How do I install the steering wheel on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
To install the steering wheel on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need a 4mm Allen Head Wrench. Before starting, make sure the front tires are straight and in line with the rear tires. Uninstall the 6 – M5X20 allen bolts and clamp ring from the steering column.
1. Install the center horn in the steering wheel and attach the horn wire (located in the steering column) to the back of the horn.
2. Install the steering wheel with the large open area on the top portion of the steering wheel facing up.
3. Insert and loosely tighten the top and bottom bolts in the steering assembly.
4. Rotate the steering collar (the piece directly behind the steering wheel, on the column) and install allen bolts at the 2 o’clock and 8 o’clock positions through the clamp ring. Note: If these 2 bolts are not installed, the steering collar will rotate freely and the bolts will not be secure.
5. Install the remaining bolts through the clamp ring and tighten all bolts securely.
How do I install the roll cage on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
To install the roll cage on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need an 8mm Allen Head Wrench and a 16mm Socket/Wrench.
1. While on the ground, place the front and rear roll cage boots onto the appropriate bars.
2. With assistance, lift the cage assembly onto the mounting locations. The rear points install through the bars vertically and the front points are side by side.
3. Install the roll cage with the provided hardware. Do not tighten any hardware until all hardware is in place.
• For the front points, use M10X45 Allen head bolts (Fig. #1), M10 Flat Washers (Fig. #17), M10 Lock Washers (Fig. #18), and M10 Cap Nuts (Fig. #12).
• Note: Cap nuts should face the front of the UTV. This will allow the rubber boot to fit properly.
• For the rear points, use M8 Shoulder Bolts (Fig. #2), 2 M10 Concave Washers (Fig. #14), and M8 Shoulder Nuts (Fig. #3).
After all hardware is in place, tighten all bolts and nuts securely.
How do I attach the headrests, seat belts, and seat back on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
To complete this assembly step on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need a 10mm Socket/Wrench, 12mm Socket/Wrench, 14mm Socket/Wrench, and a Phillips screwdriver.
1. Attach the headrests to the roll cage assembly using four M6X15 Screws (Hardware Fig. #10) per side.
2. Attach the back rest to the roll cage using two M6X16 Bolts (Hardware Fig. #6), two M6 Lock Washers (Hardware Fig. #19), and two M6 Flat Washers (Hardware Fig. #16).
3. Attach the rear plastic backing to the rear of the seat back using two M6X20 Screws (outer) and two M6X12 Screws (inner). Note: These M6X20 and M6X12 Screws are already installed on the seat back. They must be removed and reinstalled during this process.
4. Attach the seat belt assembly to the roll cage using one M10 Shoulder Bolt (Hardware Fig. #5) and one M10 Lock Nut (Hardware Fig. #13) per side. Note: Take care in alignment of the seat belt. Make sure it is not twisted prior to installation. The top curved mount should be curving toward the front of the UTV after installation.
How do I install the front bumper on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
For the front bumper installation on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need an 8mm Socket/Wrench, 10mm Socket/Wrench, and a 12mm Socket/Wrench.
1. Install the bumper bars on the inside of both mounting points using one M8X20 Bolt (Hardware Fig. #8) and one M8 Lock Nut (Hardware Fig. #11) per side. Note: The flatter side of the bar should be facing inside. The circular mounting hole on the bar is the bumper side mount. Do not fully tighten bolts until the bumper is mounted.
2. Lift the front bumper assembly into place and attach the vehicle side bumper bar mount with one M10X25 Bolt (Hardware Fig. #4) and one M10 Lock Nut (Hardware Fig. #13) per side. Note: The vehicle side bumper bar should be mounted on the outside. Do not fully tighten until the bottom mounts are secured.
3. Attach the bottom of the bumper assembly with two M10X25 Bolts (Hardware Fig. #4).
4. Tighten the bumper bar bolts and nuts.
5. Attach the wires to the winch. The red wire goes to the top (+) terminal and the black wire goes to the bottom (-) terminal.
6. Plug in the headlight plugs and zip tie the wires to the bumper bars.
How do I install the windshield and mirrors on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
To install the windshield and mirrors on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need a 4mm Allen head wrench and a Phillips screwdriver. Note: Hardware and parts for the windshield are located in the windshield box. Hardware and parts for the mirror are located in the mirror package.
1. Insert Rubber Grommets in all bracket holes in the windshield.
2. Insert Metal Washer Bushings through the top of the rubber bushings.
3. Install the window buckle assemblies using M6 Screws.
4. Install the rubber buckle pads in each of the buckle assemblies.
5. Install the bottom portion of the windshield on the UTV.
6. Install the left and right mirror assemblies at the top portion of the bottom windshield assembly using the provided mirror brackets.
7. After the mirrors are installed, attach the top portion of the windshield to the UTV.
How do I install the battery on my COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550?
To install the battery on your COLEMAN OUTFITTER 550, you will need an 8mm Socket/Wrench and a 10mm Socket/Wrench. Note: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on preparing the battery with fluid before installation.
1. Place the battery in the battery box under the driver side seat area and press the two Rubber Battery Pads (Hardware Fig. #15) into the battery bracket.
2. Secure the battery in place with the battery bracket and two M6X16 Bolts (Hardware Fig. #6).
3. The three red wires attach to the POSITIVE (+) terminal.
WARNING! ALWAYS ATTACH RED POSITIVE (+) WIRES BEFORE BLACK NEGATIVE (-) WIRES TO BATTERY.
4. The three black wires attach to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal.
5. Re-install the battery cover and secure it with M6X20 Wing Bolts (Hardware Fig. #7) and M6 Flat Washers (Hardware Fig. #16).
6. Install M6X20 Wing Bolts (Hardware Fig. #7) and M6 Flat Washers (Hardware Fig. #16) on the passenger side fuel pump cover.
