1. Remove the device from its packaging. Before starting, connect all cables and assemble the unit.
2. Connect the Y/C and/or FBAS cable into the correspondingly marked ports on the back of the control unit and connect it to the monitor. Using the Y/C port will increase picture quality.

How do I connect an optic to the scop-coupler on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
1. Move back the locking device ring, while holding the camera head by hand.
2. Insert the optic with minimal pressure into the locking device of the adapter. Then release the locking device ring and install the optic with increased pressure until the locking device engages audibly.
3. To withdraw the optic, move back the locking device ring and simultaneously draw out the adapter, while holding the camera head by hand.
How do I turn on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
After the main plug has been put in and the power supply switched on (on the back), the unit starts up in stand-by mode, showing a circulating light. Press the power switch on the front panel to put the unit into operation. By pressing the power switch again, the unit returns to the stand-by mode.
How do I perform a white balance on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
A white balance is necessary to guarantee optimal and natural color reproduction, especially after changing an endoscope. To obtain an optimal color reproduction, a white balance is necessary after each change of endoscope.
The half automatic white balance has to be made as follows:
• Put the unit into operating condition.
• Adapt the endoscope to the scop-coupler.
• The endoscopic picture has to be brought into focus on a white object, keeping a distance of approx. 2 to 5 cm between the distal end of an endoscope and the white surface.
• Press the key “white balance” shortly until the LED shines. The monitor will show the color reproduction conforming to the original white color.
• After approx. 4 seconds the LED goes out and the white balance is finished. The color reproduction thus installed remains until a new white balance is made.
To find the optimal “white point,” it may be helpful to slightly vary the distance between the distal end of the endoscope and the white object.
What is the purpose of the Window (iris function) on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
To guarantee an optimum of brightness control, a so-called window can be opened with the window-key. The manufacturer installs this window in a way that an optimum of picture quality is realized.
How do I adjust the aperture and brightness on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
Aperture
To adjust the contrast individually, you can vary the depth of focus with Aperture + and -. The contrast thus installed remains until a new focusing is made.
Brightness
In order to adjust the brightness individually, you can use the brightness + and – keys. This brightness remains until a new focusing is made.
How do I operate the light function on the JOIMAX D-CAMSOURCE?
If the unit is in operation, the lamp can be switched on by pressing the light key. Please wait approx. 1 minute to allow the lamp to obtain the necessary color temperature. If the lamp is put out, the signal still shines for approx. 30 seconds. During this time, the lamp cannot be switched on because it has to cool off. Thereafter, the lamp can be switched on again.
