For your safety, read the following pages to become familiar with the infotainment system features. Taking your eyes off the road for extended periods could cause a crash. Do not give extended attention to infotainment tasks while driving.

The infotainment system has built-in features intended to help with this by disabling some functions when driving. A grayed-out function is not available when the vehicle is moving. All functions are available when the vehicle is parked.

Before driving, you should:

Become familiar with the infotainment system operation, buttons on the faceplate, and touch-sensitive screen buttons.

Set up the audio by presetting favorite stations, setting the tone, and adjusting the speakers.

Set up phone numbers in advance so they can be called easily by pressing a single button or using a single voice command for vehicles with phone capability.

The buttons on the faceplate are used to start primary functions. The specific layout depends on whether your vehicle has navigation.

Common Controls (Both Radio Types):

Power/Volume Knob: Press to turn the system on and off. Turn to adjust the volume.

►/II (Play/Pause): Press to start, pause, and resume playback for sources like CD.

Preset Buttons (1-6): Select stored AM, FM, and SiriusXM stations.

TONE: Press to access the sound menu screen to adjust bass, midrange, and treble.

INFO (Information): Press to toggle through an audio or navigation information screen.

CONFIG (Configure): Press to adjust features for radio, navigation, display, phone, vehicle, and time.

AS (Autostore): Searches and stores FM and AM stations with the strongest signal.

FAV (Favorite Pages 1-6): Press to display and scroll through pages of preset stations.

BACK: Press to return to the previous screen in a menu.

MENU/SEL or MENU Knob: Turn to highlight a feature. Press to activate the highlighted feature.

/ (Phone/Mute): Accesses phone functions or mutes the audio.

(Eject): Press to eject a disc from the CD player.

(Previous/Reverse) / (Next/Fast Forward): Press to seek tracks. Press and hold to fast forward or reverse.

Radio with Navigation adds the following:

DEST (Destination): Press to enter a destination or access the Destination Menu.

NAV (Navigation): Press to view the vehicle’s current position on the map screen. Continue pressing to cycle through map views.

RPT NAV (Repeat Navigation): Press to repeat the last voice guidance prompt.

Eight-Way Selector Arrows: Navigates the map when in scroll mode.

HOME: Press to go to the Home Page.

SRCE (Source): Press to change the audio sources.

Depending on your vehicle’s options, some audio and phone functions can be controlled from the steering wheel:

(Push to Talk): Press to interact with Bluetooth or voice recognition.

(Mute/End Call): Press to decline an incoming call, end a current call, or cancel voice recognition. Press to silence the vehicle speakers; press again to turn the sound back on.

▲ SRC ▼ (Thumbwheel Control): Press to select an audio source. Use the thumbwheel to select the next or previous favorite radio station, CD, MP3 track, USB, and Bluetooth Audio track. For Pandora or Stitcher, use it to skip to the next song or show.

+ – (Volume): Press + to increase the volume. Press – to decrease the volume.

The first Home Page can be customized with your preferred screen buttons.

To add or remove screen buttons:

1. Press Menu.

2. Press Customize.

3. Press a screen button to add or remove it from the first Home Page. A checkmark indicates it will be displayed. The maximum number of buttons on Home Page 1 is eight.

4. Press Done.

To move screen buttons:

1. Press Sort.

2. Press an icon to switch its position with another icon on the first Home Page only.

3. Press Done.

To restore Home Page 1 to defaults:

1. Press Menu.

2. Press Restore Home Page Defaults.

3. Press Yes or Cancel.

Playing the Radio

Press the Power/Volume knob to turn the radio on or off. Turn the knob to increase or decrease the volume.

Selecting an Audio Source

Press the SOURCE or SRCE button on the faceplate, or SRC on the steering wheel controls, to display and scroll through the available sources: AM, FM, XM (if equipped), Pandora, Stitcher, CD, USB, AUX, and Bluetooth Audio.

Finding a Station

Turn the MENU/SEL or MENU knob to manually find a radio station.

Seeking a Station

Press the Previous or Next arrow buttons to search for the next available station with a strong signal.

Using Presets

To store a station, tune to the desired station on the AM, FM, or XM main page. Press and hold one of the preset buttons (1-6) at the bottom of the screen. After a few seconds, a beep is heard and the new preset information is displayed.

