If a fixed image is displayed on your LG 42LM6700 screen for a long period, it can become imprinted and result in a permanent disfigurement known as “image burn” or “burn-in”. This is not covered by the warranty. To prevent this, follow these guidelines:

• Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours for an LCD TV).

• If you set the aspect ratio of the TV to 4:3 for a long period, image burn may occur on the letterboxed area of the screen.

Viewing Environment and Duration:

• When watching 3D content, take a 5 to 15-minute break every hour. Prolonged viewing may cause headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or eye strain.

• Maintain a viewing distance of at least twice the screen’s diagonal length.

Age Considerations:

• Viewing 3D content is prohibited for children under the age of 5.

• Children under 10 may overreact and require special monitoring. They perceive more stereoscopic depth than adults.

• Teenagers under 19 should not watch 3D videos for a long time when tired.

• The elderly may perceive less of a 3D effect. Do not sit closer than the recommended distance.

Health Considerations:

• Some users may experience seizures or other abnormal symptoms when exposed to flashing lights or patterns from 3D content.

• Do not watch 3D videos if you feel nausea, are pregnant, or have a chronic illness such as epilepsy, cardiac disorder, or blood pressure disease.

• 3D content is not recommended for those with stereo blindness or stereo anomaly.

• If you have strabismus (cross-eyed), amblyopia (weak eyesight), or astigmatism, you may feel fatigue easily. Take frequent breaks.

Symptoms Requiring Discontinuation:

• If you feel fatigue from lack of sleep, overwork, or drinking, do not watch 3D content.

• If you experience symptoms like headache, eyeball pain, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, blurriness, discomfort, double image, or visual inconvenience, stop watching 3D content and rest until the symptom subsides. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

• Make sure to use LG 3D glasses. Otherwise, you may not be able to view 3D videos properly.

• Do not use 3D glasses in place of normal glasses, sunglasses, or protective goggles.

• Using modified 3D glasses may cause eye strain or image distortion.

• Do not store your 3D glasses in extremely high or low temperatures, as this can cause deformation.

• The 3D glasses are fragile and easily scratched. Always use a soft, clean cloth to wipe the lenses. Do not scratch them with sharp objects or clean them with chemicals.

1. Open the package and ensure all accessories are included. Check your product box for items like the Magic Remote Control, batteries, owner’s manual, stand screws, stand body, stand base, and cables. The exact items may vary by model.

2. Attach the stand to the TV set.

3. Connect an external device to the TV set.

4. Make sure the network connection is available. TV network functions are only usable when a network connection is made.

The buttons are located on the side or bottom of your TV. Their functions are as follows:

Your TV also features an Intelligent Sensor, which adjusts the image quality and brightness based on the surrounding environment.

To prevent scratches or damage, follow these instructions when moving or lifting your TV:

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may damage it.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the original box or packing material.

• Before moving, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• When transporting a large TV, there should be at least two people.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

• When transporting, do not expose the TV to jolts or excessive vibration.

• Keep the TV upright during transport; never turn it on its side or tilt it.

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Attach the Stand Body to the Stand Base.

3. Secure the assembled stand to the back of the TV using the provided stand screws (e.g., M4 x 20). There are typically 4 screws for the main connection and 4 for the base connection.

4. Tighten the screws firmly to prevent the TV from tilting forward.

Placing on a Table:

1. After attaching the stand, lift and tilt the TV into its upright position on a table.

2. Leave a minimum of 10 cm (4 inches) of space between the TV and the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Adjusting the Angle:

You can swivel the TV 10±2 degrees to the left or right to adjust the viewing angle.

Securing to a Table (model dependent):

To prevent the TV from tilting or falling, you can secure it to a table.

1. Connect the Desk-mount Cables to the Stand Base using the Bracket Screws.

2. Fix the other end of the Desk-mount Cables to the table using the Desk-mount Screws.

3. Once fixed, move the table close to the wall.

When wall-mounting your LG 42LM6700, use screws and a wall mount bracket that meet the VESA standard. It is recommended that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

Important Cautions:

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• Use an authorized LG wall mount. If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and cause severe injury.

• Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may damage the TV and void your warranty.

1. Gather and bind the cables together using the provided cable holder.

2. Fix the cable management clip firmly to the TV to keep the cables tidy at the back.

Caution: Do not move the TV by holding the cable holder or power cord holder, as they may break, leading to injury or damage to the TV.

Antenna or Cable:

Connect your antenna or cable to the ANTENNA/CABLE input port using a coaxial (75Ω) cable.

HD Receiver, Blu-ray/DVD Player (HDMI Connection):

Use an HDMI cable to connect your device to any of the HDMI IN ports. This is the best method for digital video and audio. The HDMI IN 1 port supports ARC (Audio Return Channel), which allows digital audio to be sent to a compatible audio device without a separate optical cable.

Device with DVI Output:

Use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect the device’s DVI OUT to the TV’s HDMI IN 4 (PC) port. For audio, connect a separate audio cable from the device’s AUDIO OUT to the TV’s (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port.

