What is the Beautiful Tea Chart?

Follow this guide to achieve optimal flavor from different types of tea. Steep Times listed are general and subject to personal preference. Steep times vary due to tea leaf size and bud consistency. Small leaves steep faster than whole buds. To avoid bitterness in a stronger tea, it is best to use more tea, rather than to extend steep time. Taste your tea every 30 seconds and extend steep as needed.

TEMP/ºF TEMP/ºC STEEP TIME
Puer 205 °F 96 °C 3 – 4 minutes
Green Tea 175 °F 80 °C 1 – 3 minutes
Flavored Green Tea 185 °F 85 °C 1 – 3 minutes
Mate Tea 205 °F 96 °C 5 – 6 minutes
Oolong 195 °F 90 °C 3 minutes
Black Tea 212 °F 100 °C 2 – 5 minutes
Flavored Black Tea 212 °F 100 °C 2 – 3 minutes
White Tea 165 °F 74 °C 2 – 5 minutes
Flavored White Tea 175 °F 80 °C 2 – 5 minutes
Rooibos Tea 175 °F 80 °C 5 – 6 minutes
Herbal Tea 212 °F 100 °C 5 – 6 minutes
French Press Coffee 195 – 203 °F 90 – 95 °C 4 – 5 minutes

To change from ºF to ºC, press and hold + and – for 3 seconds.

What is Boil-Dry Protection?

If the Kettle is without sufficient water, or if the water has evaporated, the safety thermostat automatically turns the Kettle OFF. To reset the boil-dry protection device, remove the Kettle from the power base and allow it to cool for at least 15 – 20 seconds before filling with fresh water and positioning on the power base.
