Follow these steps to install your HYGGER HG137-10W filter:

1. Connect the inlet tube, extension tube(s), and filter basket in turn.

2. Insert the 4-piece cartridge into the filter.

3. Connect the assembled inlet tube to the pump inside the filter.

4. Install the cover on the top of the filter.

5. Important: Before plugging in the filter, fill the pump chamber with approximately 600ml (about 2 cups) of water.

2. Cleaning the filter sponge weekly is suggested.

3. The temperature range for the filter is 33.8-95°F.

4. Always unplug the filter before maintenance.

• Before first use, check that the rated voltage and frequency on the filter pump match your operating voltage.

• The power socket should be located above the aquarium’s waterline to prevent water from leaking along the power cord to the socket.

• To ensure safety, the power supply must be unplugged and disconnected when installing, removing, or cleaning the filter.

• The mains plug must not get wet. Never touch the plug with wet hands.

• Personal disassembly of the pump should be avoided.

• Please soak the filter cartridge in water before using it.

• Before use, add water to the filter so that the pump can work properly. It is normal to hear a loud pumping sound when the filter starts; wait about a minute and the noise will disappear.

• To avoid possible electric shock, do not immerse the pump in water. If the pump falls into the water or becomes wet, do not touch it until you have unplugged it.

• Read and follow the user manual strictly.

• If the pump falls into the water, do not touch it. First unplug it, then pull it out. If electrical parts of the pump get wet, unplug the pump immediately.

• Carefully check the pump after installation. It should not be connected if there is water on parts that are not intended to be wet.

• Do not operate the pump if it has a damaged cord or plug, is faulty, has been dropped or damaged in any way. The power cord is not replaceable. If the cord is damaged, the pump should be discarded.

• Close supervision is required when the pump is used near children.

• To avoid injury, do not contact moving or hot parts.

• Always unplug the pump when it is not in use, before maintenance, or before putting your hands in the water. Never pull the cord to unplug; grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.

• Do not use the pump for any purpose other than its intended use.

To avoid the possibility of the pump plug getting wet, position the aquarium and stand to one side of a wall-mounted socket to prevent water from dripping onto it. A “drip loop” should be arranged by the user for each cord connecting the pump to the socket. The “drip loop” is the part of the cord below the level of the outlet or plug that prevents water from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the outlet. If the plug or socket does get wet, DO NOT unplug the cord. Disconnect power to the outlet at the circuit breaker first, then unplug the power cord and check for water in the outlet. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

If an extension cord is required, use a cord with the correct rating, such as amperes or watts. A cord rated for less amps or watts than the pump rating may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be tripped over or pulled.

• Do not install or store the pump where it will be exposed to extreme weather or temperatures below freezing. This pump is suitable for use in temperatures between 32-100°F.

• Make sure the pump is securely installed before operating it.

Do not dispose of this product as unsorted municipal waste. This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste. It must be disposed of at an authorized place for recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. By collecting and recycling waste, you help save natural resources and ensure the product is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