Component Connection:

Use a component video cable (Green, Blue, Red) and an audio cable (White, Red) to connect the device’s component outputs to the TV’s COMPONENT IN and AV IN ports. Ensure you match the colors correctly.

Composite Connection:

Use a composite video cable (Yellow) and an audio cable (White, Red) to connect the device’s outputs to the TV’s AV IN ports. Match the colors correctly.

PC Connection:

• Method A (HDMI): Connect your PC’s HDMI output to any HDMI IN port on the TV. This is the recommended method.

• Method B (DVI): Connect your PC’s DVI output to the TV’s HDMI IN 4 (PC) port using a DVI-to-HDMI cable, and connect audio separately as described above.

• Method C (RGB): Connect your PC’s RGB OUT to the TV’s RGB IN (PC) port using an RGB cable, and connect audio from the PC’s AUDIO OUT to the TV’s (RGB/HDMI-PC) AUDIO IN port.

External Audio System:

Use a Digital Optical Audio cable to connect the TV’s OPTICAL DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port to your audio system’s OPTICAL AUDIO IN port. After connecting, set the TV speaker feature to ‘Off’ in the menu.

USB Device:

Connect a USB storage device (flash memory, external hard drive) to any of the USB IN ports to access multimedia files. Port 3 is designated for USB Apps, Port 2 for a USB Hub, and Port 1 for an HDD.

First, ensure you have registered the Magic Remote. To register, point it at the TV and press the Wheel (OK) button. If you need to re-register, press the BACK and HOME buttons together for 5 seconds to reset it, then register again.

Basic Functions:

• Pointer: Move the remote to control the on-screen pointer. If the pointer disappears, shake the remote slightly from side to side.

• POWER: Turns the TV on or off.

• BACK: Returns to the previous screen.

• HOME: Accesses the Home menu.

• Wheel (OK): Press to select menus or options. Scroll the wheel to navigate saved channels.

When the message “Magic remote control battery is low” appears, replace the batteries. Open the battery cover, replace the two 1.5 V AA batteries matching the + and – ends, and close the cover.

1. Connect the power cord to a power outlet.

2. In Standby mode, press the power button on the remote control to turn on the TV. The Initial Setting screen will appear.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to customize your settings:

• Language Selection: Select a language for the on-screen display.

• Using the Magic remote control: Sets up the Magic remote.

• Environment Selection: Select ‘Home’ for the home environment. The ‘Store’ option is for retail demo mode.

• Time Zone Setting: Select your time zone and daylight saving options.

• Network Connection: Sets up your network to enable network-related features.

• Auto Tuning: Scans and saves available channels automatically.

• Auto Energy Saving mode Setting: Selects the Auto Energy Saving mode.

• 3D-On-Start Setting: Selects the 3D start option (For 3D TVs).

• Setting is completed: Confirms the setting options.

4. When the basic settings are complete, press the Wheel (OK) button to finish.

1. Press the HOME button on your remote to access the HOME menu.

2. Select User Guide and press the Wheel (OK) button.

Once in the User Guide, you can:

• View descriptions of selected menu items.

• Select a category and item to read about.

• Select ‘Try Now’ to move directly to the menu screen for that function.

• Zoom in or out of the screen for better readability.

• Check the remote control sensor on the TV and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the TV and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and are properly installed (+ to + and – to -).

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

• Check if there is a problem in the wall outlet by connecting other products to it.

• Check the power control settings. The power supply may have been interrupted.

• Check if the Auto sleep feature is activated in the Time settings menu.

• If there is no signal while the TV is on, it will automatically turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Clean your TV regularly to maintain the best performance and extend its lifespan.

Initial Steps:

• Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.

Screen, Frame, Cabinet, and Stand:

• For dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• For major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then, immediately wipe with a dry cloth.

Caution:

• Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may cause scratches and image distortions.

• Do not use chemicals such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners, or lubricants, as they may damage the screen’s finish and cause discoloration.

• Do not spray liquid directly onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or malfunction.

Power Cord:

• Remove accumulated dust or dirt from the power cord regularly.

Flat panel displays are not always supported on proper stands or installed according to manufacturer recommendations. A display inappropriately placed on a dresser, bookcase, shelf, desk, or cart may fall over and cause injury.

TUNE INTO SAFETY:

• Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the safe installation and use of your flat panel display.

• Carefully read and understand all enclosed instructions for proper use of this product.

• Do not allow children to climb on or play with furniture and television sets.

• Do not place the flat panel display on furniture that can easily be used as steps, such as a chest of drawers.

• Place or install the display where it cannot be pushed, pulled over, or knocked down.

• Route all cords and cables so they cannot be pulled or grabbed by curious children.

IF YOU DECIDE TO WALL MOUNT:

• Use a mount recommended by the display manufacturer and/or listed by an independent laboratory (such as UL, CSA, ETL).

• Follow all instructions supplied by the display and wall mount manufacturers.

• If you have doubts about your ability to safely install the display, contact your retailer for professional installation.

• Ensure the wall is appropriate for mounting. Some walls (e.g., steel studs, cinder block) require special installation.

• A minimum of two people are required for installation as flat panel displays can be heavy.
