The COWAY AP-1512HH has several key features:

The COWAY AP-1512HH uses a three-stage filtration process:

1. Pre-filter: This is the first stage, which removes relatively large particles such as dust, mold, human hair, and pet hair.

2. Deodorization filter: This filter is effective at trapping odor and harmful gases, keeping your space fresh and odor-free.

3. True HEPA filter: This high-performance composite filter effectively removes fine dust and cigarette smoke up to 99.97%.

The quality level of the indoor air can be determined by the color of the round lamp on the top of the air purifier. The colors indicate the following pollution levels:

Blue: Clean

Dark Purple: Polluted

Red: Highly polluted

Before installing, make sure to remove each filter’s plastic bag. Follow these steps:

1. Open the front cover by pulling the upper part of it.

2. Take out the filters and remove their plastic packaging.

3. Install the filters in the following order: Pre-filter → Deodorization filter → True HEPA filter. Ensure the front side of the filters is in the correct direction.

4. When you install the Pre-filter, make sure to push the grip to install it firmly.

1. Speed indicator: Shows the current fan speed (Auto, 1, 2, 3).

2. Eco mode indicator: Turns on when Eco mode is activated.

3. Ionizer indicator: Shows whether the ionizer is turned on or off.

4. Timer indicator: Shows the current time setting for air purification (1hr, 4hr, 8hr).

5. Filter replacement indicator: Lights up when a filter needs to be replaced. There are separate lights for the ODOR and HEPA filters.

When the air purifier is turned on, it automatically operates in Auto mode. To change the mode:

1. Press the power button to turn the unit on.

2. Press the speed button repeatedly to select your desired fan speed. The settings will cycle in the following order: Auto → 1 → 2 → 3 → ECO.

3. To select Eco mode, keep pressing the speed button until the Eco mode indicator is on.

Auto mode: This mode is recommended for general users. It automatically optimizes the fan speed setting (1 through 3) based on the level of indoor air quality detected by the dust sensor.

Eco mode: This is an energy-saving feature. When no pollution is detected for 30 minutes, the fan will automatically stop to save energy. This feature helps cut down electricity costs.

The Timer feature instructs the air purifier to automatically power off after a set time.

To activate the timer, press the Timer button repeatedly to cycle through the available times: 1H → 4H → 8H.

To deactivate the timer, press the Timer button until the indicator light is no longer lit (after the 8H setting).

If the pollution level stays at the highest level after 2 hours or at the lowest level for more than 1 hour when the air does not seem clean, you can adjust the sensor sensitivity. The default setting is Standard.

1. While the air purifier is on, press the airflow Speed button and the Ionizer button simultaneously for 2 seconds.

2. The speed indicator will flash at 1.0 second intervals with a beep to show the current sensor sensitivity.

3. Adjust the sensitivity by pressing the Speed button. The speed indicator will blink to show the selected sensitivity: Speed step 1 (Sensitive), Speed step 2 (Standard), Speed step 3 (Insensitive).

4. To save the new setting, press the airflow Speed button and the Ionizer button again for 2 seconds. The air purifier will then resume normal operations.

The new setting will also be applied if no button is pressed for 10 seconds.

The air quality sensor should be cleaned every 2 months for optimal performance. Without regular cleaning, the sensor’s performance deteriorates.

1. Always unplug the air purifier before cleaning.

2. Open the air quality sensor cover on the right-hand side of the product.

3. Clean the air inlet and outlet vent and the air quality sensor with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.

4. Wet a cotton swab lightly and clean the lens, dust inlet, and dust outlet.

5. Use a dry cotton swab to remove any remaining moisture.

Always unplug the air purifier before cleaning. Do not use detergents with organic solvents, bleach, chlorine, or abrasives. Never put the air purifier in water or spray water directly on it.

Air Inlet and Outlet (every 2 months):

Clean the air inlet and outlet with a soft brush. Exercise caution to not let dust fall inside the air purifier.

Front Cover:

Separate the front cover from the product and remove dust with a soft dry brush or cloth. If contamination is serious, use a lightly wet cloth but do not use abrasives.

Product Body (every 2-4 weeks):

Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the product body. If contamination is serious, use a lightly wet cloth but do not use abrasives.

The reusable Pre-filter should be cleaned every 2 to 4 weeks. Always unplug the product before cleaning the filter.

