Please adhere to the following safety instructions when using your KLEENMAID LDVF70 clothes dryer:

CAUTION: RISK OF FIRE!

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• The tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.

• The lint trap has to be cleaned frequently.

• Lint must not be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer.

• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.

• Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side to that of the tumble dryer, in such a way that a full opening of the tumble dryer door is restricted.

• The appliance should not be overturned during normal use or maintenance.

• Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.

• Ventilation openings in the base must not be obstructed by carpets or other floor coverings.

• The plug must be accessible after installation.

• The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by a utility.

• Remove all packaging before using the appliance, otherwise serious damage may result.

• Adequate ventilation must be provided to avoid the back flow of gases into the room from appliances burning other fuels, including open fires.

To prevent fire hazards and damage, avoid drying the following items in your KLEENMAID LDVF70:

• Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.

• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads.

• Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and create a fire hazard.

• Articles that have been cleaned in, washed in, soaked in or spotted with combustible or explosive substances (such as wax, oil, paint, gasoline, degreasers, dry-cleaning solvents, kerosene, etc.).

• Articles containing rubber, plastic or similar materials such as padded bras, tennis shoes, galoshes, bath mats, rugs, bibs, baby pants, raincoats, plastic bags or pillows that may melt or burn. Some rubber materials, when heated, can under certain circumstances produce fire by spontaneous combustion.

• Do not dry clothes that have been dry cleaned.

• The dryer uses alternating current with the rated voltage and frequency. It can work normally when the voltage fluctuates up to 6% of the rated voltage.

• A special power socket with a capacity of ≥10A for the dryer should be located close to the dryer for convenience and safety.

• The appliance is Protection Class I and must only be connected to a plug with a protective conductor that has been properly installed. Ensure the mains voltage is correct as per the rating plate.

• The electrical safety of the tumble dryer is only guaranteed when correctly earthed. If in doubt, have the household wiring system tested by a qualified electrician.

• Warning! The socket and grounding wire must be installed by an electrician to prevent incorrect installation and ensure safe use. There must be NO connection between the grounding wire and the neutral wire, as this can cause the cabinet to become charged, creating a risk of electric shock.

• WARNING: It must be ensured that this appliance is connected only to a 230vac +10%/-6% 50Hz mains power supply which continuously complies with the relevant Australian Standard. Failure to do so may seriously damage the appliance.

• Install or store the dryer where it will not be exposed to temperatures below freezing or to water or weather, which could cause permanent damage.

• Keep the area around the exhaust opening and adjacent surroundings free from the accumulation of lint, dust, and dirt. An obstructed port can reduce airflow.

• Thoroughly spin the laundry in a washing machine before drying. A high spin speed can reduce drying time and save energy.

• Ensure combustible sprays are not close to the dryer when it is working. If you detect a gas leak nearby, do not touch the plug or start/pause the dryer.

• Never attempt to operate the appliance if it is damaged, malfunctioning, partially disassembled, or has missing or broken parts, including a damaged cord or plug.

• Do not allow children on or in the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children.

• Do not use the machine with wet hands.

• Do not store plastic, paper, or clothing that may burn or melt on top of the dryer during operation.

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• The door should only be opened after the drying program is completed to avoid being scalded by hot steam or an overheated dryer.

For proper installation of your KLEENMAID LDVF70, please follow these guidelines:

• The dryer should be placed in a ventilated area, with a distance of not less than 10cm from the wall.

• It is suggested there are no obstacles within 1.5m in front of the dryer to ensure proper ventilation.

• Do not install the dryer in the open air or in a place where it can be easily damaged by rain.

• Do not place the back of the dryer near a curtain or anything that can be moved by wind.

• Do not place the dryer near gas or flammable materials.

Once the KLEENMAID LDVF70 is in its permanent operating position, check that it is absolutely level using a spirit level. If it is not level, adjust the feet with a tool. If the dryer is not placed horizontally (the lean angle should be no more than 2°), it may become unbalanced or not work properly.

WARNING: To avoid possible injury, use two or more people to move and install the dryer.

The Accessory Kit includes: Hooks (2), Standoffs (2), Anchor bolts (4), Installation positioning paper (1).

Hanging Procedure:

Step 1: Confirm that all components are in the Accessory Kit.

Step 2: Determine the wall construction and a suitable position. The dryer should only be attached to a solid wall. The clearance distance in front of the wall must be more than 150cm.

Step 3: Paste the installation positioning paper to the solid wall.

a. The bottom edge of the positioning paper must be at least 45cm higher than the floor. Draw a level line as a base for the positioning paper. Ensure the marked screw holes do not overlap with nearby power outlets or taps.

b. Remove the adhesive paper from the back and paste the positioning paper to the wall horizontally.

Step 4: Drill holes for anchor bolts. Using the hole marks on the positioning paper and a 14mm drill bit, drill 4 holes to a depth of 60mm. For tiled walls, use an appropriate 14mm drill bit to pre-drill.

Step 5: Fix the hooks to the wall with anchor bolts.

a. Insert the anchor bolt and tube into the drilled holes. Attach one nut to each bolt. To prevent thread damage, do not expose the end-thread of the bolt. Hammer the 4 bolts into the holes.

b. After hammering the bolts in, remove the nuts to expose the bolts. Place a suitably sized auxiliary tube over the bolt and hammer the tube until the anchor tube is flush with the wall surface.

c. Remove the hooks from the Accessory Kit and attach them to the bolts with a socket or a wrench.

Step 6: Fix the standoffs to the clothes dryer. Place the dryer on the floor. Remove the two appropriate screws from the back of the appliance with a Phillips head screwdriver. Thread these screws through the holes in the standoffs and fasten them into the original screw holes.

• When hanging upright, fix standoffs at the position of the lower two screws.

