full width of the inner window sill. The strip must be thick enough to raise the unit so it can be installed without interference from the storm window frame.

2. The top of this wood strip should be approximately 3/4″ higher than the storm window frame to allow proper condensation drainage to the outside.

3. Install a second wood strip (same thickness) in the center of the sill, flush against the back of the inner sill, to raise the L bracket.

1. Install Guide Panels: Insert the guide panels (Type G) into the upper and bottom guide channels of the unit. Fasten the curtains to the unit with 4 screws (Type A) on each side. A long screwdriver will make this easier.

2. Apply Seal Strip: Cut the adhesive-backed seal strip (Type E) to the width of your window. Remove the backing and attach the strip to the underside of the bottom window sash.

3. Mark Center Line: Open the window and mark a center line on the center of the inner sill.

4. Attach L Brackets: Install the two L brackets (Type D) behind the inner window sill, with the short side of the bracket down. Use the 2 provided screws (Type A). Ensure the bracket edge is flush against the back of the inner sill. The brackets should be placed about 8 inches to each side of the center line.

Caution: During the following steps, hold the unit firmly until the window sash is lowered to the top channel behind the side panel frames. Personal injury or property damage may result if the unit falls from the window.

1. Position the Air Conditioner:

• Set the air conditioner in the window so that it is centered. The front edge of the bottom guide should be against the back edge of the sill.

• Bring the window sash down so that the front edge of the upper guide is in front of the window. Make sure the air conditioner is level or tilting slightly to the outside (about 1/4″ down at the back) for proper drainage.

2. Secure the Guide Panels:

• Extend the guide panels (Type G) to fill the window opening. Secure them using 4 screws (Type B).

3. Install the Sash Seal and Sash Lock:

• Cut the sash seal (Type F) to the window width. Stuff the seal between the glass and the window to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

• Fasten the L bracket (the one on the top window sash) using a screw (Type A).

CAUTION: To prevent broken glass or damage to vinyl or other similarly constructed windows, attach the window locking bracket to the window side jamb with one Type A screw.

1. Remove the screw from the right side of the cabinet.

2. Fasten the support bracket (Type H) to the cabinet using the screw you just removed.

3. Attach the other end of the support bracket (Type H) to the inner window sill with a screw (Type B).

4. The window installation of your LG LW6014ER is now complete. You can now attach the power cord to an electrical outlet.

• POWER (1): Press this button to turn the air conditioner on or off.

• FAN SPEED SELECTOR (2): Use to set the fan speed to Low (F1), MED (F2), or High (F3).

• ON/OFF TIMER (3):

– Delay ON: When the air conditioner is off, it can be set to automatically turn on from 1 to 24 hours at its previous mode and fan settings.

– Delay OFF: When the air conditioner is on, it can be set to automatically turn off from 1 to 24 hours.

• OPERATION MODE SELECTOR (4): Push the MODE button to rotate between Energy Saver / Cool / Fan / Dry modes.

• TEMPERATURE CONTROL (5): Press the TEMP ∧ / ∨ buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The thermostat can be set between 60°F and 86°F (16°C and 30°C).

• FILTER RESET (6): After cleaning the air filter, press this button to turn off the ‘Clean Filter’ light on the unit.

• Energy Saver: In this mode, the fan stops when the compressor stops cooling. Approximately every 3 minutes, the fan will turn on to check the room air temperature to see if cooling is needed. The unit defaults to this mode each time it is switched on, except after a power outage.

• Cool: The compressor runs to cool the room. Use the TEMP and FAN buttons to set the desired temperature and fan speed.

• Fan: The fan circulates air, but the compressor does not run. Use the FAN button to set the desired fan speed.

• Dry: This mode is used to remove humidity from the room without significant cooling. Once the set temperature is reached, the compressor and fan turn off. Fan speed is pre-set and cannot be adjusted in this mode.

• Auto Restart: If there is a power failure, the unit will automatically restart with its previous settings once power is restored.

FILTER RESET:

The ‘Clean Filter’ LED on the unit will light up after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the air filter. After cleaning the filter, press the ‘Filter Reset’ button on the remote control to turn off the light.

Inserting the Remote Control Battery:

1. Push out the cover on the back of the remote control with your thumb.

2. Paying attention to the polarity (+/-), insert one new AAA 1.5V battery.

3. Reattach the cover.

NOTICE:

• Do not use a rechargeable battery. Ensure the battery is new.

• Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (Nickel-cadmium) batteries.

• Remove the battery if the air conditioner will not be used for an extended period.

• For optimal operation, the remote sensor should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

You can adjust the air direction on your LG LW6014ER using the horizontal air deflector control. By using the control tabs, the air flow can be directed to the left, right, straight ahead, or any combination of these directions.

Slinger Fan:

Your LG LW6014ER is equipped with a slinger fan. This fan has an outer ring that runs in the water that collects in the base pan. When the water level gets deep enough, the condensate is picked up by the fan and expelled through the condenser. This process makes the air conditioner more efficient.

Drain Pipe:

In humid weather, excess water may cause the base pan to overflow. To drain this water, you can remove the drain cap from the rear hole of the base pan and secure the drain pipe (Type C). Press the drain pipe into the hole by pushing down and away from the fins to avoid injury.

Check the air filter at least twice a month. Trapped particles can block airflow, reduce cooling capacity, and cause frost to build up on the evaporator. To clean the air filter:

1. Pull the inlet grille forward. Do not force it open too far.

2. Remove the air filter from the front grille by pulling it up slightly.

3. Wash the filter using lukewarm water below 40°C (104 °F).

4. Gently shake the excess water from the filter and replace it.

Cleaning The Air Conditioner:

• The front grille and inlet grille may be wiped with a cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution.

• The cabinet may be washed with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water, then polished with liquid wax for appliances.

Condenser Coils:

To ensure continued peak efficiency, the condenser coils (outside of the unit) should be checked periodically and cleaned if they are clogged with soot or dirt from the atmosphere.

1. Turn the air conditioner off and disconnect the power cord.

2. Remove the L bracket, the screws, and the support bracket installed through the guide panels. Save these parts for reinstallation.

3. Close the guide panels.

4. Keeping a firm grip on the air conditioner, raise the window sash.

5. Carefully tilt the air conditioner backward to drain any condensate water from the base pan. Be sure to drain ALL condensate to prevent making a mess or creating a slipping hazard.

6. Lift the air conditioner from the window and remove the sash seal from between the windows.

If your LG LW6014ER will not operate, check the following:

1. Ensure that the air conditioner is plugged into an outlet of the proper voltage and amperage.

2. Check the fuse or circuit breaker.

3. Check whether the voltage is unusually high or low.

If the cooling seems insufficient on your LG LW6014ER, check these points:

1. Ensure that the temperature settings are correct.

2. Check to see if the air filter is clogged with dust. If so, clean the filter.

3. Ensure that the air flow from the outside is not obstructed and that there is a clearance of over 20″ between the back of the air conditioner and the wall or fence behind it.

4. Close all doors and windows and check for any source of heat in the room.

• Sound of Rushing Air: At the front of the unit, you may hear the sound of rushing air being moved by the fan.

• High pitched Chatter: Today’s high-efficiency compressors may have a high-pitched chatter during the cooling cycle.

• Pinging or Swishing: Droplets of water hitting the condenser during normal operation may cause “pinging or swishing” sounds. This is related to the Slinger Fan.

• Gurgle/Hiss: “Gurgling or hissing” noise may be heard due to refrigerant passing through the evaporator during normal operation.

• Vibration: The unit may vibrate and make noise because of poor wall or window construction or incorrect installation.
