  • Work areas should be clean and well lit.
  • Do not operate the equipment if bystanders, animals etc are within operating range of the equipment or the general work area.
  • If devices are provided for connecting dust extraction / collection facilities, ensure these are connected and used properly. Dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

What are the general personal safety precautions I should take?

  • Wear appropriate protective equipment when operating, servicing, or when in the operating area of the equipment to help protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning, burns, cutting and crush injuries.
  • Protective equipment such as safety goggles, respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard hat, hearing protection etc should be used for appropriate equipment / conditions.
  • Other people nearby should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, which can be caught in moving parts. Keep hair and clothing away from the equipment.
  • Stay alert and use common sense when operating the equipment. Do not over-reach. Always maintain secure footing and balance.
  • Do not use the equipment if tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
  • This equipment is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities.

What are the general fuel safety measures I should consider?

  • Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable – keep clear of naked flames or other ignition sources.
  • Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on your clothing, change clothing.
  • Do NOT smoke near fuel or when refueling.
  • Always shut off the engine before refueling.
  • Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
  • Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any pressure build-up in the tank to release slowly.
  • Always refuel in well ventilated areas.
  • Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel leakage is found, do not start or run the engine until all leaks are fixed.

What are the general carbon-monoxide safety measures I should consider?

  • Using a combustion engine indoors CAN KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you cannot smell or see.
  • Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only, and far away from windows, doors and vents.

What are the general equipment use and care guidelines?

  • The equipment is designed for domestic use only.
  • Handle the equipment safely and carefully.
  • Before use, inspect the equipment for misalignment or binding of moving parts, loose components, damage or any other condition that may affect its operation. If damaged, have the equipment repaired by an authorised service centre or technician before use.
  • Prevent unintentional starting of the equipment – ensure equipment and power switches are in the OFF position before connecting or moving equipment. What are the general electrical safety guidelines?

  • Inspect electrical equipment, extension cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for damage or wear before each use. Repair or replace damaged equipment immediately.
  • Ensure all power sources conform to equipment voltage requirements and are disconnected before connecting or disconnecting equipment.
  • When wiring electrically powered equipment, follow all electrical and safety codes.

What is the procedure for assembling and using the EUROXCHEF Contact Grill for the first time?

  1. Take the appliance out of its packaging and remove all packaging material. Check the appliance for any missing parts.
  2. Remove the grill plate by pressing the lock-release button and take it out.
  3. Before using it for the first time, clean the grill plate with warm water and a mild cleaning agent. Then thoroughly dry the components.
  4. Insert the grill plate, making sure that the grill plate is inserted into the correct position.
  5. Select a desired cooking surface when inserting the plate.
  6. Ensure that the drip tray is inserted correctly at the back of the appliance.
  7. Connect the plug to a properly-installed socket, ensuring that the voltage matches your domestic power supply.

What are the functions of the control panel?

  1. Both grill plates will heat-up

How do I operate the contact grill?

  1. Plug-in the unit. The unit will then beep, and all indication lights will turn ON and OFF. “OFF” will show on the display.
  2. Select your desired grilling function (Both Grill / Upper Grill / Lower Grill). The default time and temperature will show on the display on first use. The unit will save in its memory the last temperature and time settings. When turning ON the unit, the last temperature and time settings will show on the display.
  3. You can adjust the cooking time and temperature by pressing the ˄ or ˅ buttons. The unit will beep once when the button is pressed.
  4. Press the START button to start pre-heating the grill. “PRE”, setting time and temperature will show on the display. The indicator light will change to blue. When preheating is finished, the temperature setting will show, and the time will flash on the display. The unit will beep five times and the indicator light will change to green.
  5. Put food items on the grill plate and press the START button. The unit will start counting down, and the indicator light will change to yellow (if the START button isn’t pressed within 30 minutes, the unit will go into Standby Mode).
  6. When the countdown is over, the unit will beep five times and the unit will go into Standby Mode. “DONE” will show on the display, and the indicator light will change to red.
  7. Press the CANCEL button and “OFF” will show on the display.

What are some important considerations while using the grill?

  • While grilling, you can press the CANCEL button to exit the current grilling process and select another function (Both Grill / Upper Grill / Lower Grill)
  • While grilling, you can press the ˄ and ˅ buttons to adjust the time and temperature settings. The unit will start grilling according to the new time and temperature settings within three seconds.
  • When the unit is in Standby Mode, you can press the ˄ and ˅ buttons of the temperature setting together for three seconds to change between °C and °F.
  • The unit will store in its memory the last temperature and time settings. When the unit turns ON at the next usage, the last time and temperature settings will show on the display.

What are some helpful tips for grilling?

  • You can add a little cooking oil or cooking Ingredients to the grill plates.
  • Close the grill plates during pre-heating.
  • Open the lid by lifting the handle only. Remove food items with a heat-resistant plastic spatula. Never use tongs or a knife as these can cause damage to the non-stick coating of cooking plates.

How do I maintain the EUROCHEF Contact Grill?

Even if the appliance is not being used, disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning it as well as any individual parts.

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allows it to cool down completely.
  2. Press the lock-release buttons to removes the plates from the grill.
  3. After removing the grill plates, you can clean them in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher.
  4. Remove the drip tray at the back of the appliance while wearing gloves, empty the drip tray into a heat-resistant pan, rinse it in warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly later.

NOTE: Before removing the drip tray, make sure that the temperature of the oil or oil residues is less than 40°C, otherwise it can cause burn injuries if it’s too hot.
