A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns in video games. To reduce the risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures, you should take the following precautions:

• Sit farther from the TV screen.

• Use a smaller TV screen.

• Play in a well-lit room.

• Do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.

If you experience symptoms like light-headedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, or disorientation, immediately stop playing and consult a doctor. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

When playing video games, you may experience occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. However, if you experience symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or stiffness, DO NOT IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS. You should PROMPTLY SEE A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, even if symptoms occur when you are not playing a video game. These symptoms can be associated with musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

To ensure safe operation of your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• The device must not be exposed to rain or humidity to avoid risk of fire and electric shock.

• The operating temperature should be between 15°C and 35°C (room temperature).

• Long playing sessions may cause health risks. Take a 5-minute break every 20 minutes, and do not play for more than 2 hours per day.

• It is strongly advised not to drive a vehicle immediately after using a video game.

• In case of interference with other wireless 2.4 GHz devices, the interfering devices must be removed or switched off.

• The product is not intended for children under the age of 6 years as it contains small pieces that pose a swallowing danger.

• Do not open the casing of the device. Opening it will void the warranty as it contains components that cannot be repaired by the user.

For the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS and CSL Elite Pedals LC, please follow these electrical safety rules:

• Only use the cords that came with your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS and/or the CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit or those received from an authorized repair center.

• Do not use non-standard power sources like generators or inverters, even if the voltage and frequency seem acceptable. Only use power provided by a PC USB port or the ‘Pedals’ port on a wheel base.

To avoid damaging the CSL Elite Pedals LC:

• Do not use the pedals with cords different from those packaged with the product or received from an authorized repair center.

• During storms or when unused for long periods, unplug the power cord of your wheel base or disconnect the supply cord from the PC USB port to protect your pedals.

• If the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS or LC version become damaged in any way, stop using them immediately and contact Fanatec Customer Support.

There are two primary ways to connect your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS:

Option 1: Connect to PC USB port.

• For standard FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS, you need the optional ClubSport USB Adapter.

• For the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC, the required USB connection cable is included in the Loadcell Kit package.

This option is only applicable for use with a PC, not consoles.

Option 2: Connect to a Fanatec Wheel Base.

• Connect your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS (standard or LC) to the ‘Pedals’ port of your Fanatec Wheel Base using the included RJ12 connection cable.

This option is applicable for use with PC or consoles.

IMPORTANT: Use only the RJ12 cable packaged with your CSL Elite Pedals and the USB cable packaged with your CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit to avoid damage to the electronics.

1. Put together the pedal units (brake and gas) with the heel rest. Be careful not to clamp the cables of the pedal units.

2. Align the poles on the bottom of each pedal unit with the holes in the heel rest. You can try different positions to find your preferred adjustment.

3. Insert the M8 screws with a washer from the top side, through the heel rest and the pedal unit.

4. From the bottom side, secure each screw with another washer and a nut.

5. Tighten the assembly using the included Allen Key and wrench.

6. Once tightened, insert the slot cover into the heel rest.

7. Connect the RJ12 plugs from the pedal unit cables to the corresponding ports on the electronics module.

1. Mount the ‘loadcell brake’ pedal unit to the heel rest of your original FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS. You can also mount the original brake (now the clutch) and throttle pedals. Avoid clamping the pedal unit cables.

2. Align the poles on the pedal units with the holes in the heel rest to find your preferred positions.

3. Insert the M8 screws with washers from the top, through the heel rest and pedal units. Secure from the bottom with washers and nuts.

4. Tighten the assembly using the Allen Key and wrench from the original pedals package.

5. Insert the slot cover into the heel rest.

6. Remove the original CSL Elite Pedals electronics module by loosening the four small screws on its sides with a 2 mm Allen Key.

7. Insert the CSL Elite Pedals LC electronics module from the Loadcell Kit package and mount it with the same four small screws.

8. Connect the RJ12 plugs of all pedal units to their corresponding ports on the new LC electronics module.

9. Replace the brake limiter pad at the backside of the clutch pedal unit (the former CSL Elite Pedals brake) with the clutch limiter pad from the Loadcell Kit package content.

