• Do not exceed the capacity specified for the device. Ensure that the specified wiring and wire cross-sections are used when connecting to device terminals.

• Use only mains power capable buttons and wires for connecting to button inputs.

• Follow all technical specifications, especially the maximum permitted switching capacity of the relay and type of consumer to be connected. All load specifications refer to resistive loads.

• Exceeding the device’s capacity could lead to its destruction, a fire, or an electrical accident.

• Remove the fuse before connecting the actuator.

• The device has not been designed to support safety disconnection.

Installation should only be performed by persons with the relevant electro-technical knowledge and experience. Incorrect installation can put your own life at risk and the lives of other users of the electrical system. It can also lead to serious damage to property, for which you may be personally liable. It is recommended to contact an electrical installer.

The following specialist knowledge is particularly important during the installation of the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM:

• The ‘5 safety rules’ to be used: Disconnect from mains; Safeguard from switching on again; Check that system is de-energised; Earth and short circuit; Cover or cordon off neighbouring live parts.

You can operate the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM actuator using the button connected directly to the device to check for correct electrical installation. This does not require the device to be taught. Existing buttons can be used as usual. Only a brief button press is used for operation. A longer button press (holding for more than 4 seconds) will switch the actuator to teach mode.

To teach the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM, both devices to be connected must be put into teach mode. The flush-mount actuator does not have a special teach button. You must connect a mains power capable button to the button input (S1).

To start teaching mode, press and hold the connected channel button for about 4 seconds. Teach mode is indicated by the device LED flashing continuously.

If no teaching occurs, teach mode is automatically ended after 20 seconds. If other devices are in teach mode, they will be taught.

To reset the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM actuator to its factory status, follow these steps:

1. Switch the device to teach mode by holding the connected channel button pressed for at least 4 seconds. The device LED will start flashing slowly.

2. While the device is in teach mode, hold the channel button pressed down again for at least 4 seconds.

3. The actuator reset is indicated by the device LED flashing quickly.

Additionally, as soon as a relay of the device is tripped, the device LED is continuously illuminated.

After switching the operating voltage on (mains voltage returned), the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM actuator checks its components. If an error is detected during this test, it is indicated by a flashing LED. This is repeated continually and the device starts to work with the respective functionality.

If the test runs without any errors, the actuator sends a radio telegram with the respective status information. The actuator waits a random delay time before sending so that all actuators are not sending at the same time when the power returns. During this time, the device LED flashes (like in teach mode). If the delay time is short, the flashing may not be noticeable.

Do not dispose of the HOMEMATIC HM-LC-SW1-FM as part of household garbage. Electronic devices are to be disposed of in accordance with the guidelines concerning electrical and electronic devices via the local collecting point for old electronic devices.
