What items are included with the machine?
The machine includes the following items:
• The main printer unit

How do I prepare the machine for installation?
1. First, ensure you have adequate installation space around the machine for operation and ventilation.
2. Carefully remove all the orange and clear protective tape from the exterior and interior of the machine.
3. Open the various covers and trays to remove all internal packing materials as indicated by the guide’s diagrams.
How do I load paper into the cassette?
1. Pull the paper cassette completely out of the machine.
2. Adjust the paper guides inside the cassette to match the size of the paper you are loading.
3. Fan the stack of paper and then load it into the cassette with the print side facing up.
4. Do not stack the paper above the maximum load line indicated inside the cassette.
5. Gently push the paper cassette back into the machine until it clicks securely into place.
How do I install the toner cartridges?
1. Open the front cover of the machine.
2. Unpack the new toner cartridges for Yellow (Y), Magenta (M), Cyan (C), and Black (K).
3. Gently shake each cartridge back and forth 9-10 times to distribute the toner inside.
4. Insert each toner cartridge into its corresponding color-coded slot until it clicks into place.
5. Once all cartridges are installed, close the front cover.
What are the final physical installation steps?
1. Install any remaining internal components as shown in the guide, such as the waste toner box.
2. In non-English-speaking countries/regions, affix the provided language sticker to the control panel area.
3. If you have optional products like a Cassette Feeding Unit (Unit-AK or Unit-AJ) or a Cassette Module (Module-AE), install them in this step.
How do I connect the cables to the machine?
1. Connect the power cable to the machine’s power inlet and plug the other end into a suitable power outlet.
2. For network or computer connection, connect a LAN cable or a USB cable to the appropriate port on the back of the machine.
3. If your machine is equipped with a fax board, connect the modular (telephone) cable to the designated port.
How do I perform the initial setup for basic functions like copying (CASE 1)?
When you turn the power on for the first time, the “Setup Guide” screen appears. To get started with copying and other limited functions, follow these steps:
1. Language/Keyboard Layout Settings: Select your preferred language and keyboard layout from the list.
2. Paper Size/Type Settings: Configure the settings for the paper you have loaded in the cassettes.
3. On the [Authentication Login] screen, press [Skip] to proceed without administrator login.
4. Gradation Adjustment: Perform the gradation adjustment to ensure optimal print quality.
5. Report Printing: Print a configuration report if desired.
The first setup is now finished. You can now use a limited variety of functions including copying.
How do I perform the full setup to use all functions (CASE 2)?
To use all functions, including printing and sending faxes from a computer, administrator privileges are required. Follow these steps on the “Setup Guide” screen:
1. Language/Keyboard Layout Settings: Select your preferred language and keyboard layout.
2. Paper Size/Type Settings: Configure the settings for the paper you have loaded.
3. Logging In as an Administrator: When prompted, log in as the administrator. The default PIN is “7654321”. For security, it is recommended to change the default PIN.
4. Configure Administrator Settings: Once logged in as the administrator, you are allowed to configure the following settings:
• User Authentication Settings
• Date/Time Settings
• Network Setting (for both wired and wireless LAN connections)
• Fax Settings (only for machines with a fax board)
5. Perform Adjustments and Printing:
• Gradation Adjustment
• Report Printing
6. Install and Configure Software/Services:
• Set up the Network Environment.
• Install the necessary drivers on your computer(s).
• Set up E-mail/I-Fax communication.
• Set up the Advanced Space feature.
After completing these steps, the setup is finished, and you can now use all functions including printing and sending faxes from a computer.