You can adjust the brake stiffness by arranging the different elastomer springs on the back side brake rod. The brake rod holds five pieces of elastomer springs plus the soft yellow spring.

IMPORTANT: The elastomer springs must not be compressed more than 40% of their length. If mixing springs with different hardness, the maximum load is defined by the spring with the lowest shore value.

Please refer to the following table for correct setup:

The stabilizer bars are recommended to reinforce the pedal set, especially if not every pedal unit has full floor contact in a cockpit or rig. Follow these steps:

1. Pinch the clips of the covers at the pedal unit base frames to remove them from each pedal unit.

2. Insert the stabilizer bars (S2) through the holes of the now-removed covers.

3. Attach the spacers (E1) between the pedal unit base frames, sliding them over the stabilizer bars.

4. Add washers (W1) and nuts (N1) onto both ends of each stabilizer bar (S2) and tighten them.

The FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS offer several hard-mount opportunities for a secure installation:

• Heel rest: There is one hole at each of the four corners for the insertion of an M8 screw.

• Each single pedal unit: There are two holes at each pedal unit base frame.

NOTE: Always hard-mount the pedals at the heel rest and with at least one screw at each pedal unit. Hard-mount screws are not included in the package contents.

Attaching/Detaching Rubber Covers:

The rubber covers can be removed to use a pure metal pedal surface with less grip. They are designed to be attached and detached by hand, without tools. Simply pull them off the pedal plates to remove, and stretch them over the plates to re-attach. IMPORTANT: Do not use any tools to avoid damaging the product parts.

Attaching Anti-skid Pads (for Loadcell Kit):

The anti-skid pads provide better grip for drivers using shoes.

1. First, remove the pedal plate rubber cover as described above.

2. Make sure the metal pedal plate is clean and dry to allow for proper adhesion.

3. Remove the protective film from the backside of the anti-skid pad.

4. Carefully attach the anti-skid pad onto the pedal plate.

The rubber covers can be re-attached over the anti-skid pads at any time.

The mainboard on the bottom of the standard FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS has the following ports:

• Wheel Base: An RJ12 port for connecting the pedals to a Fanatec Wheel Base ‘Pedals’ port or to a ClubSport USB Adapter (for PC only). IMPORTANT: Use only the RJ12 cable that came with your pedals.

• Gas: For connection to the gas/throttle pedal unit.

• Brake: For connection to the brake pedal unit.

IMPORTANT: Do not connect any other devices to the Gas and Brake ports other than the CSL Elite Pedals single pedal units.

The mainboard for the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC, which comes with the Loadcell Kit, has the following ports:

• Wheel Base: An RJ12 port for connecting to a Fanatec Wheel Base ‘Pedals’ port for PC or console use. IMPORTANT: Do not connect to a ClubSport USB Adapter.

• USB: For a direct connection to a PC’s USB port. This option is not for console use.

• Gas: For connection to the gas/throttle pedal unit.

• Brake: For connection to the loadcell brake pedal unit from the Loadcell Kit.

• Clutch: For connection to the clutch pedal unit (the original brake pedal from the basic CSL Elite Pedals).

• Handbrake: For connection of the ClubSport Handbrake.

IMPORTANT: Only use the specific cables packaged with your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS products to avoid damage.

When the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC are powered on for the first time or after a firmware update without a manual calibration having been done, they operate in auto calibration mode. To calibrate each pedal:

1. Press each pedal lever from its initial mechanical position all the way down to 100% of its travel (maximum mechanical position).

2. Release the pedal back to its initial position.

The pedal is now automatically calibrated. The procedure is the same for the handbrake if one is connected.

Manual calibration allows for a more precise setup or to reduce the signal range within the mechanical travel. There are different methods depending on your connection:

Manual calibration by PC driver:

1. Open the PC driver application.

2. In the ‘Function Test’ tab, check the box ‘Enable manual mode (Auto-Calibration deactivated!)’.

3. To set the minimum position: Press the pedal to the desired mechanical minimum position, then click the ‘set min’ button below the corresponding indicator bar. (Note: Minimum position must be lower than maximum position).

4. To set the maximum position: Press the pedal to the desired mechanical maximum position, then click the ‘set max’ button above the corresponding indicator bar. (Note: Maximum position must be higher than minimum position).

