  1. Locate the circular charge port (23) at the bottom of the unit.
  2. Align the circular magnetic charging contact (25) from the charger onto the circular charge port (23).
  3. Plug the charger (24) into an appropriate electrical outlet (120V/60Hz).
  4. The blue LED (27) on the battery charge indicator (4) will flash, indicating that the battery is being charged.
  5. The blue LEDs will illuminate in segments, displaying the state of charge in the battery.
  6. Charging is complete when the blue LEDs (27) turn off.
  7. The unit is fully charged and may be used at this time or left on the charger.
NOTE: From new, the rechargeable cells need a minimum charge time of four hours to ensure full power. Do not charge at ambient temperatures below 39 °F (4 °C) or above 104 °F (40 °C). Use only the supplied charger (S033GU3300100).

How do I charge the battery using the wall mount?

  1. Mark the location for the charging station (22) screw holes on the wall. Ensure it’s at a height that allows the unit to hang without hitting the floor and is within reach of an electrical outlet.
  2. Fix the charging station (22) to the wall using appropriate screws and plugs for the wall type and weight of the appliance.
  3. Slide the circular magnetic charging contact (25) into the charging station (22) as shown in Fig C. Push the release button (26) down, slide the contact (25) into position until the release button pushes back up, locking it. Ensure it is locked before proceeding.
    NOTE: To remove the contact (25), press the release button (26) and slide the contact (25) up and away.
  4. Plug the charger (24) into an appropriate outlet.
  5. Place the vacuum storage slot (38) at the rear of the main unit (28) onto the vacuum storage hook (29) of the charging station (22) as shown in Fig E. Ensure the unit is secure.
  6. The blue LED (27) on the battery charge indicator (4) will flash, indicating charging.

How do I switch the vacuum ON and OFF and select cleaning modes?

  1. To switch ON, push the ON/OFF button (1). The state of charge indicator LEDs will illuminate (Fig. H).
  2. Press the hard floor speed button (2) for cleaning wood, vinyl, or tile floors. NOTE: The rotary brushes of the floor head (14) or powered pet head (20) turn on in both hard floor and carpet modes.
  3. Press the carpet speed button (3) for increased suction power for cleaning carpeted flooring.
  4. To switch OFF, press the ON/OFF button (1) a second time.
  5. Return the product to the charger immediately after use so it will be fully charged and ready for the next use. Ensure the product is fully engaged with the charger plug.

  1. Accessories (16, 17, 19, 20) can be fitted directly to the wall mounted accessory storage and charging station (22) (Fig. J).
  2. Align the top of the accessory with the storage arms on the charging station (22) and slide it on until it locks into position.
NOTE: The accessory storage side arms (38) can be removed from the charging station (22) if space is limited or only one arm is needed. To remove, pull the side arm (38) firmly upwards and away from the station (22). To reconnect, align the arm (38) with the locking holes on the station (22) and press downward until it locks.

How do I empty the dust canister?

IMPORTANT: Maximum dust collection requires clean filters and an empty dust canister. If dust falls back out when switched off, the canister is full. Do not fill beyond the MAX line.
  1. Press the dust canister release button (13) to release the lift-away dust canister (12) from the main unit (28) (Fig. K).
  2. Lift and remove the dust canister (12) from the unit (28).
  3. Hold the canister (12) over a trash can and press the dust canister door release button (11) to empty it (Fig. N).
  4. Empty the contents.
  5. Tap the dust canister (12) as necessary to remove excess dust and debris.

How do I remove and install the pre-filter?

NOTE: The pre-filter (29) fits snugly and may be difficult to remove initially.
  1. Remove the lift-away dust canister (12) from the unit (28) (Fig. K).
  2. While over a trash can, grip the recessed tabs (25) of the pre-filter (29) and pull upwards to remove it along with the cyclones and filter housing (10) (Fig. L).
  3. Shake off or lightly brush any loose dust from the pre-filter.
  4. Install the pre-filter (29) back into the dust canister (12), ensuring the dust canister slot (32) aligns with the recessed tabs (25) (Fig. L).
  5. Install the dust canister (12) back onto the main unit (28) until it clicks firmly into position.

How do I remove and install the foam/felt filter from the filter housing?

NOTE: The filter housing (30) fits snugly in the pre-filter (29) and may be difficult to remove initially.
  1. Remove the lift-away dust canister (12) and then remove the pre-filter assembly (29) from it.
  2. Pull the filter housing (30) from the top of the pre-filter (29) (Fig. L).
  3. Remove the foam/felt filter (31) from the filter housing (30) by pulling on the plastic loop (Fig. M).
  4. Shake off or lightly brush any loose dust.
  5. Install the foam/felt filter (31) back into the filter housing (30).
  6. Press the filter housing (30) into the top of the pre-filter (29) until it sits flush with the edge of the pre-filter seal.

How do I remove and install the exhaust filter?

