The BLUSTREAM HEX100CS-KIT is an HDMI 2.0 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 (18Gbps) HDCP 2.2 HDBaseT extender set utilizing CSC technology. Its features include:

Advanced HDBaseT technology offering distribution of video and audio over a single CAT cable.

Supports bi-directional RS-232 pass through.

For optimum performance and safety, follow these guidelines:

Surge protection: Use of surge protection systems is highly recommended to protect sensitive electrical components from electrical spikes, surges, and lightning strikes.

Termination: EIA/TIA-568-B termination (T568B) of cables is recommended for optimal performance.

Interference: To minimize interference, do not run HDBaseT / Cat5e/6/6a cabling in close parallel proximity to mains power cables.

Power Supply: Do not substitute or use any other power supply other than the enclosed unit or a Blustream approved replacement.

Disassembly: Do not disassemble either the Transmission or Receiver units as doing so will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

It is important that the interconnecting CAT cable between the products is terminated using the correct RJ45 pin configuration. The link CAT cable MUST be a “straight” (pin-to-pin) CAT cable and it is advised that this is wired to the T568B wiring standard.

HDMI distribution products will only work if used with CAT5e standard cable or above. A CAT6 cable is recommended for installations, especially when running over longer distances, in areas of high EMI, or with 4K signal distribution.

The T568B RJ45 Pin-Out uses the following pin order (1-8):

1. Orange/White

4. Blue

7. Brown/White

The Receiver features LED indicators to help diagnose connections:

HDMI signal link light: Off when there is no connection with a display/sink.

HDMI link light: On when there is an active connection with a display.

HDBaseT link light (Off): Off when there is no CAT cable or active HDBaseT connection on the RJ45 HDBaseT input.

HDBaseT link light (Blink): Blinks if there is an unstable connection between the Transmitter and Receiver.

HDBaseT link light (Lit): Lit when a CAT cable is connected to the HDBaseT RJ45 output on the Transmitter and an active connection is achieved with the Receiver.

The Transmitter features LED indicators to help diagnose connections:

Input HDMI signal link light: Off when there is no connection with a source device.

Output HDMI signal link light: Off when there is no connection with a display/sink.

Input HDMI link light: On when there is an active connection with a source device.

Output HDMI link light: On when there is an active connection with a display/sink.

HDBaseT link light (Off): Off when there is no CAT cable or active HDBaseT connection on the RJ45 HDBaseT output.

HDBaseT link light (Blink): Blinks if there is an unstable connection between the Transmitter and Receiver.

HDBaseT link light (Lit): Lit when a CAT cable is connected to the HDBaseT RJ45 output on the Transmitter and an active connection is achieved with the Receiver.

EDID settings are achieved using the product dip-switches on the end of the HEX100CS-TX. Position ‘0’ is UP and position ‘1’ is DOWN.

Mode dip-switch settings are used to alter the use of the RS-232 connection on the HDBaseT Receiver. Position ‘0’ is UP and position ‘1’ is DOWN.

Blustream Infrared products are all 5V and are NOT compatible with alternative manufacturers’ Infrared solutions. If using third-party 12V IR control solutions, you must use the optional Blustream IRCAB cable for IR conversion.