• When hanging upside down, fix standoffs at the position of the upper two screws.

Step 7: Have two people lift the clothes dryer and align the slots at the back of the dryer with the hooks. Insert the hooks firmly into the slots and lower the dryer onto the hooks.

• When hanging upright, insert hooks into the lower two slots.

• When hanging upside down, insert hooks into the upper two slots.

Step 8: If necessary, fit the inverted control panel label over the existing control panel label.

Before Drying:

1. Plug in the dryer.

2. Load the laundry.

3. Close the door.

Drying:

1. Press the ON button.

2. Select a function or use the default setting.

3. Press the START button.

After Drying (Alert buzzer sounds):

1. Unload the laundry.

2. Clean the filter.

3. Unplug the dryer.

1. Thoroughly spin the laundry in a washing machine before drying to reduce drying time and save energy.

2. Sort the laundry according to fabric type and drying program for a uniform result.

3. Close zips, hooks and eyelets, do up buttons, and tie fabric belts.

4. Do not over-dry clothes, as this can cause creases.

5. Do not dry articles containing rubber or similar elastic materials.

6. The door should only be opened after the program is completed.

7. Clean the lint filter after each use to avoid extending drying time and increasing energy consumption.

8. Do not dry clothes that have been dry cleaned.

Important Notes:

• Do not overload the dryer.

• Not suitable for dripping wet textiles. The dryer could be damaged or even catch fire.

• Not suitable for silk or woolen textiles.

Check the laundry care labels on your articles before drying:

• Circle inside a square: Suitable for tumble drying.

• Circle inside a square with two dots: Normal drying process. Drying in the tumbler is possible under normal load and temperature 80°.

• Circle inside a square with one dot: Mild drying process. Caution is appropriate. Select a mild program with reduced thermal action.

• Circle inside a square with a cross: Do not tumble dry. Articles are unsuitable for drying in the tumbler.

1. On/Off: Switches the product on or off.

2. Start/Pause: Press to start or pause the drying cycle.

3. Program: Selects different dryer cycles (1 Hour, Cotton, Synthetic, or Mix) based on your needs for the most effective results.

4. Dryness Level: Intelli-Dry electronic controls with 3 levels – Ready to Iron, Ready to Hang, and Extra Dry.

5. Anti-Wrinkle: At the end of the drying cycle, the anti-wrinkle phase time is 30 minutes (default) or can be set to 120 minutes. The anti-wrinkle indicator will flash while this phase is active.

Child Lock: To activate the child lock function, press the 【Program】 and 【Dryness Level】 buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Note:

• If the Anti-Wrinkle option is selected, the anti-wrinkle process will be 2 hours; otherwise, it terminates after 30 minutes without this option.

• The room temperature and humidity will affect the drying time.

• Check the clothes care label and choose the corresponding program accordingly.

• “Cotton + Extra Dry” is for AS/NZS energy program.

It is important to clean the lint filter after each use.

1. Remove the filter by pulling it straight up.

2. Use a cloth or your hands to remove the lint.

3. Re-install the filter. If the filter was cleaned with a damp cloth or water, please ensure it is thoroughly dry before installation.

WARNING! Disconnect the power cord before cleaning!

• Clean the dryer with a wet cloth which is only dampened by clean water.

• Do not pour water directly over the machine.

• Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners or all-purpose cleaners, as these could damage plastic surfaces and other parts.

• Before starting the dryer, dry all parts with a soft cloth.

The KLEENMAID LDVF70 has a safety cut-out switch that is activated by temperature. If your dryer is not heating, this button must be reset.

1. The dryer may need to cool down for 10 minutes before the reset can be performed.

2. The safety reset button is located on the backboard of the dryer.

3. Use your finger or a pencil to press the button in until you feel it click.

The most common reason for the dryer to overheat and activate the safety switch is a blocked filter. Ensure you clean the lint filter after each cycle to prevent overheating.

Other reasons the safety cut out switch may operate:

• Exhaust outlets at the back of the dryer are blocked.

• The room is poorly ventilated. Open windows or a door.

• A lightweight garment (e.g., handkerchief) has been sucked over the filter.

If your KLEENMAID LDVF70 does not start, check the following:

• Power cut off: Wait for electricity to be restored.

• The power plug is not plugged in firmly: Check the power socket to make sure the plug is inserted firmly.

• The dryer is overloaded: The clothes must be spun to remove excess water, and the drying load cannot exceed the rated capacity.

• The temperature fuse is cut: Replace the temperature fuse.

If you notice excessive heat or a burnt smell from your KLEENMAID LDVF70, check for these causes:

• The lint filter is clogged: Make sure to clean the lint filter after each cycle.

• The uptake or exhaust duct is clogged: Clean the exhaust duct.

If your clothes are coming out too dry, consider the following:

• The machine is overloaded: Do not exceed the rated capacity.

• Clothes are not removed from the dryer after the program ends: Take out the clothes immediately after the program finishes.

• Clothes are not sorted properly: Follow the instructions on the care label on clothes.

• The selected temperature is too high: Follow the instructions on the care label on clothes.

If your laundry is over-dried, it may shrink. If items are sensitive to shrinking, examine the clothes when they are drying. Take out the clothes when they are damp, then hang them until fully dry.

Pilling can occur if the laundry is sensitive to rubbing. To help prevent this, use a fabric softener to lubricate fibres. You can also spray laundry starch on cuffs and necklines when ironing clothes. Turn the laundry inside out to avoid pilling.

Note:

• The rated capacity is the maximum capacity. Ensure clothes loaded into the appliance do not exceed the rated capacity at any time.

• Do not install the tumble dryer in a room where the temperature is around freezing point, or if there is a risk of frost occurring, as the tumble dryer may not be able to operate efficiently.