  1. To remove the exhaust filter (6), press the filter release tab (33) down and slide the filter (6) out and away from the main handle (5) (Fig. O).
  2. While over a trash can, shake off or lightly brush any loose dust from the filter.
  3. To install, slide the cleaned exhaust filter (6) back into the filter cavity below the main handle (5) until it clicks firmly into position.

How do I clean the filters?

NOTE: Filters are reusable. We recommend replacing filters (31, 6) every 6-9 months depending on use. Wash filters regularly with warm, soapy water. Ensure filters are completely dry before reusing. Cleaner filters improve performance. It is very important that filters are completely dry and correctly positioned before use.

Exhaust filter (6):
  1. With the exhaust filter (6) removed, shake off or lightly brush loose dust over a trash can.
  2. For deeper cleaning, you may rinse it with tap water. Do not use soap.
  3. Allow 24 hours to fully dry. Ensure it’s completely dry before reinstalling.
  4. Reinstall the clean, dry filter into the main handle (5) until it clicks.
Canister filters (Pre-filter 29 and Foam/Felt filter 31):
  1. Once filters (29, 31) are removed from the dust canister (12), shake off or lightly brush loose dust from them.
  2. Rinse out the dust canister (12) with warm soapy water.
  3. Wash the foam/felt filter (31) with warm soapy water.
  4. Ensure the foam/felt filter (31) is completely dry before refitting it into the filter housing (30).
  5. Place the clean, dry foam/felt filter (31) inside the filter housing (30), felt side first, then foam side. (NOTE: The white felt side will be visible when looking at the top of the filter housing).
  6. Press the filter housing (30) into the top of the pre-filter (29) until flush with the seal edge.
  7. Insert the pre-filter (29) assembly back into the lift-away dust canister (12) following the installation instructions.

How do I remove and clean the main rotary brush?

WARNING: Disconnect the floor head and extension tube before cleaning.
  1. To remove the rotary brush (34) from the floor head (14), slide the release latch (35) towards the rear of the floor head (Fig. P).
  2. With the rotary brush assembly (36) released, grab and lift it completely out of the floor head (14).
  3. Wipe away any dust or debris on the rotary brush (34).
  4. Pull the rotary brush (34) away from the rotary brush assembly (36) and remove any debris or hair tangled in this area (Fig. Q).
  5. Align the D-shaped slot on the rotary brush (34) with the D-shaped shaft on the rotary brush assembly (36) and press firmly to secure it.
  6. Reinstall the rotary brush assembly (36) into the floor head (14) by aligning the keyed end of the rotary brush (34) with the gear located in the floor head (14) (Fig. R).
  7. Press firmly on the rotary brush assembly (36) to secure it into the floor head (14). Ensure you hear an audible click as the release latch (35) snaps back into its locked position.

How do I change between the main rotary brush and the soft beater bar (BHFEA640WP only)?

WARNING: Soft beater bar (21) is for hard floors only. DO NOT USE on carpet or rugs. Disconnect the floor head and extension tube before changing brushes.
  1. To remove the rotary brush (34) or soft beater bar (21) from the floor head (14), slide the release latch (35) towards the rear of the floor head (Fig. P).
  2. With the rotary brush assembly (36) released, grab and lift it completely out of the floor head (14).
  3. Pull the existing brush (34 or 21) away from the rotary brush assembly (36) (Fig. Q).
  4. (BHFEA640WP only) The soft beater bar (21) can ONLY be used on hard floors. It can be swapped with the rotary brush (34) as needed.
  5. Align the D-shaped slot on the desired brush (34 or 21) with the D-shaped shaft on the rotary brush assembly (36) and press firmly to secure it.
  6. Reinstall the assembly (36) with the new brush (34 or 21) into the floor head (14) by aligning the keyed end of the brush with the gear in the floor head (14) (Fig. R).
  7. Align the squared end of the rotary brush assembly (36) with the square slot on the floor head (14).
  8. Press firmly on the squared end of the assembly (36) as indicated by arrows to secure it into the floor head (14). Ensure you hear an audible click as the release latch (35) snaps into its locked position.

How do I remove and install the edge brushes?

  1. Locate the edge brush screw (37) on the underside of the floor head (14) (Fig. S).
  2. Use a cross-head screwdriver to remove the screw (37) releasing the edge brush (15).
  3. Pull the edge brush (15) away from the floor head (14).
  4. Wipe away any dust or debris from the edge brush area.
  5. Reinstall the edge brush (15) by aligning its shaft into the slot on the side of the floor head (14).
  6. Press the brush (15) firmly into place, install the edge brush screw (37), and use a cross-head screwdriver to tighten the screw.
  7. Gently tug on the edge brush (15) to ensure it is securely in place before using.

How do I remove and clean the Pet Head beater bar (BHFEA640WP only)?

  1. To remove the beater bar (39) from the pet head (20), press the release button (38) as shown in Fig. T.
  2. The beater bar (39) can now be removed. NOTE: The end pieces are also removable for clearing hair or debris.
  3. Wash the beater bar (39) with warm soapy water.
  4. Once the beater bar (39) is clean and completely dry, insert it back into the pet head (20) until it clicks firmly into position.
