The DORO 8035 has several key components:

Before you start using your new DORO 8035, you may need the following:

nano-SIM card: To use calls and mobile data, you need to install a SIM card from your mobile service provider.

Google account: To fully use your smartphone, you need a Google Account. You will be guided through the setup when you first start the phone. It’s a good idea to think of a username and password beforehand.

Memory card (optional): You can use a microSD card to increase the storage space for files, pictures, and videos. A high-speed memory card is recommended.

Wi-Fi access: If available, connecting to a Wi-Fi network can reduce mobile data costs and potentially increase data speed.

First, ensure the phone is turned off and the charger is disconnected.

1. Remove the back cover:

Be careful not to damage your fingernails. Do not bend or twist the battery cover excessively as it may get damaged.

2. Insert the nano-SIM card (not included):

Gently slide the nano-SIM card into its slot. Ensure the card’s contacts are facing inwards and the cut-off corner is positioned as shown in the device’s diagram. Avoid scratching or bending the contacts. This device accepts a nano-SIM or 4FF SIM card.

3. Insert the memory card (optional):

You can optionally insert a microSD or microSDHC memory card. Make sure the memory card’s contacts are facing as shown. To remove it later, use your fingernail on the small ridge of the card and gently pull it out.

4. Insert the battery:

Slide the battery into its compartment with the contacts facing up and to the right.

5. Replace the back cover.

It is recommended to fully charge your DORO 8035 before its first use.

1. Insert the small end of the included USB cable into the charging port on the phone.

2. Insert the other end of the USB cable into the wall charger and plug it into a wall socket.

3. Alternatively, you can plug the USB cable into a USB port on your computer, though charging is generally quicker from a wall socket.

If the phone is turned off during charging, you can press the Power button to view the charging status.

To turn on the phone:

1. Press and hold the Power button until the phone vibrates and the display lights up.

2. If requested, enter your SIM card PIN and select the confirmation checkmark.

3. Wait for the phone to start.

To turn off the phone:

1. Press and hold the Power button until the options menu appears.

2. In the options menu, tap Power off.

You can control your DORO 8035 using these gestures:

Tap: Touch an item, like an app icon or button, to select or open it.

Double tap: Touch the same item twice quickly to zoom in on a map or an image.

Long press: Touch and hold an item on the screen. This is often used to start an action, like moving an icon.

Swipe: Press your finger on the screen and drag it in any direction to move between screens or scroll through lists.

Pinch: Place two fingers separated on the screen and pinch them together to zoom out.

Zoom: Place two fingers together on the screen and spread them apart to zoom in.

Rotate view in maps: Use two fingers to rotate the map clockwise or counterclockwise.

Drag and drop: Long press an item to “pick it up,” move your finger to a new location, and then release your finger to “drop” it.

The main keys on your DORO 8035 function as follows:

Recents key (square symbol): Press to view recently used applications. You can swipe an app left or right to close it, or tap it to open it.

Home key (circle symbol): Press to return to the Home screen from any application. Press and hold to launch Google Now.

Back key (triangle symbol): Press to return to the previous screen or close a dialog box, menu, or keyboard.

Volume keys (+/-): During a call, these adjust the call volume. From standby, they adjust the ringtone volume. In media apps, they adjust media volume. In Camera mode, they can be used to zoom.

Power button (on the side): Press and hold to turn the phone on or off. Briefly press to lock or activate the screen.

You can set a screen lock to prevent unwanted actions on the touchscreen.

1. From the main menu, tap Set.

2. Tap ‘A general option’ then ‘My screen lock’.

3. Tap to select one of the following options:

None: No security. Press the Power button to unlock.

Swipe: (Default setting) No security. Slide your finger up to unlock.

Pattern: Medium security. Trace a pattern connecting at least four dots to unlock.

PIN: Medium to high security. Enter a PIN of at least four numbers to unlock.

Password: High security. Enter a password of at least four characters (letters, numbers, and/or symbols) to unlock.

To open the application screen:

From the Home screen, swipe up or tap the arrow at the bottom of the screen. Tap ‘My applications’ to see all your apps.

To add new applications:

1. Open the application screen and tap ‘My applications’.

2. Tap ‘I want to’.

3. Tap ‘Add’. You can then choose from ‘Recommended applications’, ‘View by categories’, or ‘Search on Play Store’ to find and install new apps.

To uninstall applications:

1. Open the application screen and tap ‘My applications’.

2. Tap ‘I want to’.

3. Tap ‘Uninstall’.

4. Tap the trash icon for the items you want to delete. Note that some system apps cannot be uninstalled.

5. Tap ‘Yes’ to confirm.

1. Find the screen you want to capture.

2. Simultaneously press and hold the Power button and the Volume minus key.

The screenshot will be saved to your phone’s gallery.

