What are the key safety instructions for the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX dehumidifier?

Please read these instructions before operating the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX dehumidifier.

• Use only the voltage specified on the rating plate of the heater.

• Do not cover or restrict airflow to the inlet or exhaust grilles in any manner as the appliance may overheat and become a fire risk.

• Keep all objects at least 0.2 metres from the appliance.

• Do not insert or allow foreign objects or metal utensils to enter any vent opening. This may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the appliance.

• Do not clean the unit by spraying it or immersing it in water.

• Never connect the unit to an electrical outlet using an extension cord. If a power outlet is not available, one should be installed by a qualified electrician.

• Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than its intended use. It is not for outdoor use.

• Do not tilt the unit while in use. The unit is designed to work only in a vertical position.

• This dehumidifier must always be stored and transported upright. If in doubt, wait at least 24 hours before starting the unit.

• Once the unit has been switched off, allow 5 minutes before restarting to prevent damage to the compressor.

• Never use the plug as a switch to start or turn off the dehumidifier. Use the power button on the control panel.

• Always place the unit on a dry and stable surface.

• The appliance should not be installed in laundry or wet rooms where the humidity is higher than 85% RH.

• Do not use the appliance to dry clothes.

• Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after it malfunctions or has been damaged.

How should I install the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX for the first time?

Before starting the unit, remove any water from within the water tank. To save energy, do not open windows or doors while the unit is running. Place the unit on a hard, flat surface. For the first use, run the unit continuously for 24 hours.

Where is the best place to position the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX dehumidifier?

A badly positioned dehumidifier will have little effect. When positioning the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX, ensure circulation of air is not restricted around the unit.

• Allow at least 20cm of space around the unit and 50cm from a window.

• Use in an enclosed area for maximum efficiency. Close all doors and windows.

• The unit should be positioned in a central and clear location so that it can draw moist air towards it. A warm hallway or landing is an excellent position. If possible, leave interior doors ajar to allow air circulation.

• Place the dehumidifier on a flat, dry surface.

• Do not place the unit directly against a radiator or other heat source.

• For a serious problem in one area, you can start by positioning the dehumidifier there before moving it to a more central location.

How do I fit the carbon filter on the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

What are the functions of the control panel buttons on the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

POWER: Turns the appliance on/off.

MODE: Selects the operating mode between Laundry and Auto. The fan will operate continuously to monitor the humidity.

AUTO MODE: The unit starts dehumidifying when humidity increases to 5% above the desired level and stops when it drops to 5% below. The default desired humidity is 55% RH.

LAUNDRY MODE: The unit dehumidifies continuously until the water tank is full or it enters a defrost cycle. This is ideal for drying clothes.

TARGET HUMIDITY: In Auto Mode, press this to adjust the desired room humidity between 35% and 80% in 5% increments. The initial default is 55% RH.

FAN SPEED: Press to change between HIGH and LOW fan speeds.

HUMIDITY INDICATOR: Press this button to turn the humidity display light on or off. The light color changes according to the humidity level.

TIMER: Press the TIMER button to program the timer. The “TIMER” light will illuminate when active. This allows you to set a delayed power-off function from 0-24 hours while the appliance is running.

What do the different colors of the Humidity Indicator on the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX mean?

When the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX is started, the indicator light turns on automatically and changes color according to the ambient humidity:

RED: High humidity (RH ≥ 70%)

ORANGE: Above ideal humidity (70% > RH ≥ 60%)

GREEN: Ideal humidity (RH < 60%)

Note: It can take around 2 minutes for the indicator light to change color after the humidity level has changed.

What does the display on the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX show?

The display shows the desired humidity when the TARGET HUMIDITY button is pressed. It shows the timer duration when the TIMER button is pressed.

What is the Auto Defrost feature on the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will cycle off and the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX will enter defrost mode. After the defrost cycle is complete, the unit will return to its previous operating settings. The frequency and duration of the defrost mode depend on the room temperature:

Between 0 and 12°C: Defrost mode for 8 minutes roughly every 30 minutes.

Between 12 and 16°C: Defrost mode for 5 minutes roughly every 60 minutes.

Between 16 and 20°C: Defrost mode for 5 minutes roughly every 90 minutes.

How do I drain the collected water from the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

There are two ways to dispense the water collected by the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX.

1. Use the Tank:

When the water tank is full, the unit will automatically stop, display “E2” on the control panel, and bleep. To empty it:

• Slowly pull out the tank.

• Empty the water tank and reinsert it securely into the dehumidifier.

• The dehumidifier will restart once the tank is back in its correct position.

NOTE: When removing the tank, do not touch any sensors or parts behind it. Push the tank gently all the way into the unit to ensure it is seated correctly.

2. Continuous Drainage:

Water can be automatically drained into a sink or other drainage point by attaching a pipe (9 mm internal diameter, 1.5m pipe supplied) to the drain outlet at the back of the unit.

• Insert the pipe into the drain outlet, ensuring the connection is tight and does not leak.

• Direct the pipe to a suitable drainage point. This unit uses gravity, so the drain point must be lower than the water outlet on the unit.

• Put the water tank back in place.

• Ensure the water pipe runs downward and is not kinked or bent.

How do I clean and maintain my DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

Always shut off the unit and unplug it from the mains before cleaning or maintenance. Do not use chemical solvents like benzene, alcohol, or gasoline.

CLEAN THE GRILLE AND CASE:

Use water and a mild detergent to clean the washable filter frame. Do not splash water directly onto the main unit. The air intake and outlet grilles can be cleaned with a vacuum attachment or a soft brush. Wipe the dehumidifier body with a soft damp cloth or kitchen towel.

CLEAN THE FILTER:

Remove the filter frame. If optional carbon filters are fitted, remove and hoover them gently approximately every 2-3 weeks. If the mesh filter is dirty, hoover it. If it is heavily soiled, wash it with warm soapy water and dry it thoroughly before reinserting it.

CLEAN THE WATER TANK:

Every few weeks, clean the tank to prevent the growth of mould, mildew, and bacteria. Partially fill the tank with clean water and a little mild detergent. Swish it around, then empty and rinse the tank. The tank must be reinserted securely to restart operation. Do not use a dishwasher to clean the tank.

How should I prepare the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX for storage?

1. Run the unit for at least 30 minutes with the desired humidity set to max to allow the unit to dry internally.

2. After 30 minutes, empty and clean the water tank, ensuring it is fully dry before reinserting it.

3. Clean the unit and the filters as per the cleaning procedure.

4. Coil the power cord on the special cord storage rest at the back of the unit.

5. Cover the unit and keep it in a dry place.

Why doesn’t the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX seem to extract much water if the temperature is low?

The DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX is a compressor dehumidifier which works best in temperatures above 15°C. If the temperature is low and the air is drier than the setting on the humidistat, the unit will not extract water.

Why doesn’t my DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX work or why does it stop suddenly?

The water tank may be full or displaced. To rectify, empty the tank and carefully place it back in the unit. Also, the unit may be running in a low room temperature below 5°C. If so, the unit will stop working while in dehumidifying mode and may be defrosting.

Why does cold and/or hot air come out from the air outlet grill of the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

This is normal operation. When the unit is in dehumidifying mode, it absorbs humid air from the room and freezes it to reduce the humidity. During the cold cycle, cold air will come out of the unit. During the hot cycle (defrost cycle), hot dry air will come out of the outlet grill.

What is the recommended operating range for the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX?

The ambient operating range for the DEXPRO DXDH10 DELUX is between 5°C and 35°C with a relative humidity ranging from 35% to 80%. For maximum efficiency, use the unit between 15°C and 32°C.