Up to 36 presets can be stored, and they can be mixed between AM, FM, and XM bands on the same favorite page.

To recall a preset, press the FAV button to scroll through the favorite pages, then press the desired preset button.

To access the tone settings, press the TONE button on the faceplate or the Tone Settings button on the Home Page. Tone settings are specific to each audio source.

To adjust the settings:

Bass: Press + or – to change the level.

Mid (Midrange): Press + or – to change the level.

Treble: Press + or – to change the level.

EQ: Press or turn the MENU/SEL or MENU knob to cycle through the preset EQ options.

Fade: Press the F or R button for more sound from the front or rear speakers.

Balance: Press the L or R button for more sound from the left or right speakers.

RDS features are available for use only on FM stations that broadcast RDS information. This system relies on receiving specific information from these stations and only works when the information is available.

With RDS, the radio can:

Seek to stations broadcasting the selected type of programming.

Receive announcements concerning local and national emergencies.

Display messages from radio stations.

When information is broadcast from the current FM station, the station name or call letters display on the audio screen. RDS can also provide a program type (PTY) and the name of the program being broadcasted.

TuneSelect allows you to save favorite artists and songs. When the radio detects that a saved artist or song is playing on any XM channel, it will alert you and give you the option to tune to that channel. Up to ten artists and songs can be saved.

To store an Artist or Song:

1. While the artist or song is playing on XM, press Menu.

2. Select TuneSelect.

3. Select Save Alert for Artist Playing or Save Alert for Song Playing.

4. Press OK to confirm.

To turn TuneSelect Alerts On or Off:

1. Press Menu when in XM.

2. Select TuneSelect.

3. Select Alerts Active to turn the alerts on or off.

To delete TuneSelect Alerts:

1. Press Menu when in XM.

2. Press Manage TuneSelect.

3. Press Delete Alerts.

4. Select the alert to delete.

5. Press OK to confirm.

The following messages may appear on your screen when listening to SiriusXM radio:

XL (Explicit Language Channels): These stations, or any others, can be blocked by request.

XM Updating: The encryption code in the receiver is being updated. No action is required.

Loading XM: The audio system is acquiring and processing audio and text data. No action is needed.

Channel Off Air: This station is not currently in service.

Channel Unauth: This station is blocked or cannot be received.

Channel Unavailable: This previously assigned station is no longer assigned.

No Artist Info: No artist information is available at this time on this station.

No Title Info: No song title information is available at this time on this station.

No CAT Info: No category information is available at this time on this station.

No Information: No text or informational messages are available at this time on this station.

No XM Signal: The vehicle may be in a location where the signal is being blocked. When the vehicle is moved into an open area, the signal should return.

CAT Not Found: There are no stations available for the selected category.

XM Radio ID: If tuned to station 0, this message alternates with the radio ID label needed to activate the service.

Unknown: If this message is received when tuned to station 0, there could be a receiver fault. Consult with your dealer.

Check Antenna: If this message does not clear, the receiver could have a fault. Consult with your dealer.

XM Not Available: If this message does not clear, the receiver could have a fault. Consult with your dealer.

Pandora is a free Internet radio service. A phone or tablet with an Internet connection and the Pandora application installed is required. Personal cell phone data plans are used.

Launching Pandora:

Connect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the USB port, or connect an Android or BlackBerry through Bluetooth. For first-time use, set up stations in the app before connecting to the vehicle.

To launch, you can either:

Launch the application on the device.

Press the Pandora icon on the Home Page.

Press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel and say “Pandora” or “Tune Pandora.”

Using Pandora Features:

(Thumbs Down): Pandora stores the information, skips to the next track, and will not play that track on this station again.

(Thumbs Up): Pandora stores this information to help choose which tracks to play on this station.

(Next Track): Changes to the next track. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.

►/II (Play/Pause): Pauses or resumes playback.

(Bookmarks): Bookmark the current track or artist.

Unable to Connect Device to Vehicle:

If the device is unable to connect to the USB or Bluetooth:

1. Turn the vehicle off.

2. Remove the key from the ignition.

3. Open and close the driver door, wait about 30 seconds, and try to connect the device again.

Unable to Start Pandora:

If the device is unable to launch Pandora:

Check that the latest version of Pandora is installed.

