Use the following safety guidelines to protect your DELL E2225H monitor from potential damage and to ensure your personal safety.

• Place the DELL E2225H monitor on a solid surface and handle it carefully. The screen is fragile and can be damaged if dropped or hit with a sharp object.
• Ensure that your DELL E2225H monitor is electrically rated to operate with the AC power available in your location.
• Keep the DELL E2225H monitor in room temperature. Excessive cold or hot conditions can have an adverse effect on the liquid crystal of the display.
• Connect the power cable from the DELL E2225H monitor to a wall outlet that is near and accessible.
• Do not place and use the DELL E2225H monitor on a wet surface or near water.
• Do not subject the DELL E2225H monitor to severe vibration or high impact conditions. For example, do not place the DELL E2225H monitor inside a car trunk.
• Unplug the DELL E2225H monitor when it is going to be left unused for an extended period.
• To avoid electric shock, do not attempt to remove any cover or touch the inside of the DELL E2225H monitor.
• Read these instructions carefully. Keep this document for future reference. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on product.

The DELL E2225H flat panel monitor features include:

• BFR/PVC-Reduced (Its circuit boards are made from BFR/PVC-free laminates).

• Dell ComfortView Plus is an integrated low blue light screen feature that improves eye comfort by reducing potentially harmful blue light emissions without compromising color. This monitor is certified with TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 3.0 with a 3-star rating. It incorporates key technologies that also deliver a flicker-free screen, up to 75 Hz refresh rate, a color gamut of minimum 95% sRGB. Dell ComfortView Plus feature is enabled by default on your monitor.
• This monitor uses a low blue light panel. When the monitor is reset to factory settings or default setting, it is in compliance with TÜV Rheinland’s hardware low blue light certification.* (This monitor is in compliance with TÜV Rheinland hardware low blue light certification under Category 3.)
• The monitor adopts Flicker-Free technology, which clears the eye visible flicker, brings comfort viewing experience and preventing users suffer from eye strain and fatigue.

To attach the monitor stand for the DELL E2225H monitor:

1. Assemble the stand riser to stand base.

• Place the monitor stand base on a stable table top.
• Slide the monitor stand body in the correct direction down onto the stand base until it clicks into place.

2. Attach the stand assembly to the monitor.

• Place the DELL E2225H monitor on a soft cloth or cushion near the edge of the desk.
• Align the stand assembly bracket to the monitor groove.
• Insert the bracket towards monitor until it locks in place.
• Attach VESA cover.

To connect your DELL E2225H monitor to the computer:

1. Turn off your computer and disconnect the power cable.

2. Connect the VGA or DP cable from your DELL E2225H monitor to the computer.

For connecting the VGA cable, the VGA port on the monitor connects to the computer with the VGA cable.

For connecting the DP cable, the DisplayPort 1.2 port on the DELL E2225H monitor connects to your computer with the DisplayPort cable.

Use the cable-management clip to route the cables connected to your DELL E2225H monitor.

To remove the stand for the DELL E2225H monitor:

1. Place the DELL E2225H monitor on a soft cloth along the desk.

2. Use a long and thin screwdriver to push the released button.

3. While keeping the release button pressed, pull the stand out from the monitor. Then press the quick release tab on the bottom of the base, to separate the stand base from the stand riser.

To remove the VESA cover on the DELL E2225H monitor, press the rift on the VESA cover to release it from the back of the display.

You can tilt the DELL E2225H monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle. The tilt adjustment ranges from -5° to 21°.

Press the Power button to turn on the DELL E2225H monitor. A solid white light indicates that the monitor is turned on and functioning normally. Blinking white light indicates that the monitor is in Standby Mode.

The front panel control buttons on the DELL E2225H monitor have the following descriptions and uses:

To lock the buttons on the DELL E2225H monitor using the Lock menu:

1. Select one of the following options in the OSD main menu under Lock:

• Menu Buttons (Select this option to lock OSD menu function.)
• Power Button (Select this option to lock power button.)
• Menu + Power Buttons (Select this option to lock OSD menu and power button.)
• Built-in Diagnostics (Select this option to run the built-in diagnostics.)

2. When the message “Are you sure you want to lock the Menu Buttons? To unlock the Buttons, refer to the User’s Guide.” appears, select Yes to lock the buttons. Once locked, pressing any control button will display the lock icon.

To lock the buttons on the DELL E2225H monitor using the front-panel control button:

1. Press and hold Button 4 for four seconds, a menu appears on the screen.

2. Select one of the following options in the lock menu:

• Menu Buttons lock: Select this option to lock OSD menu function.
• Power Button lock: Select this option to lock power button.
• Menu and Power Buttons lock: Select this option to lock OSD menu and power button.
• Built-in Diagnostics: Select this option to run the built-in diagnostics.

