Follow these steps to attach the stand to your LG 43LF5900:

1. Place the TV with the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect the screen from scratches. The original packing material is ideal for this.

2. Align the two stand pieces with the corresponding slots on the bottom of the TV.

3. Insert the four provided screws (b – M4 x L14) into the holes and tighten them securely using a screwdriver.

4. Carefully lift the TV into its upright position on a stable, flat surface.

After connecting all necessary cables to your LG 43LF5900, you can gather them together and use the included cable management tie to keep them organized and neat behind the TV.

Follow these steps to install batteries in the remote control:

1. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote.

2. Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring you match the (+) and (-) ends to the labels inside the compartment.

3. Close the battery cover securely.

To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse.

CAUTION: Do not mix old and new batteries, as this may damage the remote control.

The LG 43LF5900 qualifies for ENERGY STAR in the factory default (Home Configuration) setting. Changing the factory default settings or enabling other features may increase power consumption that could exceed the limits necessary to qualify for ENERGY STAR.

Always comply with the following precautions to ensure peak performance and avoid dangerous situations:

• Do not use this apparatus near water.

• Clean only with a dry cloth.

• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

• Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.

• Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

• Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

• Do not press strongly upon the panel with a hand or a sharp object.

• Ensure the TV is properly grounded to prevent possible electric shock.

• Do not expose the TV to dripping or splashing and do not place objects filled with liquids on or over it.

To clean your TV regularly and extend its lifespan, follow these steps:

1. Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

2. For the screen, frame, cabinet, and stand, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth to remove dust or light dirt.

3. To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

4. Regularly remove any accumulated dust or dirt from the power cord.

CAUTION:

• Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object.

• Do not spray liquid directly onto the TV surface.

• Do not use any chemicals such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or lubricants, as these may damage the screen’s finish and cause discoloration.

When moving or lifting the TV, follow these instructions to prevent it from being scratched or damaged:

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• Use at least two people to move a large TV.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Make sure not to hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grille area.

• When transporting the TV, do not expose it to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright; never turn the TV on its side or tilt it towards the left or right.

• Be careful not to damage the protruding joystick button when handling the TV.

Proper ventilation is crucial for your LG 43LF5900. Follow these guidelines:

• Install your TV where there is proper ventilation. Do not install it in a confined space such as a bookcase.

• When mounting on a table, leave a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) of space from the wall for proper ventilation.

• Do not cover the product with cloth or other materials while it is plugged in.

• Do not install in excessively dusty places.

• Take care not to touch the ventilation openings. When watching the TV for a long period, the ventilation openings may become hot. This is normal and does not affect the performance or cause defects in the product.

The sounds you may hear from your LG 43LF5900 are generally normal and do not indicate a malfunction:

• Cracking noise: A cracking noise that occurs when watching or turning off the TV is generated by plastic thermal contraction due to temperature and humidity. This noise is common for products where thermal deformation is required.

• Electrical circuit humming/panel buzzing: A low-level noise is generated from a high-speed switching circuit, which supplies a large amount of current to operate the product. It varies depending upon the product. This generated sound does not affect the performance and reliability of the product.

If a fixed image displays on the TV screen for a long period of time, it can become imprinted and cause a permanent disfigurement known as image burn or burn-in. This is not covered by the warranty. To prevent this:

• Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours).

• If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period of time, image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen. Avoid using the 4:3 format for extended periods.

The joystick button, located on the TV, can be used for basic controls:

• Power On: When the TV is off, place your finger on the joystick button, press it once, and release it.

• Power Off: When the TV is on, press and hold the joystick button for a few seconds, then release it. All running apps will close.

• Volume Control: Move the joystick button left or right to adjust the volume level.

• Channels Control: Move the joystick button up or down to adjust the channel.

NOTE: Be careful not to press the joystick button when you intend to move it up, down, left, or right. If you press it first, you may not be able to adjust the volume or scroll through channels.

When the TV is turned on, press the joystick button one time to bring up the control menu. You can then adjust the menu items by moving the joystick button up, down, left, or right. The menu options include:

• Power Off: Turns the power off.