Check that there is an active account logged into Pandora.

Have at least one station created.

For Android and BlackBerry devices, check that the device is paired with the vehicle, and the Bluetooth icon on the display is highlighted.

For iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad devices, check that the USB cable is connected to the USB port and the screen is unlocked.

Loss of Audio:

Loss of Pandora audio can happen for several reasons:

Weak or lost data connection.

The device needs to be charged.

The application needs to be relaunched.

Connection between the phone and radio was lost.

The volume is too low on the device.

Battery saver or task manager apps on the phone can interfere with Pandora’s function.

Stitcher SmartRadio is an Internet radio service that streams news, sports, and entertainment. A phone or tablet with an Internet connection and the Stitcher application installed is required. Personal cell phone data plans are used. BlackBerry phones are not supported.

Launching Stitcher:

Connect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the USB port, or connect an Android phone through Bluetooth. Set up stations in the app before connecting.

To launch, you can:

Press the application on the device.

Press the Stitcher icon on the Home Page.

Press the Push to Talk button and say “Stitcher” or “Tune Stitcher.”

Using Stitcher Features:

(Favorites): Adds the current show to the favorites station.

(Thumbs Down): Changes to the next show and helps personalize your experience.

(Thumbs Up): Stores this information to help personalize your experience.

(Next Show): Changes to the next show.

Unable to Connect Device to Vehicle:

If the device is unable to connect to the USB or Bluetooth:

1. Turn the vehicle off.

2. Remove the key from the ignition.

3. Open and close the driver door, wait about 30 seconds, and try to connect the device again.

Unable to Start Stitcher:

If the device is unable to launch Stitcher:

Check that the latest version of Stitcher is installed.

Check that there is an active account logged into Stitcher.

For Android devices, check that the device is paired and the Bluetooth icon is highlighted.

For iPhone/iPod touch/iPad, check that the USB cable is connected and the screen is unlocked with the Home Page showing.

Loss of Audio:

Loss of Stitcher audio can happen due to:

Weak or lost data connection.

The device needs to be charged.

The application needs to be relaunched.

Connection between phone and radio is lost.

The volume on the device is too low.

Pictures can only be viewed using USB devices. If pictures are on an SD card, transfer them to a USB device or use a USB-SD adapter. Only jpeg, bmp, gif, and png files are supported. File sizes above approximately four megapixels may not show.

1. Press the Pictures screen button on the Home Page.

2. The system searches for picture folders. A “Please wait” message displays.

3. A list of folders or pictures displays. Select a picture to view.

Once a picture is displayed, the following options are available:

Info: Press to turn file name information on or off.

< : Press to display a previous picture (in manual mode).

► : Press to toggle between slide show mode and manual mode.

> : Press to display the next picture (in manual mode).

(Rotate): Press to manually rotate a picture 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Menu: Press to open Picture Viewer Settings for Slideshow Timer and Shuffle Images.

The CD player can play most audio CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and discs with MP3, unprotected WMA, and AAC formats.

Loading and Ejecting Discs

To load a disc, turn the vehicle on and insert a disc into the slot, right side up. The player will pull it in the rest of the way. The disc automatically plays once loaded.

To eject a disc, press the Eject button. If the disc is not removed within a short period, it is automatically pulled back into the player.

Playing an Audio CD

1. Press the CD screen button on the Home Page or select CD from the source pop-up.

2. Use the radio controls to play the disc:

►/II (Play/Pause): Use to pause or resume play.

(Previous/Reverse): Press to seek to the beginning of the current or previous track. Press and hold to fast reverse.

(Next/Fast Forward): Press to seek to the next track. Press and hold to fast forward.

MENU/SEL or MENU Knob: Turn to select the next or previous track from a list.

You can connect a USB mass storage device, iPod, or iPhone to the USB port in the center console.

Playing from a USB Device

Connect the USB device; it should begin to play automatically. You can also press the Now Playing screen button on the Home Page or press SOURCE/SRCE to select USB. The radio uses Gracenote technology to identify your music and display correct album, artist, genre, and cover art information.

Use the USB Menu to browse your music by Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres, Songs, or Folders.

