How do I navigate between the different modes?
Press C to change from mode to mode. The watch modes are: Timekeeping Mode, World Time Mode, Alarm Mode, Stopwatch Mode, and Countdown Timer Mode.
How do I illuminate the display?
In any mode (except when a setting screen is on the display), press B to illuminate the display. An LED (light-emitting diode) illuminates the display for easy reading in the dark.
Illumination Precautions:
• The illumination provided by the light may be hard to see when viewed under direct sunlight.
• Illumination automatically turns off whenever an alarm sounds.
• Frequent use of illumination runs down the batteries.
How can I change the display format in the Timekeeping Mode?
In the Timekeeping Mode, you can press D to change the display format between “Day of the Week and Day” and “Hour : Minutes”.
How do I set the digital time and date?
1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down A until the seconds start to flash, which indicates the setting screen.
2. Press C twice to move the flashing to the Home City code setting, and then use D (east) and B (west) to select the code you want. Make sure you select your Home City code before changing any other setting.
3. Press C to move the flashing in the sequence shown below to select the other settings: Seconds -> DST -> Home City Code -> Hour -> Minutes -> Year -> Month -> Day.
4. When the setting you want to change is flashing, use D and B to change it as described in the table below.

5. Press A to exit the setting screen.
• Resetting the seconds only (without changing the DST, Home City code, hour, or minute setting) causes the analog minute hand setting to be adjusted automatically.
• The 12-hour/24-hour timekeeping format you select in the Timekeeping Mode is applied in all modes.
How do I toggle the Daylight Saving Time (DST) setting?
1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down A until the seconds start to flash, which indicates the setting screen.
2. Press C once to display the DST setting screen.
3. Press D to toggle between Daylight Saving Time (ON displayed) and Standard Time (OFF displayed).
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.
• The DST indicator appears on the Timekeeping Mode screen to indicate that Daylight Saving Time is turned on.
How do I adjust the analog time?
Perform the procedure below when the time indicated by the analog hands does not match the time of the digital display.
1. In the Timekeeping Mode, hold down D for about three seconds until the lower right display first shows H-SET and then the current digital time. This is the analog hand adjustment mode.
2. Press D to advance the analog time setting by 20 seconds.
• Holding down D advances the analog time setting at high speed.
• If you need to advance the analog time setting a long way, hold down D until the time starts advancing at high speed, and then press B. This locks the high-speed hand movement, so you can release the button. High-speed hand movement continues until you press any button. It will also stop automatically after the time advances 12 hours or if an alarm (daily alarm, Hourly Time Signal, or countdown beeper) starts to sound.
3. Press A to exit the setting screen.
• The watch will automatically adjust the minute hand slightly to match its internal second count when you exit the setting screen.
How do I view the time in other cities in World Time Mode?
In the World Time Mode, which you enter by pressing C, press D to scroll eastwardly through the city codes. The display will show the current time for the selected city code.
If the current time shown for a city is wrong, it probably means there is a problem with your Timekeeping Mode time and/or Home City code settings. Go to the Timekeeping Mode and make the necessary adjustments.
How do I change between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time for a city in World Time Mode?
1. In the World Time Mode, use D to display the city code whose Standard Time/Daylight Saving Time setting you want to change.
2. Hold down A for about one second to toggle between Daylight Saving Time (DST indicator displayed) and Standard Time (DST indicator not displayed).
• The DST indicator is on the display whenever you display a city code for which Daylight Saving Time is turned on.
• Note that the DST/Standard Time setting affects only the currently displayed city code. Other city codes are not affected.
• You will not be able to change the DST/Standard Time setting of the city code currently selected as your Home City.
• Note that you cannot switch between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time while UTC is selected as the city code.
How do I set the daily alarm?
1. In the Alarm Mode, which you enter by pressing C, hold down A until the hour setting of the alarm time starts to flash, which indicates the setting screen. This operation automatically turns on the alarm.
2. Press C to move the flashing between the hour and minute settings.
3. While a setting is flashing, use D (+) and B (-) to change it.
• When setting the alarm time using the 12-hour format, take care to set the time correctly as a.m. (no indicator) or p.m. (P indicator).
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.
How does the alarm operate?
The alarm sounds at the preset time for about 20 seconds, regardless of the mode the watch is in. Alarm and Hourly Time Signal operations are performed in accordance with the Timekeeping Mode digital time. To stop the alarm tone after it starts to sound, press any button.
How can I test the alarm sound?
In the Alarm Mode, hold down D to sound the alarm.
How do I turn the daily alarm and hourly time signal on and off?
In the Alarm Mode, press D to cycle through the available alarm and hourly time signal combinations as shown below:
• Alarm On / Signal Off
• Alarm Off / Signal On
• Alarm On / Signal On
• Alarm Off / Signal Off
The alarm on indicator and hourly time signal on indicator are shown in all modes. The alarm on indicator flashes while the alarm is sounding.
How do I use the stopwatch?
All of the operations in this section are performed in the Stopwatch Mode, which you enter by pressing C. The stopwatch measures elapsed time, split times, and two finishes.
To measure elapsed time:
Press D (Start) -> Press D (Stop) -> Press D (Re-start) -> Press D (Stop) -> Press A (Clear)
To measure split time:
Press D (Start) -> Press A (Split) -> Press A (Split release) -> Press D (Stop) -> Press A (Clear)
To measure two finishes:
Press D (Start) -> Press A (Split – First runner finishes. Display time of first runner.) -> Press D (Stop – Second runner finishes.) -> Press A (Split release – Display time of second runner.) -> Press A (Clear)
How do I configure the countdown timer?
1. While the countdown start time is on the display in the Countdown Timer Mode, hold down A until the current countdown start time starts to flash, which indicates the setting screen. If the countdown start time is not displayed, use the procedure under “To use the countdown timer” to display it.
2. Press C to move the flashing between the hours and minutes digits.
3. When the setting you want to change is flashing, use D (+) and B (-) to change it. You can set a start time in the range of 1 minute to 24 hours in 1-minute increments.
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.
How do I use the countdown timer?
Press D while in the Countdown Timer Mode to start the countdown timer.
• The countdown timer operation continues even if you exit the Countdown Timer Mode.
• Press D while a countdown operation is in progress to pause it. Press D again to resume the countdown.
• To completely stop a countdown operation, first pause it (by pressing D), and then press A. This returns the countdown time to its starting value.
An alarm sounds when the countdown reaches zero.
How do I turn the button operation tone on or off?
In any Mode (except a setting mode), hold down C for about three seconds to toggle the button operation tone on or off. The tone off indicator is displayed in all modes when the tone is turned off.
Even if you turn off the button operation tone, the alarm, the Hourly Time Signal, and the countdown alarm all operate normally.
What does the graphic area on the display indicate?
The meaning of the graphic that appears depends on the mode.

What are some general operational notes for the watch?
Auto Return Feature:
If you leave a screen with flashing digits on the display for two or three minutes without performing any operation, the watch automatically exits the setting screen.
Scrolling:
The B and D buttons are used in various modes and setting screens to scroll through data on the display. In most cases, holding down these buttons during a scroll operation scrolls through the data at high speed.
Initial Screens:
When you enter the World Time, the data you were viewing when you last exited the mode appears first.