You can connect to the Internet using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Connect to a Wi-Fi network:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Set’, then ‘My Internet connection’, then ‘Wi-Fi’.

2. Switch the toggle to enable Wi-Fi. A list of available networks will be displayed.

3. Select a network and tap ‘Connect’. If the network is secured, you will need to enter the password.

Connect using mobile data:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Set’, then ‘My Internet connection’, then ‘My Mobile data settings’.

2. Switch the toggle to enable mobile data.

3. When done, tap the checkmark to confirm.

You can extend your battery life with these tips:

Battery Saver Mode: To enable, go to Set -> A general option -> Advanced settings -> Battery -> Battery saver. You can switch it on manually or set it to turn on automatically at a certain battery level.

General Tips:

Charge your phone often, preferably daily.

Turn off mobile data when not needed. Data is still transmitted over Wi-Fi.

Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use.

Deactivate auto-syncing of apps and sync them manually.

Decrease the screen brightness.

In areas with no network coverage, activate Aeroplane mode to stop the phone from scanning for networks.

Turn off GPS location services when not needed.

Lock the screen when not in use by pressing the Power button.

To make a call:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Call’.

2. Tap ‘A number’.

3. Enter the phone number. The phone may offer suggestions as you type.

4. Tap ‘Call’ or tap a suggested contact to start the call.

To answer a call:

The phone will ring or vibrate. The screen will light up.

From a locked screen: Swipe up on the phone icon to answer. Swipe down from the top and tap ‘Reject’ to decline.

From an unlocked screen: Tap ‘Answer’ to accept the call or ‘Reject’ to decline.

To end a call:

Tap ‘Hang up’ (red phone icon).

The Assistance button on the back of the phone can be used to easily contact predefined help numbers.

To set it up:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Set’ -> ‘An assistance option’ -> ‘My assistance button’.

2. Tap ‘Configure’ and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. You will need to select how to activate the function (e.g., Long press), add assistance contacts from your phone book, and customize the alert message if desired.

To make an assistance call:

Press and hold the assistance button for 3 seconds, or press it three times within 1 second. The assistance call sequence will begin after a 5-second delay, during which you can press Cancel to stop a false alarm.

To add a new contact:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Add’ then ‘A contact’.

2. Enter the contact’s information (name, phone number, etc.).

3. When you have filled in the information, tap ‘Save’.

To manage existing contacts:

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘View’ then ‘My contacts’.

2. Tap a contact to open their details.

3. Tap ‘Edit’ to change their information. You can also tap the star icon to add/remove them as a favorite.

4. Tap ‘Save’ when you are done.

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Send’ then ‘A message’.

2. Tap ‘A number’.

3. Enter the phone number or start typing a name to select from your contacts.

4. Tap ‘Pick number’ or tap the suggested contact.

5. Compose your message in the text field.

6. When done, tap ‘Send’.

To open the Camera:

From the Home screen, tap the ‘Camera’ icon. Alternatively, you can tap ‘Snap’ and then ‘A photo’.

To take a photo:

Aim the camera and tap the on-screen shutter button.

To take a selfie:

1. In the camera app, tap the icon to switch to the front camera.

2. Position your face in the display and tap the shutter button.

To record a video:

1. On the camera preview screen, tap the record button to start recording.

2. Tap the stop button to stop recording.

Camera Settings:

You can access various settings within the camera app:

Focus: Tap on the screen where you want the camera to focus.

Zoom: Pinch or spread two fingers on the screen, or use the volume keys.

Flash: Tap the flash icon to change flash settings.

More options: Tap the ‘More options’ icon for additional settings.

Resetting the phone will erase most information, including downloaded apps, accounts, and system settings. Be sure to back up any data you want to keep before you proceed.

1. From the Home screen, tap ‘Set’ -> ‘A general option’ -> ‘Advanced settings’ -> ‘Backup & reset’.

2. Select ‘Factory data reset’. Carefully read the on-screen information.

3. Select ‘Reset phone’.

4. Select ‘Erase everything’ to confirm. This is the final step, and all data will be permanently erased.

After the reset, the phone will be set back to its original factory defaults.

1. Connect a headset to the headset socket. The headset acts as the antenna.

2. From the Home screen, tap ‘Listen’ -> ‘To the radio’.

3. The radio will turn on. You can tap the arrow icons to scan for channels.

4. Press the play icon to listen and the stop icon to stop. Use the side volume keys to adjust the volume.

5. To turn off the radio, disconnect the headset or tap the power off icon in the radio app.