To unlock the front-panel control buttons on the DELL E2225H monitor, press and hold Button 4 for four seconds until a menu appears on the screen. Then select the corresponding unlock option:

• Menu Buttons unlock: Select this option to unlock OSD menu function.
• Power Button unlock: Select this option to unlock power button.
• Menu and Power Buttons unlock: Select this option to unlock OSD menu and power button.
• Built-in Diagnostics: Select this option to run the built-in diagnostics.

The OSD control buttons on the bottom edge of the DELL E2225H monitor are used to adjust the image settings as follows:

To display the OSD main menu on the DELL E2225H monitor, press the Menu button.

To move between the setting options, press the Up and Down buttons. As you move from one icon to another, the option name is highlighted.

Press the Menu button once to activate the highlighted option.

Press the Up and Down buttons to select the desired parameter.

Press the Up and Down buttons, according to the indicators on the menu, to make your changes.

Select the Back button going back to previous menu.

Any changes you make are automatically saved when you move to another menu, exit the OSD menu, or wait for the OSD menu to close automatically.

Possible solutions for a “No video/Power LED off” symptom on the DELL E2225H monitor are:

• Ensure that the video cable connecting the DELL E2225H monitor and the computer is properly connected and secure.
• Verify that the power outlet is functioning properly using any other electrical equipment.
• Ensure that the power button is pressed.
• Ensure that the correct input source is selected via the Input Source menu.

Possible solutions for “Image retention from a static image left on the DELL E2225H monitor for a long period of time” are:

• Set the screen to turn off after a few minutes of screen idle time. These can be adjusted in Windows Power Options or Mac Energy Saver setting.
• Alternatively, use a dynamically changing screensaver.

To address “Video ghosting or overshooting” on the DELL E2225H monitor, change the Response Time in the Display OSD to Fast or Normal depending on your application and usage.

Possible solutions for a “Screen image is too small” symptom on the DELL E2225H monitor are:

• Check if the OSD menu is locked. If yes, press and hold the Exit button (button 4) for four seconds to unlock.

Possible solutions if “No input signal when user controls are pressed” on the DELL E2225H monitor are:

• Check the signal source. Ensure that the computer is not in standby or sleep mode by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.
• Check if the video cable is plugged in properly. Disconnect and reconnect the video cable if necessary.
• Reset the computer or video player.

Possible solutions if “The picture does not fill the entire screen” on the DELL E2225H monitor are:

• Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs, the monitor may display in full screen.
• Run the built-in diagnostics.

To run the self-test feature on the DELL E2225H monitor to check if it is functioning properly:

1. Turn off both your computer and the DELL E2225H monitor.

2. Disconnect all video cables from the DELL E2225H monitor. To ensure proper self-test operation, remove all digital cables from the back of computer.

3. Turn on the DELL E2225H monitor.

A dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background), if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains white.

4. Turn off your DELL E2225H monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on your computer and the DELL E2225H monitor.

If your monitor screen remains blank after you perform the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer, because your monitor is functioning properly.

To run the built-in diagnostics on the DELL E2225H monitor:

1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).

2. Press and hold Button 4 for about 4 seconds and wait for a pop-up menu.

3. Use Button 1 or 2 to select the Menu Buttons lock icon and press Button 3 to confirm.

A gray test pattern appears at the beginning of the diagnostic program.

4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.

5. Press Button 1 to change the test patterns.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to inspect the display in red, green, blue, black, white, and text screens.

7. When in white color test screen, check for white color uniformity and if there white color appears greenish/reddish and so on.

8. Press Button 1 to end the diagnostic program.

To set the maximum resolution for the DELL E2225H monitor in Windows 10 and Windows 11:

1. Right-click on the desktop and click Display settings.

2. If you have more than one monitor connected, ensure that you select DELL E2225H.

3. Click the Display settings drop-down list and select 1920 x 1080.

4. Click Keep changes.

If you do not see 1920 x 1080 as an option, you must update your graphics driver to the latest version. Depending on your computer, complete one of the following procedures:

• If you have a Dell desktop or laptop: Go to the support site, enter your service tag, and download the latest driver for your graphics card.
• If you are using a non-Dell computer (laptop or desktop): Go to the support site for your non-Dell computer and download the latest graphic card drivers, or go to the graphics card’s website and download the latest graphic card drivers.

Use the Input Source menu on the DELL E2225H monitor to switch between the different video signals that may be connected to your monitor.

• VGA: Push the Menu button to select the VGA input source when using VGA connector.
• DP: Push the Menu button to select the DP input source when using DP connector.
• Auto Select: Select Auto Select to scan for available input signals.
• Reset Input Source: Select this option to restore default input source.

