How can the handle on the IHOME IBN4 be positioned?

The handle of the IHOME IBN4 can be placed in two positions: upright for carrying, or back for general use or tilt-back play.


How do I power or charge the IHOME IBN4?

The IHOME IBN4 can be operated using the included AC adaptor or its internal rechargeable battery. To charge the unit, connect the included AC adaptor to the DC jack on the back of the unit and connect the other end to a working wall outlet. The internal battery charges when connected to power. For the first use, you should charge the battery completely, which takes about 6 hours.


How can I check the battery charge status on the IHOME IBN4?

The battery indicator on the display shows the battery’s charge status. The icon will appear full when completely charged and will show a lower level as the battery depletes, indicating when it needs charging.


How does the display on the IHOME IBN4 work when in battery mode?

When the IHOME IBN4 is operating on battery power, the display will automatically shut off after 5 seconds to conserve power.


How do I pair and play audio from an NFC-enabled device with the IHOME IBN4?

1. Turn on your Bluetooth-enabled/NFC-enabled device and ensure its NFC capability is turned on (typically found in ‘Settings’).

2. Place your NFC-enabled device in play mode.

3. Turn the Power/Mode Dial on the IHOME IBN4 to the Bluetooth mode.

4. Touch the ‘N’ area of your playing NFC device against the ‘N’ antenna on top of the IHOME IBN4. The unit will enter automatic pairing mode, a tone will sound, and “PAIR” will flash on the display. If prompted, accept the Bluetooth pairing. “iHome iBN4” will appear in your device’s Bluetooth menu.

5. Once paired, the PAIR indicator will stop flashing, the Bluetooth icon will remain on the display, and your music will play through the unit.

6. Use the controls on your device to play, pause, and navigate tracks.

7. To disconnect, simply touch your device to the ‘N’ antenna on top of the unit again.


How do I manually pair my Bluetooth device with the IHOME IBN4?

1. Turn on your Bluetooth-enabled device and its Bluetooth capability.

2. Turn the Power/Mode Dial on the IHOME IBN4 to the right to turn the unit ON. Pairing is available in any mode (Radio or Bluetooth).

3. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Pairing Button on the unit for 2 seconds to begin pairing. “PAIR” will flash on the display.

4. “iHome iBN4” should appear in your device’s Bluetooth menu. If a “Not Connected” message appears, select “iHome iBN4” to connect. If your device asks for a password, enter 1234 or 0000.

5. If no device is paired within 2 minutes, a tone will sound, and the unit will revert to its previous mode. To try again, turn the Power/Mode Dial to OFF and repeat the steps.

6. Once paired, the PAIR indicator will stop flashing and the Bluetooth icon will remain on the display. Your device should now link to the iBN4 whenever it is within range (about 30 feet).


How do I pair a new device with the IHOME IBN4 if another device was previously paired?

When you power ON the IHOME IBN4, it will automatically try to link with the last paired Bluetooth device if that device is within range (about 30 feet). To pair with a different device, you must turn off the Bluetooth capability of the already paired device or move it out of range.


How do I play and control audio via Bluetooth on the IHOME IBN4?

1. Turn the Power/Mode Dial to the Bluetooth position. The Bluetooth Indicator on the display will flash as it searches and then turn solid once a paired device is detected.

2. Press the Play/Pause and Pairing Button on the unit to play audio from your linked device. Press it again to pause, and a third time to resume play.

3. Press the Reverse or Forward Buttons on the unit to go to the previous or next track. (Note: this function is disabled on some devices).

4. Turn the Volume Dial to control the system volume. The volume ranges from 0 to 20.

5. When finished, turn the Power/Mode Dial to the OFF position.


How do I play audio on the IHOME IBN4 using the line-in jack?

1. Connect one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the LINE-IN jack on the back of the IHOME IBN4 and the other end into the headphone or output jack of your audio device.

2. The unit defaults to Line-in mode when the cable is connected and will not play FM radio or Bluetooth audio.

3. Turn the Power/Mode Dial to the right (to any mode) to turn it on.

4. Power on your audio device and use its controls to play, pause, and navigate tracks.

5. Turn the Volume Dial on the IHOME IBN4 to control the system volume.

6. When done, turn the Power/Mode Dial to the OFF position and unplug the audio cable.


How do I use the line-out feature of the IHOME IBN4?

1. Connect a 3.5mm audio cable from the LINE-OUT jack on the back of the IHOME IBN4 to the line-in jack of an external speaker. The line output signal is mono.

2. Turn the Power/Mode Dial to the right (to any mode) to turn the unit on. Audio will play from both the IHOME IBN4’s speaker and the connected external speaker.

3. Turn the Volume Dial on the IHOME IBN4 to control its speaker volume. The Volume Dial does NOT affect the volume of the line-out jack.

4. When done, turn the Power/Mode Dial to the OFF position. Note that the line-out jack is NOT a headphone jack.


How do I listen to the FM Radio on the IHOME IBN4?

1. Turn the Power/Mode Dial on the unit to the center Radio mode.

2. Press the Reverse or Forward Buttons to tune to the desired station. For scanning, press and hold either button to find the next clear station.

3. The unit has an external telescoping FM radio antenna; extend it gently and adjust its position for the best reception.

4. Turn the Volume Dial to control the system volume.

5. When done listening, turn the Power/Mode Dial to the OFF position.


How do I change the FM radio frequency settings on my IHOME IBN4 for use in other countries?

The unit is set to USA frequency steps by default. To change it:

1. Turn the Power/Mode Dial to the Radio mode (center).

2. Press and hold BOTH the Reverse and Forward Buttons TOGETHER until “USA” appears in the display.

3. Press and release the Reverse or Forward Buttons to cycle to your location: Europe, Japan, Australia, China, or USA.

If the unit “locks up” or becomes unresponsive, you can reset it. There are two methods:

Method 1 (Factory Reset): Press and hold the Forward Button and the Play/Pause Button TOGETHER for 8 SECONDS. A long beep will sound, indicating the unit has been reset. Note that you will need to re-pair your Bluetooth devices.

Method 2 (Soft Reset): There is a Reset port on the back of the unit. Insert the end of a paper clip or similar object into the port and hold briefly. A tone will indicate the unit has reset. With this method, Bluetooth links will remain intact.

• Make sure the unit is completely charged.
