Please comply with these instructions to ensure the safe and correct use of your ELECTROLUX EHD90200P induction hob.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

• This appliance should be used only for normal domestic cooking and frying of food.

• The appliance must not be used as a work surface or as a storage surface.

• Additions or modifications to the appliance are not permitted.

• Do not place or store flammable liquids, highly inflammable materials or fusible objects (e.g. plastic film, plastic, aluminium) on or near the appliance.

• The cooking zones will become hot when you cook. Therefore, always keep small children away from the appliance.

• The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• To avoid small children and pets unintentionally switching the appliance on, we recommend activation of the child safety device.

• The appliance may only be installed and connected by trained, registered service engineers.

• Built-in appliances may only be used after they have been built in to suitable built-in units and work surfaces that meet standards.

• In the event of faults with the appliance or damage to the glass ceramic (cracks, scratches or splits), the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the electrical supply, to prevent the possibility of an electric shock.

• Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by trained registered service engineers.

• The glass ceramic can be damaged by objects falling onto it.

• The edge of the glass ceramic can be damaged by being knocked by the cookware.

• Cookware made of cast iron, cast aluminium or with damaged bottoms can scratch the glass ceramic if pushed across the surface.

• Objects that melt and things that boil over can burn onto the glass ceramic and should be removed straightaway.

• Do not use the cooking zones with empty cookware or without cookware.

• To avoid damaging cookware and glass ceramics, do not allow saucepans or frying pans to boil dry.

• The ventilation gap of 5mm between the worktop and front of the unit underneath it must not be covered.

The ELECTROLUX EHD90200P appliance is operated using Touch Control sensor fields. Functions are controlled by touching sensor fields and confirmed by displays and acoustic signals. Touch the sensor fields from above, without covering other sensor fields.

Warning! Risk of burns from heat emitted. Lengthy cooking on higher settings with larger cookware on the front cooking zones can heat the sensor fields. Take care when touching sensor fields.

Note: After switching on, a heat setting or a function must be set within approximately 10 seconds, otherwise the appliance automatically switches itself off.

The keep warm setting ‘u’ lies between ‘0’ and ‘1’ and is used to keep food warm.

The STOP+GO function simultaneously switches all active cooking zones to the ‘keep warm’ setting. Touching it again returns them to their previously set heat settings.

Note: Timer functions are not stopped by STOP+GO. This function also locks the entire control panel except for the On/Off sensor field.

All cooking zones are equipped with an automatic warm-up function. This function sets the cooking zone to the highest setting (9) for a certain period and then automatically switches back to the desired cooking setting.

Step 1. Select the cooking zone and set the maximum heat setting (9 or P).

Step 2. Place the cookware to one side for a moment.

Step 3. Touch the ‘+’ sensor field. ‘A’ will appear in the display.

Step 4. Touch the ‘–’ sensor field to set the desired final cooking setting. The display will show the selected setting and ‘A’ will appear after 3 seconds, indicating the function is active.

The length of time the automatic warm-up function operates depends on the final heat setting selected:

The control panel, with the exception of the “On/Off” sensor field, can be locked to prevent settings being changed accidentally.

When you switch the appliance off, the locking function is automatically switched off.

The child safety device prevents unintentional use of the appliance.

Setting the child safety device:

Step 1. Switch on the appliance using the On/Off button. Do not set a heat setting.

Step 2. Touch the Lock sensor until the signal sounds.

Step 3. Touch the ‘+’ sensor. ‘L’ will appear in the display, and the appliance will switch off. The child safety device is now engaged.

Releasing the child safety device:

Step 1. Switch on the appliance. ‘L’ will be displayed.

Step 2. Touch the Lock sensor until the signal sounds.

Step 3. Touch the ‘–’ sensor. The appliance will switch off. The child safety device is now released.

Overriding the child safety device for a single cooking session:

Step 1. Switch on the appliance. ‘L’ will be displayed.

Step 2. Touch ‘+’ and ‘–’ at the same time. The display will show ‘0’ and an acoustic signal will sound. Until the appliance is next switched off, it can be used as normal.

The power function provides more power to an induction cooking zone for a short period, ideal for boiling a large quantity of water quickly. It is activated for 10 minutes, after which the zone automatically switches back to heat setting 9.

Power Management: The cooking zones are paired. If the Power function is activated on one zone, the power to the other zone in the pair may be reduced to stay within the maximum output. For example, if one zone is on setting 9 and you activate the Power function on its paired zone, the first zone’s heat setting may be reduced to 7.

The ELECTROLUX EHD90200P has two timer functions:

Selecting a cooking zone for the timer:

Touch the Timer button repeatedly until the pilot light for the desired cooking zone flashes.

Setting the time:

Step 1. Select the cooking zone using the Timer button.

Step 2. Touch ‘+’ or ‘–’ to set the time from 00 to 99 minutes.

After a few seconds, the pilot light flashes more slowly, indicating the time is set and counting down.

Switching off the Timer function:

Step 1. Select the cooking zone.

Step 2. Touch ‘–’ until the display shows ’00’, or touch ‘+’ and ‘–’ simultaneously. The timer for that zone is now switched off.

Your hob has several automatic switch-off safety features:

• If no heat setting is selected within 10 seconds of turning the hob on, it will switch off.

• If the control panel is covered by an object (pan, cloth) for more than 10 seconds, a signal will sound and the hob will switch off.

• If all cooking zones are switched off, the hob will switch off after 10 seconds.

• In case of overheating (e.g., a pan boiling dry), the cooking zone will switch off automatically.

• If a cooking zone is left on and the heat setting is not changed for a certain period, it will automatically switch off. The time depends on the heat setting:

Only use cookware with a base suitable for induction cooking.

Suitability test: Cookware is suitable for induction if a small amount of water heats up quickly on a zone set to 9, or if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware.

Bottom of the cookware: The bottom should be as thick and flat as possible.

Pan size: The magnetic part of the cookware bottom must have a minimum diameter depending on the cooking zone size. Cookware with a bottom diameter of less than 12cm is not suitable.

The power function is suitable for heating large quantities of liquid.

Take care! Risk of burns from residual heat. Ensure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning.

Warning! Sharp objects and abrasive cleaning materials will damage the appliance. Residues from cleaning agents will also damage the appliance.

Cleaning after each use:

Step 1. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid.

Step 2. Rub the appliance dry using a clean cloth.

Removing stubborn deposits:

Step 1. Place a scraper on the glass ceramic surface at an angle.

Step 2. Remove residues by sliding the blade over the surface.

Step 3. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid.

Step 4. Rub the appliance dry using a clean cloth.

*Scrapers and cleaners for glass ceramic and stainless steel can be purchased in specialized shops.
