The DIMPLEX SPK23-EU operates with the following electrical specifications:

A 10 Amp, 240 Volt circuit is required. While a dedicated circuit is preferred, it is essential if the circuit breaker trips or the fuse blows regularly during operation. This appliance must be earthed. Do not use an extension lead or multi-plug adaptor as it leads to a risk of overloading and overheating.

To ensure proper installation of the DIMPLEX SPK23-EU, the opening must meet the following minimum dimensions:

Step 1. Remove the magnetic inner side panels from the unit.

Step 2. Hook the mounting brackets to each side of the firebox.

Step 3. Align the front of the firebox (without the front glass and side panels) with the front face of the installation opening.

Step 4. Secure the firebox to the framing using screws threaded through the mounting brackets.

Step 5. Once the firebox is secured, reinstall the magnetic side panels.

Step 1. Remove the clear plastic sheet from the spring. Ensure the spring is not damaged. Avoid touching the springs with your hands after the plastic is removed.

Step 2. Unpack the front glass and verify that the hooks on the glass are straight and undamaged.

Step 3. Align the hooks on the glass with the holes on the engine. Insert the four hooks into the holes and allow the glass to slide down to the bottom edge of the holes.

Step 4. Confirm the front glass is securely mounted. Note: The glass must be correctly mounted for the touch icons to activate.

The manual controls are located on the front glass. Touch the hidden control to the right of the small clear window to activate the icons. Select an icon, and the digital display will highlight your choice. The panel returns to its hidden state after 5 seconds of inactivity. The small power icon remains lit whenever the unit is powered.

To disable the heater, press and hold both the Heat and Temperature buttons simultaneously on the touch panel for 5 seconds. When disabled, the display will show “–” when the temperature button is pressed. To enable the heater again, press and hold the same two buttons for 5 seconds.

To switch between temperature units, press and hold the Temperature and Flame buttons simultaneously on the touch panel.

Step 1. Download the “Glen Dimplex Connect” app, enable location services, and ensure your phone is on WiFi.

Step 2. Register or login and click “Add Device”.

Step 3. On the fireplace, press the WiFi button for 5 seconds until the blue indicator flashes.

Step 4. In the app, click “Add” when the device is found.

Step 5. Enter your WiFi credentials and click “Next” to pair. The blue indicator will stay lit once connected.

Step 1. Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screw on the battery cover.

Step 2. Depress the tab and pull out the battery compartment from the bottom of the remote.

Step 3. Install one 3 Volt CR2032 or CR2025 battery into the compartment.

Step 4. Reinsert the compartment and secure it with the screw.

The unit is equipped with an automatic cutout switch that turns the heater off if it overheats. To reset it, unplug the unit or turn off the circuit breaker. Wait for 5 minutes for the unit to cool down before powering it back on.

Keep batteries out of reach of children. Swallowing button batteries can lead to chemical burns, perforation of the esophagus, or death in as little as 2 hours. Seek immediate medical attention if ingestion is suspected. Symptoms may include:

Coughing, gagging, or drooling.

Appearing to have a stomach upset or virus.

Being sick or vomiting fresh (bright red) blood.

Pain in the abdomen, chest, or throat.

Lethargy or loss of appetite.

Always ensure the battery compartment is secured with the provided screw.

Inspect the firebox regularly and at a minimum once per year. Remove dust and clean the unit with a damp cloth as needed. Always disconnect the power and allow the heater to cool before attempting any cleaning or maintenance to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
