You must read all safety warnings, operating instructions, illustrations, and specifications that come with your AVENIDO AV 6813 hedge trimmer. Failure to follow all instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury. Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference.

1) Workplace Safety

a. Maintain order and good lighting in the workplace. Clutter and poor lighting can cause hazards and accidents.

b. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c. When using power tools, keep children and bystanders away from the work area. Distractions can cause loss of control.

2) Electrical Safety

a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use extension cords with power tools that have a protective earthing conductor.

b. Avoid contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, central heating stoves, and refrigerators. Touching grounded parts increases the risk of electric shock.

c. Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture.

d. Do not abuse the cord. Do not use the cord to carry, pull the power tool, or pull the plug out of the socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.

e. Periodically check the condition of the power cord. If damaged, it should be replaced by a specialist repair shop to avoid a hazard.

f. Do not use the device with a damaged power cord or if it has been dropped, damaged, or does not work properly. Return the damaged device to an appropriate service center for examination or repair.

g. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord intended for outdoor use.

h. For additional protection, it is advisable to install a residual current device (RCD) in the electrical circuit with a rated residual current not exceeding 30 mA.

3) Personal Safety

a. Do not operate a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.

b. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear safety glasses. Using equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip shoes, a hard hat, or hearing protection will improve your comfort and protect you.

c. Avoid unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to the power source.

d. Before starting, remove all unnecessary accessories.

e. Keep a low profile and maintain your balance at all times.

f. Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.

g. If dust extraction and collection facilities are provided, ensure they are connected and used properly.

h. The hedge trimmer is intended for use at ground level, not on ladders or other unstable supports.

i. Ensure that the locks of all moving parts (e.g., extended shaft and rotating shaft), if any, are in the locked position before starting.

j. Do not let routine use lead to careless use and disregard of safety rules.

k. Do not leave the device switched on and unattended.

4) Use and Care of the Power Tool

a. Do not overload the power tool. Use the correct tool for its intended use.

b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on or off.

c. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing parts, or storing the tool.

d. Store unused power tools out of the reach of children and untrained users.

e. Maintain and regularly clean power tools. Check for alignment, jamming of moving parts, cracks in plastic parts, and any other issues that may affect safe operation.

f. Keep cutting blades sharp and clean.

g. Use the power tool and its accessories in accordance with these instructions, considering the working conditions and the type of work.

h. Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

a. Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blades. Do not remove or hold the material being cut while the blades are moving. The blades continue to move after being switched off.

b. Always fit the blade guard when transporting or storing the hedge trimmer. A properly fitted guard reduces the risk of injury. Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the blade stopped and be careful not to operate any of the power switches.

c. When clearing jammed material or servicing the machine, ensure all power switches are off and the power cord is unplugged.

d. Hold the hedge trimmer only by insulated gripping surfaces. Do not allow the blade to contact hidden wiring or the power cord.

e. Keep all power cords and electrical cables away from the cutting area. Make sure cables are not hidden in hedges or bushes.

f. Do not use the hedge trimmer in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of lightning and rain.

g. It is recommended to check hedges and shrubs for the presence of foreign bodies, like wire fences, before use.

The main components of the AVENIDO AV 6813 as shown in figure B are:

The AVENIDO AV 6813 hedge trimmer must only be connected to single-phase AC. Ensure the mains voltage matches the operating voltage on the rating plate.

Connect the power plug to an appropriate extension cord connector. To secure the cord, form a loop, pass it through the hole in the rear handle, and hook it onto the cable holder (7) as shown in Figure C.

To turn on the AVENIDO AV 6813:

Press the on/off switch (5) on the rear handle and the on/off switch (3) on the front handle simultaneously with both hands.

To turn off the AVENIDO AV 6813:

Release one of the switches (5) or (3).

– Before starting, select branches with a diameter larger than 20 mm and cut them with hand pruners.

– A trapezoidal cut is suitable for the natural growth of plants and ensures optimal hedge growth.

– First, cut the sides from the bottom to the top. Then, cut the top to your preferred shape: straight horizontal, roof-shaped, or rounded.

– The safety blade features laterally rounded and offset cutting teeth to reduce injury risk. Additional shock protection prevents uncomfortable kickback from contact with walls or fences.

– If the blades become jammed, immediately turn off the engine, unplug the power cord, and remove the object blocking the blades.

– Caution! Metal obstacles like fences can damage the cutting blades.

– Always hold the extension cord behind your back and start trimming from the point closest to the power outlet. Plan your work direction before starting.

– Before any inspection or maintenance, disconnect the plug from the power source.

– Regularly check the machine before use. Damaged cutting blades must be repaired or replaced by a qualified service technician.

– After each use, clean the cutting blade with a soft brush and a cloth soaked in lubricating oil. Spray the entire parts with a thin layer of liquid protective oil.

– Keep the ventilation slots in the engine housing clean at all times.

– Do not clean or spray the machine with water. Clean the motor housing only with a damp cloth and never use detergents or solvents, as they can destroy the plastic parts. Finally, dry the motor housing thoroughly.

– The device must be stored with the supplied protective cover (9).

– Use only original accessories and spare parts.

– It is recommended to trim deciduous hedges in June and October.

– It is recommended to trim pine hedges in April and August.

When preparing the AVENIDO AV 6813 for transport, you should:

– Before moving the device, turn it off.

– Put the cover on the cutting bar.

– Carry the device by holding the front handle to avoid possible injury.

– Secure the device with transport belts and, if possible, transport it in its original packaging.