Playing from an iPod or iPhone

1. Connect one end of the standard USB cable to the device’s dock connector.

2. Connect the other end to the USB port in the center console.

Music information displays on the radio’s display and begins playing. The iPod battery recharges automatically while the vehicle is on. Use the iPod Menu on the screen to browse your music, similar to a USB device.

USB Troubleshooting

If a device is not being recognized or music information is missing, you can restore the radio defaults:

1. Press Config.

2. Press Vehicle Settings.

3. Press Return to Factory Settings.

4. Press Yes.

You will need to pair your phone again, and the USB device will have to be indexed again by the system.

Auxiliary Devices

This vehicle has an auxiliary input jack in the center console. You can connect devices like MP3 players or laptop computers.

1. Connect a 3.5 mm (1/8 in) cable from the auxiliary device to the auxiliary input jack.

2. When a device is connected, the system automatically begins playing audio from it.

3. If another source is active, press SOURCE or SRCE to scroll until the AUX source screen is selected.

Bluetooth Audio

If equipped, music may be played from a paired Bluetooth device.

1. Power on the device, pair it with the vehicle, and connect it.

2. Music can be launched by:

Pressing the Bluetooth Audio screen button on the Home Page.

Pressing SOURCE or SRCE until Bluetooth Audio is selected.

Pressing the SRC button on the steering wheel controls until Bluetooth Audio is selected.

Using voice recognition.

The music can be controlled by either the infotainment controls or the controls on the device itself.

Starting a Route

1. Press the DEST (Destination) button on the faceplate or the Destination icon on the Home Page.

2. Choose a destination entry method, such as Address, POI (Points of Interest), Previous Destinations, or from the Address Book.

3. For an address, enter the state, city, street, and house number.

4. After entering the destination, the system displays a Destination Confirmation screen.

5. Press Start Guidance. The route will be calculated.

Changing the Map View

Press the NAV button on the faceplate repeatedly to cycle through full map and split-screen views. You can also press the map mode icon on the screen to select different views like 2D North Up, 2D Heading Up, or 3D Heading Up.

Adjusting the Map Scale

Turn the MENU/SEL knob clockwise or counterclockwise to zoom in or out. You can also press the Map Scale + or – buttons on the screen.

Canceling a Route

While route guidance is active, access the Route Menu and select Cancel Guidance.

From the Destination Confirmation screen or the active route guidance menu, you can select Route Options to change preferences.

Route Calculation Methods:

Fastest: Calculates for the quickest route.

Shortest: Calculates for the shortest distance.

Eco: Calculates for the most fuel-efficient route based on speed and distance.

Route Preferences (Avoidances):

You can deselect the following options to avoid them when calculating a route:

Use Highways

Use Toll Roads

Use Ferries

Use Tunnels

Use Time Restricted (roads with time-based restrictions)

Use Car Train

Problems with GPS Signal or Vehicle Position

The “No GPS” symbol may appear or the vehicle position on the map may be inaccurate if:

GPS signals are obstructed by tall buildings, tunnels, or large trucks.

Satellites are being repaired.

The vehicle is on winding roads, near a tall building, or has been transferred by a ferry.

The 12-volt battery was disconnected for several days.

To recalibrate the vehicle’s position, park with the vehicle running for two to five minutes in a location with a clear view of the sky.

Problems with Route Guidance

Inappropriate route guidance can occur if:

A turn was not made on the road indicated.

Automatic rerouting is slow during high-speed driving.

The route prohibits entry due to a regulation (e.g., time of day).

The destination is on a new road not yet in the map data.

Using Voice Recognition

1. Press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel. The audio system mutes.

2. A voice prompt will say, “Please say a command.” Wait until the tone is heard before speaking.

3. Clearly speak one of the commands. For example, to tune the radio, say “Tune FM 87.7”.

Helpful Hints for Speaking Commands

Words in parentheses in the command list are optional.

When the command is recognized, the system will either perform the function or ask to confirm.

If the system does not recognize the command, it says “pardon.” Try saying the command again clearly after the tone.

Background noise from fans, open windows, or loud outside noises can cause commands to be misunderstood.

Canceling Voice Recognition

Press the Mute/End Call button on the steering wheel control, or say “Goodbye” or “Cancel.”

