When installing the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU into an opening, the following minimum dimensions must be met:

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury, follow these basic precautions for the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU:

If the appliance is damaged, check with the supplier before installation and operation.

Do not use the heater outdoors.

Do not use the heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, or swimming pool.

Do not locate the appliance immediately below a fixed socket outlet or connection box.

The DIMPLEX SPK26-EU must be earthed.

The use of an extension lead or multi-plug adaptor is not advised as it could lead to overheating and fire risk.

Keep combustible materials such as drapes and furnishings clear from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.

Do not use the heater to dry laundry.

Always keep the supply cord away from the front of the appliance.

1. Seal Drafts and Vents: If installing the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU in an existing fireplace opening, seal all drafts and vents with non-fibrous insulation material. Do not install into an opening prone to dampness.

2. Surface Requirements: Do not install the fireplace directly on carpet or similar surfaces that may restrict airflow beneath the unit.

3. Accessibility: The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible after installation.

4. Electrical Connection: Two power cords are provided (EU or UK option). Ensure you install the suitable power cord for your region.

This option is recommended if the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU is being placed in a console with a closed back:

1. Remove the magnetic inner side panels from the unit.

2. Hook the mounting brackets to each side of the firebox.

3. Align the front of the firebox (without the front glass and side panels) with the front face of the opening.

4. Secure the firebox to the framing using screws threaded through the mounting brackets.

5. Once the firebox is secured, reinstall the side panels.

This method is used if the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU is being placed in a console with an open back:

1. Remove two of the screws on the bottom flange of the unit.

2. Use the provided L-bracket to secure the firebox to the mantel, using the screws removed in the previous step.

1. Remove the clear plastic sheet from the spring. Avoid touching the springs with your hands. Ensure the spring is not damaged.

2. Unpack the front glass and verify that the hooks on the glass are straight and undamaged.

3. Align the hooks on the glass with the holes on the engine.

4. Insert the four hooks into the holes and allow the glass to slide down to the bottom edge of the holes.

5. Ensure the front glass is securely mounted before powering the unit on.

Manual Controls: The touch controls are located on the front glass. Touch the hidden control area to the right side of the small clear window to activate them. The digital display will highlight your selection and return to a hidden state after 5 seconds of inactivity.

Remote Control: The multi-function infrared remote has a range of approximately 6 meters. It must be pointed toward the front of the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU to operate.

Note: Ensure the front glass is correctly mounted before plugging the unit in, as this is necessary for the touch icons to activate. If they are not active, unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Press the Heat button to cycle through the following functions:

Low Heat: The display shows “Lo”.

High Heat: The display shows “Hi”.

Cool Airflow: The display shows “Cb”.

Off: Disables the heating function.

After selecting a mode, the display will show the room temperature after two seconds. The heat icon remains illuminated when a heat setting is active.

Press the Temperature button multiple times to cycle through settings from 17 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius (62 degrees Fahrenheit to 92 degrees Fahrenheit).

Press the button once to display the current set temperature. It will flash for 3 seconds before returning to show the room temperature.

On the remote control, use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to adjust the thermostat.

To disable the heater: On the touch panel, press and hold the Heat and Temperature buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. When disabled, the display will show “–” when the Temperature button is pressed.

To enable the heater: Press and hold the Heat and Temperature buttons simultaneously again for 5 seconds.

Press the Colour Themes button multiple times to turn the media on or off and change colors. The display will show the theme code:

t0: Midnight mode

t1: Media white

t2: Media red/orange

t3: Media blue

t4: Media purple

t5: Media green

t6: Prism mode (colour cycle)

Press the Timer button multiple times to set the sleep timer in 0.5-hour increments, ranging from 0.5 hours to 8 hours. Press the button again to display the remaining time. The timer indicator light will be illuminated while the timer is active.

Method 1: Bluetooth Connection

1. On the DIMPLEX SPK26-EU, press the WiFi button for 5 seconds until the blue WiFi indicator flashes.

2. Open the Glen Dimplex Connect app on your mobile phone (ensure location services and WiFi are enabled).

3. Click “Add” when you see the device appear.

4. Enter your WiFi name and password, then click “Next” to pair.

5. The blue WiFi indicator will remain lit once connected.

1. Remove the screw on the battery cover using a Philips screwdriver.

2. Depress the tab and pull out to release the battery compartment from the bottom of the remote.

3. Install one 3 Volt CR2032 (longer life) or CR2025 battery into the compartment.

4. Reinsert the battery compartment and secure it with the screw.

Caution: Keep batteries out of reach of children as swallowing may lead to serious injury or death.

Should the heater overheat, an automatic cutout will turn the heater off. To reset it:

1. Unplug the unit or turn off the circuit.

2. Wait 5 minutes for the unit to cool down.

3. Power the unit back on.

Inspect the electric firebox regularly. At a minimum, perform maintenance at yearly intervals:

Disconnect power by unplugging the unit and allow the heater to cool before cleaning.

Remove dust and clean the unit with a damp cloth as required.

Except for basic installation and cleaning, any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Ingestion of button batteries may not show obvious symptoms. Be vigilant if a child exhibits the following:

Coughing, gagging, or excessive drooling.

Appearing to have a stomach upset or virus.

Being sick or vomiting fresh (bright red) blood.

Pointing to their throat or stomach, or having pain in the abdomen, chest, or throat.

Being tired, lethargic, quieter, or more clingy than usual.

Loss of appetite or inability to eat solid food.

If battery ingestion is suspected, seek immediate medical attention.