Manual calibration of throttle and clutch by wheel base:

1. Enter the Tuning Menu on your attached steering wheel.

2. To set the minimum position: Press the clutch and throttle pedals to your wanted physical minimum position. Then press the button combination: Left Shifter Paddle + Right Shifter Paddle + Down on D-Pad. The wheel display will show ‘PNP’.

3. To set the maximum position: Press the clutch and throttle pedals to your wanted physical maximum position. Then press the button combination: Left Shifter Paddle + Right Shifter Paddle + Up on D-Pad. The wheel display will show ‘PUP’.

You can adjust the brake force sensitivity (how much pressure is needed to reach 100% brake signal) in two ways:

1. Adjustment by PC Driver (when connected via USB):

In the driver’s ‘Function Test’ window, next to the brake indicator bar, there is a setting bar scaled from ‘OFF’ to ‘100’.

• Moving the arrow towards ‘100’ means you need to press the brake with more force to achieve 100% signal.

• Moving the arrow towards ‘OFF’ means you need to press the brake with less force to achieve 100% signal.

2. Adjustment by Wheel Base (when connected to a wheel base):

Enter the Tuning Menu on your steering wheel and navigate to the parameter ‘BRF’ (Brake Force).

• The value ranges from OFF to 100 (default is 050).

• A value of 100 means the user needs to press the brake with minimum force to achieve 100% brake signal.

• A value of OFF means the user needs to press the brake with maximum force to achieve 100% brake signal.

To switch back to auto calibration mode from manual mode, connect the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC to your PC (either directly via USB or through a wheel base connected to the PC). Open the PC driver software and activate the checkbox for ‘Enable manual calibration mode’ again. This will toggle the setting. For throttle and clutch calibration via wheel base hotkeys, you can also use the hotkey: Left Shifter Paddle + Right Shifter Paddle + Left on D-Pad.

Clean your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS or CSL Elite Pedals LC only with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Using cleaning solutions may cause damage to the product.

If you can feel or hear parts grinding, please add some lithium grease to the marked pivot points on the pedal mechanisms. This includes the main pivot point at the base of each pedal arm and the pivot points for the spring or damper mechanisms.

After performing a firmware update on the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC, the manually calibrated pedal positions will be lost. You will need to manually calibrate them again. Please refer to the ‘Pedals manual calibration’ and ‘Firmware update procedure’ sections of the user manual for more details.

If your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS or CSL Elite Pedals LC are not being recognized, please check the following:

• Ensure you have updated your ClubSport USB Adapter firmware (for standard pedals) or CSL Elite Pedals LC firmware to the latest version.

• Ensure your Fanatec wheel base has been updated to the latest firmware version.

• Ensure you have updated your PC driver to the latest version.

• Make sure the used RJ12 or USB cable is plugged into the correct ports on both the pedals’ bottom side and the ClubSport USB Adapter, PC, or wheel base.

If you are experiencing strange pedal behavior in-game, connect the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS to your PC either directly or through the wheel base. Start the PC driver and check the indicator bars for each pedal while pressing them. For the CSL Elite Pedals LC, you may need to perform a manual calibration of the minimum and/or maximum positions, or adjust the ‘Enable manual calibration mode’ setting to adjust the pedal signal behavior to your liking.

When powering on the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC in ‘Auto calibration mode’, every pedal lever must be pushed first to its maximum position and then returned to its minimum position. After this initial calibration press, the signal from the corresponding pedal should be correct. Please see the ‘Pedal auto calibration mode’ chapter of the user manual for more details.

This issue is related to the BIOS of some mainboard manufacturers. In this case, it is required to boot the PC first and then plug the FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS LC into the USB port after Windows has started.

You can find the serial number on a sticker located on the bottom side of the electronics mainboard of your FANTEC CSL ELITE PEDALS. The serial number can also be found on a sticker on one of the packaging boxes.

• The serial number for the standard CSL Elite Pedals starts with the letters ‘ST’ and has 8 additional numbers (e.g., ST64104013).

• The serial number for the CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit starts with the letters ‘FS’ and has 8 additional numbers (e.g., FS643902466).
