The installation of the IGNIS QUADRA must be carried out by a qualified professional in compliance with all current national and European standards, as well as local and municipal regulations.

The IGNIS QUADRA must be connected to a flue that ensures proper smoke evacuation. The connection can be made to either a masonry flue or an insulated steel flue. The flue must have a minimum height of 4 meters and should be swept before connection. The diameter of the connection pipe must be equal to or greater than the diameter of the appliance’s flue outlet.

To ensure safe operation, the IGNIS QUADRA must be installed with the following minimum distances from any combustible materials:

– From the back of the appliance: 150 mm

– From the sides of the appliance: 300 mm

– In front of the appliance: 800 mm

Yes, if the IGNIS QUADRA is installed on a combustible floor (e.g., wood, carpet, PVC), a non-combustible floor protection plate must be placed underneath the appliance. This plate should extend at least 400 mm in front of the loading door opening and 200 mm on the sides.

For the first use of your IGNIS QUADRA, it is important to start with a moderate fire. This allows the high-temperature paint to cure properly. During this process, some smoke and odors may be released. Ensure the room is well-ventilated to dissipate these emissions. It is normal for the paint to soften during this initial curing phase; avoid touching it.

The following fuels must NOT be used:

– Treated wood (e.g., railway sleepers, plywood, chipboard)

– Pallets or scrap wood

– Coal or coke

– Any type of plastic or waste

Follow these steps to light a fire in your IGNIS QUADRA:

1. Ensure the ash pan is empty.

2. Fully open the air controls by moving the control lever all the way to the right.

3. Place one or two firelighters in the center of the grate.

4. Arrange small pieces of dry wood (kindling) around the firelighters in a pyramid shape.

5. Light the firelighters.

6. Close the door.

7. Once the kindling is well lit, carefully open the door and add two or three small logs.

8. Close the door again. When these logs are burning well, you can add larger logs.

9. Once the fire is established and the appliance is hot, adjust the air control lever to the left to achieve the desired combustion rate.

When the fire has died down and there is only a bed of embers, you can reload the IGNIS QUADRA. First, move the air control lever to the far right to fully open the air inlets. Wait a few moments, then open the door slowly to avoid smoke escaping into the room. Place new logs on the bed of embers, being careful not to overfill the appliance. Close the door. After a few minutes, when the new logs have caught fire, you can adjust the air control lever to your desired setting.

The IGNIS QUADRA is equipped with a single control lever located under the door that manages the primary, secondary, and tertiary air supplies for combustion. The lever has three main positions:

– Position to the right (maximum air): This position is for lighting the fire and quickly igniting new logs. It provides the maximum amount of air for combustion.

– Central position (normal operation): This is the recommended setting for normal operation once the fire is established and the appliance has reached its operating temperature.

– Position to the left (minimum air/slow combustion): This position reduces the air supply for slow combustion mode, which extends the burning time of the logs.

To empty the ash pan on your IGNIS QUADRA, follow these steps. Always ensure the appliance is completely cold before starting.

1. Open the door.

2. Wearing a protective glove, remove the ash pan.

3. Empty the ashes into a non-combustible container, such as a metal bucket with a lid.

4. Ensure the ashes are completely cold before disposing of them with household waste.

It is recommended to leave a thin layer of ash on the grate, as it helps protect the grate and facilitates the next lighting.

Before cleaning, ensure the IGNIS QUADRA is completely cold. To clean the combustion chamber:

1. Remove the baffle plates, the grate, and any other removable parts from inside the combustion chamber.

2. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove all ash and soot from the chamber.

3. Reinstall all parts correctly before using the appliance again.

Clean the glass only when the IGNIS QUADRA is completely cold. Use a specific insert cleaning product applied with a soft cloth or paper towel. Do not spray the product directly onto the seals. Never use abrasive or corrosive products, as they can damage the glass. Soot on the glass is often a sign of using damp wood or an incorrect draught setting.

To clean the painted steel exterior of your IGNIS QUADRA, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or aggressive detergents, as they can damage the paint finish.

The seals on the door and glass of the IGNIS QUADRA should be checked once a year to ensure they provide a proper seal. If the seals are damaged or worn, they must be replaced to maintain the appliance’s efficiency and safety.

The chimney and the connecting flue pipe for your IGNIS QUADRA must be swept by a qualified professional at least twice a year, with one of the sweepings occurring during the heating season. An invoice should be kept as proof of the work carried out.
