What does the Data indicator show?

This indicator blinks while data is being sent from the machine or data is being received from the client computer. It also lights up when documents are saved in the machine.


What does the Status display lamp indicate?

The lamp lights up in green when an operation is received. When an error occurs, the lamp blinks in orange.


How does the Login function work?

Users are authenticated by entering their User ID and logging in. If logged in with administrator rights, “[Administrator]” is shown. Tapping the authentication information display area logs the user out, returning to an unauthenticated state.


What is the function of the Opening menu button?

Tap this button to open the menu for changing and checking machine settings. Tap on [<] to close the menu.


What can be accessed from the Home Screen?

Apps/Pins/Address Screens can be displayed:

• [Apps]: Tap application icons to use their functions (e.g., Copy, Scan).

• [Pins]: Execute a job again using saved Job Direction History (pins). Create pins to directly activate jobs without opening an application.

• [Address]: Register addresses and other information. Activate an application directly from a registered address, setting it as the destination.


How do I switch the power on?

1. Press the Power/Power Saving button.

The operation panel turns on. The printer warms up and becomes ready within about 5 minutes (warm-up time may vary). After being inactive for a while, the printer automatically enters Power Saver mode.


How do I switch the power off using the control panel?

1. Press the Power/Power Saving button. (Note: Long pressing this button also switches off power).

2. Tap on [Power Off Device] on the touch screen.

Important:

Do not switch the power off when:

– During data reception (Data indicator is lit)

– Within 5 seconds after paper ejection

– During copying or scanning

Switching off power during these states may delete processed data.

Note:

■ The Power/Power Saver button may blink after the screen goes dark. Wait until the light goes off before turning off the main power.

■ When powering on after switching off, wait 10 seconds or more after the touch screen has gone dark.

■ Power can also be switched off via Internet Services under [Home] tab > [Support] > [Power Off Device].


What is the purpose of creating a Pin?

Creating a pin of a Job Direction History allows you to easily execute the same job again with the same settings.

Note:

■ Job histories and created pins are managed per user.

■ Pinned job histories are not overwritten.

■ Pins created in Administrator mode are shared by all users.

■ Shared pins can be changed/deleted in Administrator mode.


How do I create a Pin from Job Direction History?

1. Log in to the machine.

2. On the Home screen, tap on [Pins].

3. Find the history entry you want to pin. Tap on the menu icon (three dots) on the right side of that entry.

4. Tap on [Create Pin].


How do I execute a job using a Pinned Job Direction History?

1. Go to the [Pins] screen on the Home screen.

2. Find the pinned job you want to execute.

3. Tap on the menu icon (three dots) on the right side of the pinned job.

4. Tap on [Start Now].


What should I know about the Main Power Switch?

Turning off the main power reduces power consumption further than the Power/Power Saving button (but not to zero).

Important:

■ If the printer is hot, switching off the main power immediately after using the Power/Power Saving button prevents cooling and might cause problems (damage, toner issues). Ensure the Power/Power Saving button light is off before switching off the main power.

■ Cooling down can take up to 60 minutes.

Note:

■ The machine needs more time to warm up if switched on after the main power was off.

■ Switching off the main power incorrectly may damage the hard disk/memory or cause malfunction. Follow guidelines: don’t switch off while the screen is active or button blinks; switch off before unplugging; don’t switch off immediately after switching on.


How do I turn off the Main Power Switch?

1. Ensure the Power/Power Saving indicator light on the control panel is off.

2. Open the Machine Front Cover.

3. Push the lower side of the Main Power Switch to the (OFF) position.

The Power/Power Saving indicator goes out.


What is the Circuit Breaker Switch and how does it work?

The Circuit Breaker Switch is normally in the upper (ON) position. It should be turned off (pressed to the lower position) if the machine will be moved or unused for an extended period.

If a fault current is detected, the circuit breaker automatically turns off (trips) to stop electrical flow. Do not touch the breakers under normal conditions. For information on fault current, refer to the “Safety Notes”. Refer to the Reference Guide Optional Units for information on circuit breakers in optional units.

How do I load paper into Paper Trays 1, 2, or 3?

1. Pull out the Paper Tray until it stops.

2. If paper is already loaded, take it out.

3. Pinch the guide clip(s) and adjust them to the correct paper size.

4. Fan a stack of paper well. Load the paper with the print surface face down, aligning the edges according to the direction of the arrow marked in the tray.

Important: Do not load paper above the maximum fill line (marked MAX).

Note: Ensure the guide clip(s) are adjusted correctly to the paper size to prevent misfeeds or jams.

5. Gently push the Paper Tray fully in.

Important:

■ Do not place paper or other objects in the reserved space of the tray.

■ Do not remove the Paper Tray used for a job while the printer is processing it.

Note:

■ Fanning the paper separates sheets and helps prevent jamming.


How do I configure the paper settings on the device screen after changing paper type in a tray?

1. Tap the menu icon, then tap [Device] > [Paper Tray Settings].

2. Tap on the number for the Paper Tray where you loaded the paper.

3. Configure the paper items (type, size, etc.) as required.

5. Align the upper left corner of the document for correct size detection.

6. Load the document face up in the center of the Document Feeder. If the document is 2-sided, place the front side up.

Important: Do not set documents above the maximum fill line.

7. When the confirmation indicator lights up, move the document guide to align with both edges of the document.

8. Open the Document Stopper.

Note: The “Document Feeder Attention Light” turns on after a scan job completes and turns off after approx. 3 seconds to help prevent leaving documents behind.

How does the E-Waste Recycling Program work?

We have partnered with a government-approved e-waste recycler to facilitate collection from channel partners and customers. Register your request for e-waste collection.
