How do I start using the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
Before turning on the unit, ensure that all cables are properly connected and the correct Power Input is adjusted.
1. Remove the device from its packaging. Before starting, connect all cables and assemble the unit.
2. Connect the Y/C and/or FBAS cable into the correspondingly marked ports on the backside of the control unit and connect the monitor. Using the Y/C port increases picture quality.
3. Connect the cable with a suitable ground.
4. Connect the combined connection cable of the camera head and the lighting cable on the front of the control unit. Ensure the plug is in the correct position (red point on plug and bush) and the locking socket is engaged forwards. To disconnect the plug, the locking socket must be pushed backwards to unplug the locking device.
5. Plug the supplied power cable into the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE.
6. Turn on the camera, light source, and monitor. The power switch is located on the back of the unit.
How do I attach an optic to the scop-coupler on the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
1. Move back the locking device ring, while holding the camera head by hand.
2. Insert the optic with minimal pressure into the locking device of the adapter. Then release the locking device ring and install the optic with increased pressure until the locking device is engaged audibly.
3. To withdraw the optic, move back the locking device ring and simultaneously draw out the adapter, while holding the camera head by hand.
How do I turn on the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE control unit?
After the main plug has been put in and the power supply switched on (on the back), the unit starts up in stand-by mode, showing a circulating light. Pressing the power switch on the front puts the unit into operation. Pressing the power switch again returns the unit to stand-by mode.
How do I perform a white balance with the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
A white balance is necessary to guarantee optimal and natural colour reproduction, especially after changing an endoscope. To perform the half-automatic white balance:
1. Put the unit into operating condition.
2. Adapt the endoscope to the scop-coupler.
3. The endoscopic picture has to be brought into focus on a white object, keeping a distance of approx. 2 to 5 cm between the distal end of the endoscope and the white surface. To find the optimal “white point,” it may be helpful to slightly vary this distance.
4. Press the “white balance” key shortly until the LED shines. The monitor will show the colour reproduction conforming to the white color.
5. After approx. 4 seconds the LED goes out, and the white balance is finished. The colour reproduction remains until a new white balance is performed.
Important: To obtain an optimal colour reproduction, a white balance is necessary after each change of endoscope.
How do I use the Window (iris function), Aperture, and Brightness controls on the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
Window (iris function): To guarantee optimum brightness control, a window can be opened with the window-key. This is installed by the manufacturer to realize an optimum of picture quality.
Aperture: To adjust the contrast individually, you can vary the depth of focus with Aperture + and -. The contrast remains until a new focusing is made.
Brightness: To adjust the brightness individually, you can use the brightness + and – keys. This brightness remains until a new focusing is made.
How does the light function work on the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
When the unit is in operation, the lamp can be switched on by pressing the light key. Please wait approximately 1 minute to allow the lamp to obtain the necessary colour temperature. If the lamp is turned off, the signal will still shine for approximately 30 seconds. During this time, the lamp cannot be switched back on because it needs to cool off. After this period, the lamp can be switched on again.
How do I change the lamp in the JOIMAX C-CAMSOURCE?
Caution: Before replacing a damaged lamp, the power cord must be unplugged, and the lamp and light insertion must be cooled off.

3. Open the locking device by turning it to the left.
4. Pull out the insertion up to the stop from the front.
Do not touch the inside of the reflector lamp!
5. Put the new lamp into the holding device downwards. The marking of the lamp located on the reflector box must show upwards and fit in the recess of the holding device.
6. Connect the plugs with the lamp contacts.
7. Return the light insertion into the box and close the locking screw by turning it right.
