What are the safety instructions for rack mounting a CISCO 110 Series switch?
The following rack-mount safety instructions should be followed:
A) Elevated Operating Ambient – If installed in a closed or multi-rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.
B) Reduced Air Flow – Installation of the equipment in the rack should be such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised.
C) Mechanical Loading – Mounting of the equipment in the rack should be such that a hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
D) Circuit Overloading – Consideration should be given to the connection of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the circuits might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used when addressing these concerns.
E) Reliable Earthing – Reliable Earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained. Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than direct connections to the branch current (e.g. use of power strips).
How do I install the CISCO SG110D-05 on a flat surface?
To install the CISCO SG110D-05 switch on a flat surface, simply set it on its four rubber pads and place it on the desired surface.
How do I wall-mount the CISCO SG110D-05?
To wall-mount your CISCO SG110D-05 switch, you will need two screws with the following approximate dimensions:
• Head Diameter: 0.3 in / 7.6 mm
• Shaft Diameter: 0.17 in / 4.3 mm
• Length from Head to Tip: 0.6 in / 15.7 mm
Follow these steps to mount the switch:
Step 1: Attach the two screws to the wall. For the CISCO SG110D-05, the screws should be spaced 1.7 inches (43 mm) apart so they line up with the wall-mount slots on the bottom panel of the switch.
Step 2: Maneuver the switch so the screws insert into the two criss-cross wall-mount slots on the bottom of the unit, then slide it into place.

How do I use the Physical Cable Diagnostics feature on the CISCO SG110D-05?
The CISCO SG110D-05 switch has built-in diagnostics to detect cable issues. For best detection accuracy, use a minimum cable length of 10 meters (~30 feet). The diagnostic results are indicated by the port’s LED.
Cable Diagnostic LED Meanings:
• A solid amber LED indicates a physical cable fault or an open end.
• A blinking amber LED indicates a network loop has been detected.
Procedure to check a cable:
STEP 1: Ensure that the switch is powered on.
STEP 2: With the suspected cable connected to a port on the switch, look at that port’s LED. A solid amber LED indicates a cable fault or open end. A blinking amber LED indicates a loop.