Use color to adjust the color setting mode on the DELL E2225H monitor:

Preset Modes allows you to choose from a list of preset color modes:

• Standard: Load the monitor’s default color settings. This is the default preset mode.
• Warm: Increase the color temperature. The screen appears warmer with a red/yellow tint.
• Cool: Decrease the color temperature. The screen appears cooler with a blue tint.
• Custom Color: Allows you to manually adjust the color settings. Press the Up and Down buttons to adjust the three colors (R, G, B) values and create your own preset color mode.

Input Color Format allows you to set the video input mode to:

• RGB: Select this option if your DELL E2225H monitor is connected to a computer or a media player that supports RGB output.
• YCbCr/YPbPr*: Select this option if your media player supports only YCbCr/YPbPr output. (*When DP input is selected.) For VGA input, you can select YPbPr.

Reset Color: Reset your monitor color settings to the factory settings.

Use the Display menu on the DELL E2225H monitor to adjust image settings:

• Aspect Ratio: Adjust the image ratio to 16:9, 4:3, or 5:4.
• Horizontal Position (VGA input only): Use the Up or Down buttons to move image left and right. Minimum is ‘0’ (-). Maximum is ‘100’ (+).
• Vertical Position (VGA input only): Use the Up or Down buttons to move image up and down. Minimum is ‘0’ (-). Maximum is ‘100’ (+).
• Sharpness: This feature can make the image look sharper or softer. Use the Up or Down buttons to adjust the sharpness from 0 to 100.
• Pixel Clock (VGA input only): The Pixel Clock feature enables you to adjust image quality on your DELL E2225H monitor according to your preference. Use the Up or Down buttons to adjust for best image quality. If satisfactory results are not obtained using the Phase adjustment, use the Pixel Clock (coarse) adjustment and then use Phase (fine), again.
• Phase (VGA input only): If satisfactory results are not obtained using the Phase adjustment, use the Pixel Clock (coarse) adjustment and then use Phase (fine), again.
• Response Time: Allows you to select between Normal (8 ms), Fast (5 ms).
• Reset Display: Select this option to restore default display settings.

The Menu option on the DELL E2225H monitor allows you to adjust the settings of the OSD:

• Language: Language option sets the OSD display to one of the eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, or Japanese.
• Transparency: Select this option to change the menu transparency by pressing the Up or Down buttons from 0 to 100.
• Timer: OSD hold time sets the length of time, the OSD will remain active after the last time you pressed a button. Use the Up or Down buttons to adjust the slider in 1 second increments, from 5 to 60 seconds.
• Lock: With the control buttons on the monitor locked, you can prevent people from accessing the controls. It also prevents accidental activation in multiple monitors side-by-side setup. Options are:
  • Menu Buttons: All Menu/function buttons (except the power button) are locked and not accessible by the user.
  • Power Button: Only the Power button is locked and cannot be accessed.
  • Menu + Power Buttons: Both the Menu/function and power buttons are locked and cannot be accessed.
  The default setting is Disable. To unlock the button(s), press and hold the Exit button (button 4) of the monitor for 4 seconds.
• Reset Menu: Select this option to restore default menu settings.

The Personalize option on the DELL E2225H monitor allows you to set two shortcut keys and power LED indicator function:

• Shortcut Key 1: Allow you to select one of the following: Preset Modes, Brightness/Contrast, Auto Adjust, Input Source, Aspect Ratio, to set the shortcut key 1.
• Shortcut Key 2: Allow you to select one of the following: Preset Modes, Brightness/Contrast, Auto Adjust, Input Source, Aspect Ratio, to set the shortcut key 2.
• Power Button LED: Allow you to set the power LED indicator On in On Mode or Off in On Mode to save energy.
• Reset Personalization: Allow you to restore shortcut key to the default setting.

DDC/CI (Display Data Channel/Command Interface) allows you to adjust the monitor settings using software on your computer from the Others menu:

• Select Off to turn off this feature.
• Select On to enable this feature for best user experience and optimum performance of your DELL E2225H monitor.

LCD Conditioning (under Others) helps reduce minor cases of image retention. Depending on the degree of image retention, the program may take some time to run. To start LCD Conditioning, select On.

Reset Others: Reset all settings under the Others setting menu to the factory default.

Factory Reset: Restore all preset values to the factory default setting. These are also the settings for ENERGY STAR tests.

Possible solutions for a “Screen image is too small” symptom on the DELL E2225H monitor are:

• Check the Aspect Ratio setting in the Display settings OSD.
• Reset the DELL E2225H monitor to factory settings (Factory Reset).

Possible solutions when you “Cannot adjust the DELL E2225H monitor with the buttons on the bottom of the panel” are:
