Programming with Two Recognized Keys:

To program a new key when you have two existing recognized keys:

1. Insert the first original, already programmed key into the ignition and turn the ignition on.

2. Turn the ignition off, and remove the key.

3. Within five seconds, insert the second original already programmed key into the ignition and turn the ignition on.

4. Turn the ignition off, and remove the key.

5. Insert the new key to be programmed and turn the ignition on within five seconds.

To Open the Tailgate:

6. To make the lap part tight, pull up on the shoulder belt.

Never do the following:

• Never allow the belt to become loose or twisted.

3. While the manual lever is applied, use the gain adjustment buttons to set the gain to a point just below trailer wheel lock-up (indicated by a squeal or tire smoke). If towing a heavy trailer, lock-up may not occur; in this case, set the gain to the highest allowable setting.

4. Readjust the gain anytime vehicle loading, trailer loading, or road surface conditions change.

Follow these steps to inspect or replace the engine air cleaner/filter:

1. Locate the air cleaner/filter assembly on the driver side of the engine compartment.

2. Remove the eight screws on top of the housing cover and lift the cover off.

3. Remove the old engine air cleaner/filter from the housing, being careful to dislodge as little dirt as possible.

4. Clean the sealing surfaces of the housing and cover.

5. Inspect the old filter and install a new one if necessary.

6. Reinstall the filter cover housing and secure it with the eight screws.

7. If equipped with the engine air filter life system, reset the system after replacement.

To get an accurate reading, follow these guidelines:

• Park the vehicle on level ground.

• For the most accurate reading, check the oil level after the engine has been off for at least two hours (cold engine).

• If you cannot wait two hours, the engine must be off for at least 15 minutes if warm, or at least 30 minutes if not warm.

Steps to Check the Oil:

1. Locate the engine oil dipstick handle (it is a loop).

2. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean paper towel or cloth.

3. Push the dipstick back in all the way.

4. Remove it again, keeping the tip down, and check the level.

5. The oil level should be in the cross-hatched area at the tip of the dipstick. If the level is below this area, add 1 L (1 qt) of the recommended oil and recheck the level.

The Engine Oil Life system must be reset to 100% after every oil change.

Method 1: Using Steering Wheel/DIC Controls

1. Display the remaining oil life percentage on the Driver Information Center (DIC).

• Remove the wheel nuts and then remove the flat tire.

3. Installing the Spare Tire:

• Remove any rust or dirt from the wheel bolts and mounting surfaces.

• Install the spare tire.

• Put the wheel nuts back on with the rounded end toward the wheel and tighten them by hand.

• Lower the vehicle completely by turning the wheel wrench counterclockwise.

3. Connect the other end of the red positive (+) cable to the positive (+) terminal of the good battery.

4. Connect one end of the black negative (-) cable to the negative (-) terminal of the good battery.

5. Connect the other end of the black negative (-) cable to the designated negative (-) grounding point on your vehicle, away from the discharged battery.

Starting the Vehicle:

1. Start the engine of the vehicle with the good battery and let it run for a while.

2. Try to start the vehicle with the discharged battery.

Removing the Cables:

Once the vehicle is started, remove the cables in the exact reverse order of connection:

1. Disconnect the black negative (-) cable from your vehicle’s grounding point.

2. Disconnect the black negative (-) cable from the other vehicle.

3. Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from the other vehicle.

4. Disconnect the red positive (+) cable from your vehicle’s positive terminal.

Let the newly started vehicle idle for several minutes.
