How do I set up the CHAMPION 201240 generator before the first use?
Follow these steps to set up your CHAMPION 201240 generator:
1. Attach wheel kit. Refer to Assembly > Install the Wheel Kit in your operator’s manual.
2. Connect the battery. Push the two halves of the battery connector together tightly. Refer to Assembly > Connect the Battery.
3. Add oil. Add the recommended 10W-30 oil, up to 1.2 US qt. (1100 mL). DO NOT overfill. Refer to Assembly > Add Engine Oil.
4. Move the generator outdoors. ONLY USE OUTSIDE AND FAR AWAY FROM WINDOWS, DOORS, AND VENTS.
5. Add fuel. Refer to Assembly > Add Fuel. DO NOT USE E15 OR E85 fuel.
What should I do before starting the CHAMPION 201240 generator?
Before starting the generator, DO NOT plug in any electrical devices. NEVER START OR STOP THE GENERATOR WITH ELECTRICAL DEVICES CONNECTED OR TURNED ON!