• Settings: Accesses the quick settings.

• Exit: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

• Input: Changes the input source.

1. After assembling the stand, lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a stable, flat table.

2. Leave a 10 cm (4 inches) minimum space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat, as this may result in fire or other damage.

This is an optional step to prevent the TV from being pulled or pushed, causing injury. It is highly recommended if you have children.

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts (or TV brackets and bolts) on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in this position, remove them first.

2. Mount wall brackets with bolts to the wall. The wall brackets should be at the same height as or lower than the eye-bolts on the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts on the TV and the wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope or cable. Make sure to keep the rope parallel to the flat surface.

NOTE: Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely. Brackets, bolts, and ropes are optional and can be obtained from your local dealer.

When using an optional wall mount, ensure it meets the VESA standard for the LG 43LF5900.

• Disconnect the power before moving or installing the TV to avoid electric shock.

• Remove the stand before installing the TV on a wall mount by performing the stand attachment in reverse.

• If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount.

• Do not overtighten the screws as this may cause damage to the TV and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. Any damages or injuries from misuse or using an improper accessory are not covered by the warranty.

• It is recommended to use an LG brand wall mount. If using a different brand, ensure the device is adequately secured to the wall with enough space to allow connectivity to external devices.

• If using a non-adjustable mount, attach the mount to the wall first. Attach the cables to the TV, then attach the TV to the mount.

Connect an antenna, cable, or cable box to watch TV by plugging the RF cable into the ‘ANTENNA/CABLE IN’ port on the back of the TV.

CAUTION: Make sure not to bend the copper wire of the RF cable.

NOTE:

• Use a signal splitter to use 2 TVs or more.

• DTV Audio Supported Codecs are MPEG and Dolby Digital.

• (POWER) Turns the TV on or off.

• INPUT Changes the input source.

• CAPTION Activates or deactivates subtitles.

• RATIO Resizes an image.

• TV Returns to the last TV channel.

• Number button Enters numbers.

• – (Dash) Inserts a dash between numbers such as 2-1 and 2-2.

• LIST Accesses the saved channel list.

• FLASHBK Alternates between the two last channels selected (pressing repeatedly).

• + VOL – Adjusts the volume level.

• FAV Accesses your favorite channel list.

• INFO Shows information on the current program.

• MUTE Mutes all sounds.

• CH (up/down arrows) Scrolls through the saved channels.

• PAGE (up/down arrows) Moves to the previous or next screen.

The LG 43LF5900 has two sets of connection ports, located on the side and rear of the TV.

Side Panel Ports:

• HDMI IN 1 (ARC): Connects HD devices like Blu-ray players or game consoles. This port supports Audio Return Channel (ARC).

• HDMI IN 2: Connects additional HD devices.

• USB IN 1 & 2: Connects USB storage devices like flash drives or external hard drives for media playback.

Rear Panel Ports:

• ANTENNA/CABLE IN: Connects an antenna or cable service for watching broadcast TV.

• COMPONENT IN / AV IN: Connects devices with component (Y, PB, PR) or composite (Video) outputs, such as older DVD players or VCRs. Includes L/R audio inputs.

• OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT: Connects to an external audio system like a soundbar or home theater receiver using an optical cable.

• LAN: Connects to your wired network for internet access.

• PC-AUDIO IN: For use with PC connections (though HDMI is preferred).

• SERVICE ONLY: For use by service technicians only.

• For the best picture and audio quality, connect the external device and the TV with an HDMI cable.

• Connect external devices to the TV regardless of the order of the TV port.

• If you connect a gaming device to the TV, use the cable supplied with the gaming device.

• Refer to the external equipment’s manual for operating instructions.

• In PC mode, there may be noise associated with the resolution, vertical pattern, contrast, or brightness. If noise is present, change the PC output to another resolution, change the refresh rate, or adjust the brightness and contrast on the PICTURE menu until the picture is clear.

• Complete all connections between devices, and then connect the power cord to the power outlet to prevent damage to your TV.