1. Open the front cover by pulling out the top part of it.

2. Press down on the top clip of the Pre-filter and pull it out. Remove it carefully to prevent dust from falling off.

3. Clean the Pre-filter with a vacuum cleaner or with water, depending on the level of contamination.

4. If you used water, ensure the Pre-filter is completely dry before reinstalling it. Install the Pre-filter and then fit the front cover back to the product, making sure to fit it in the hook correctly.

The recommended cycles are based on 8-hour use in maximum air speed and may differ depending on the operating environment.

When a filter needs to be replaced, the corresponding reset indicator will blink (Odor LED for Deodorization Filter, HEPA LED for True HEPA filter). After replacing the required filter, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the unit is on.

2. Push the Filter Reset button for 2 seconds.

The indicator light will turn off, and the timer for that filter will be reset.

If you replace a filter before the replacement indicator light comes on, you can manually reset its cycle back to the factory default setting.

1. When the reset function is not activated, press and hold the Filter Reset button for 2 seconds.

2. Press the reset button to select the desired filter to forcibly reset:

• Press once: Odor LED (Deodorization Filter)

• Press twice: HEPA LED (True HEPA Filter)

3. After you select the filter to reset, press and hold the reset button for 2 seconds. The accumulated time in the electronic time counter will be erased.

If there is no input for 5 seconds while in forcible reset mode, the mode will be cancelled.

Failing to follow these precautions may result in serious injury or even death.

• Do not use a damaged power plug or loose electric outlet. Connect to a dedicated grounded outlet for 120 V, 60 Hz.

• Do not move the product by pulling only the power cord.

• Do not handle the power plug with wet hands.

• Do not forcefully bend the power cord or place it under a heavy object.

• Do not repeatedly connect and disconnect the power plug.

• If the electrical outlet is wet, carefully unplug the product and let the outlet dry completely before subsequent use.

• Unplug the product before repairing, inspecting, or replacing a part.

• Remove any dust or water from the power plug.

• Do not plug the product into an outlet or power strip being used by several other appliances. Use a dedicated outlet.

• Unplug the system if it is not used for a long time.

• Do not attempt to repair or modify the power cord yourself. If the cord is damaged, call a service center to have it replaced.

• Do not install the product near a heating device or in locations exposed to moisture or water.

• Do not use the product where flammable gases or combustible materials are used or stored.

• Do not insert sharp objects into the Air quality sensor.

• If the product produces a strange noise, burning smell, or smoke, unplug it immediately and call a service center.

• Never place the product in water.

• Do not spray flammable materials near or into the air inlet.

• Do not disassemble, repair, or modify the product at your own discretion.

• Do not place containers with water, medicine, food, metallic objects, or flammable material on top of the product.

• Unplug before cleaning. Do not clean by spraying water directly or using benzene or thinner.

• Do not use the air purifier in an industrial setting where machine oil may be present.

• Do not run the cord under carpeting or cover it with throw rugs. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas where it will not be tripped over.

Failing to follow these precautions may result in considerable physical injury or property damage.

• The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

• Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the air inlet or outlet.

• Do not let children hang on to the product or climb on it.

• When removing the front cover, exercise caution that a part of your body or any object does not become stuck in the top part of the product.

• This appliance has a polarized plug. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

• Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard the fan or return it to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.

• Do not run the cord under carpeting or cover with throw rugs. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas to avoid tripping hazards.

Failing to follow these precautions may result in slight physical injury or property damage.

• Clean the Pre-filter with water regularly and dry it completely before use.

• Unplug or disconnect the appliance from the power supply before servicing.

If no air is blowing from your unit, check the following:

• Is the power cord connected? Connect the power cord to an electric outlet for 120 V~, 60 Hz.

• Is the display part all turned off? Press the power button and then select the desired function.

• Isn’t the power gone out? Use the air purifier after the power comes back on.

• Is the front cover closed? Close the front cover properly.

Check if the unit is in manual mode. The airflow speed will not change automatically if it is not in Auto mode. Set the desired operating mode using the speed button.

This is likely due to the filters. Check if the filter cleaning or replacement time has passed. Check the filter cleaning and replacement cycles, and then clean or replace the filter(s) if necessary.

There could be two reasons for this:

• Dust on the sensor lens: Check if there is dust on the pollution sensor’s lens and clean the lens if necessary.

• Incorrect sensitivity setting: If the pollution level keeps indicating a high level, adjust the sensitivity of the sensor to Insensitive or standard. If it keeps indicating a low level, adjust the sensitivity to sensitive or standard.

If you encounter other functional problems not listed in the troubleshooting guide, check the symptoms, unplug the product, and ask for service.