Radio Commands

Tune AM/FM/XM (frequency/station number/station name): “Tune FM 99.5” or “Tune XM The Pulse”.

Tune Pandora/Stitcher: “Tune Pandora”.

Thumbs Up/Down: For Pandora or Stitcher.

Phone Commands

Dial or Call (phone number or contact): “Call John at Work” or “Dial 1 248 123 4567”.

Pair or Connect: Begins pairing a device.

Redial: Dials the last phone number called.

My Media Commands (for USB/iPod/iPhone)

Play Artist (artist name): “Play Artist <artist name>”.

Play Album (album title): “Play Album <album title>”.

Play Song (song title): “Play Song <song title>”.

Navigation Commands (after first saying “Navigation”)

Address or Destination: State an address in one shot, e.g., “200 Renaissance Street, Detroit, Michigan”.

Points of Interest or POI: State a point of interest, e.g., “Find nearest gas station”.

Where Am I?: Gives the current position of the vehicle.

A Bluetooth-enabled cell phone must be paired and connected to the vehicle before it can be used for hands-free calling. The pairing process is disabled when the vehicle is moving.

Pairing a Phone Using Infotainment Controls

1. Press the CONFIG button or the / (Phone) button.

2. Select Phone Settings.

3. Select Pair Device (Phone). The radio displays “Please start Bluetooth search on your phone. Confirm or enter number:.” A PIN may be displayed.

4. Start the pairing process on the cell phone you want to pair.

5. Locate and select the device named after the vehicle make and model (e.g., Chevrolet Cruze) in the list on your cell phone.

6. Follow the instructions on the cell phone to enter the PIN provided by the radio, or to confirm that the six-digit code on the radio and phone match.

7. If the phone prompts to accept connection or allow phone book download, select “always accept” and “allow.”

Pairing a Phone Using Voice Recognition

1. Press the Push to Talk button. The system responds “Please Say a Command,” followed by a tone.

2. Say “Pair.” The system responds with “Please search for Bluetooth devices on your phone. Confirm or enter number.”

3. Follow steps 4 through 7 from the method above.

Deleting a Paired Phone

1. Press the CONFIG button.

2. Select Phone Settings.

3. Select Device List.

4. Select the phone to delete and follow the screen prompts.

Accepting or Declining a Call

When an incoming call is received, a ring tone is heard. Press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel to answer, or press the Mute/End Call button to decline.

Making a Call Using the Infotainment Controls

1. Press the / (Phone) button once on the radio or the Phone screen button.

2. To use the phone book, select Phone Book, select the letter group, then select the name and number to call.

3. To dial a number, select Enter Number, enter the phone number using the on-screen keypad, and select OK to start dialing.

Making a Call Using Voice Recognition

1. Press the Push to Talk button.

2. After the tone, say “Dial” or “Call.”

3. Say the entire number without pausing, followed by “Dial.” Or, say the name of a contact in your phone book, such as “Call John at Work.”

Ending a Call

Press the Mute/End Call button on the steering wheel, or select Hang Up on the screen.

These features must be supported on your Bluetooth phone and enabled by your wireless service carrier.

Call Waiting

When you have an incoming call while another call is active:

Press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel to answer the new call. The original call is placed on hold.

Press the Push to Talk button again to return to the original call.

To decline the incoming call, press Decline on the screen.

Switching Between Calls

Turn and press the MENU/SEL knob and select Switch Call on the screen.

Conference Calling (Three-Way Calling)

This feature is only supported when the vehicle is not moving.

1. While in a current call, turn and press the MENU/SEL knob and select Enter Number.

2. Enter the phone number for the second person and select OK.

3. After the second call has been placed, turn the MENU/SEL knob and choose Merge Calls.

4. To add more callers, repeat Steps 1-3. The number of callers is limited by your wireless service carrier.

For vehicles with high gloss surfaces or vehicle displays, use a microfiber cloth to wipe surfaces. Before wiping, use a soft bristle brush to remove any dirt that could scratch the surface. Then, use the microfiber cloth by gently rubbing to clean.

Never use window cleaners or solvents. Periodically hand wash the microfiber cloth separately, using mild soap. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Rinse thoroughly and air dry before next use.

Notice: Do not attach a device with a suction cup to the display. This may cause damage and would not be covered by the warranty.
