What is the KMINA PRO Bed Rail for?
The KMINA BED RAIL is designed to prevent users from falling out of bed, as well as to provide additional support when getting in and out of bed. Foldable and with legs, it is intended for the elderly, people with a disability or injury who need extra support in bed. It is suitable for mattresses from 90 to 180 cm (35.4″ – 70.9″) wide.
What components are included with the bed rail?
The following components are included:
(A) x1 Handrail
(B) x1 Right leg
(C) x1 Left leg
(D) x1 Lower frame
(E) x1 Horizontal tube
(F) x4 Screws
Materials: Metal, fabric and Nylon.
What are the dimensions of the bed rail?
Handrail Width: 63 cm / 24.8″
Height (adjustable): 80 cm – 103 cm / 31.4″ – 40.6″
Under-mattress frame width: 90 cm / 35.5″
How do I assemble the KMINA PRO Bed Rail?
1. Insert both legs (B) and (C) into the handrail (A) to form the lower structure, making sure that the lock is correctly positioned. Check that the two legs are in the same adjustment.
2. Fit the shorter part of the lower frame (D) into the tubes of the handrail (A) by means of the locking clips. Check that both clicks have come out of the correct hole and that it is securely fastened.
3. Finally, fit the horizontal tube (E) into the tubes of the lower frame (D) using the locking clips to complete the assembly of the folding bed rail.
How do I adjust the height of the bed rail?
Select one of the 3 settings of the handrail (A) and adjust both parts to the same height using the safety click. Do the same with the legs (B and C), adjusting them to one of their 8 settings. Check that the safety click has come out completely through the desired hole and is securely fastened.
How do I adjust the legs?
The legs (B and C) can be extended by up to 2.5 inches (7 cm). To do this, turn the thread on the legs counterclockwise. The feet must be positioned vertically towards the floor.
How do I install the bed rail on the bed?
Slide the bed rail under the mattress as shown. It may be necessary to raise the mattress slightly to position the rail correctly. Push the rail all the way in until the outside of the rail is at the edge of the mattress. Make sure the rail is fully slid under the mattress.
How do I use the safety belt?
Unfasten the seat belt and adjust the length with the pin so that the distance between the rail and the metal stopper is approximately equal to the width of the mattress. Stretch the red strap until the metal stopper is fully engaged with the mattress. Check that the rail is correctly slid under the mattress and tighten it securely with the safety belt.
How do I secure the bed rail to the bed base for added security?
For added security, use the 4 screws (F) provided in the box to screw the lower rails to the bed base, inserting them through both holes of each rail.
How do I fold the bed rail down?
Grasp the padded bar and the top bar with one hand and squeeze to unlock the bed rail. Once unlocked, the rail can be folded down to facilitate getting in and out of bed.
What are the important safety warnings to consider?
Read the instructions carefully before use to ensure proper installation.
This product should only be installed by physically and mentally capable adults.
Do not use two bed rails together on the same side of the bed to avoid being trapped between the two bed rails. The bed rail can be used on both sides of the bed if necessary.
The bed rail is for adult use only. It is NOT intended for use as a child safety system.
This product is to be used as a support. Do not allow the user’s full weight to fall on it. This bed rail is not a backrest.
Do not use this product if any parts are missing or broken. Regularly check all materials and parts.
Do not use the bed rail without the cover. If the cover is being washed, keep an eye on the space between the bars. Do not put your head or any part of your body that could get caught between the bars.
If the user suffers from an injury, illness or is taking medication, he/she should consult a doctor before using it.
If the bed rail is not used correctly, serious accidents can occur.
Do not exceed the maximum supported user weight of 290 lb.
Any serious incident related to the product should be reported to the manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State in which they are user and patient set.
How do I clean and maintain the bed rail?
Clean the bed rail with a damp cloth.
The polyester fabric cover can be hand washed.
Any replacement parts should be obtained from the manufacturer.
