To install the telephone base of your AT&T DLP73510, follow these steps:

1. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into a telephone jack or a DSL filter.

2. If you have DSL high-speed Internet service, a DSL filter (not included) is required.

3. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the back of the telephone base.

4. Plug the power adapter into the power jack on the back of the telephone base.

5. Route the cords through the slots on the base.

6. Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.

To install the battery in your AT&T DLP73510 handset, follow these steps:

1. Plug the battery connector securely into the socket inside the handset’s battery compartment.

2. Place the battery with the “THIS SIDE UP” label facing up and the wires inside the compartment.

3. Slide the battery compartment cover towards the center of the handset until it clicks into place.

To charge the handset, place it in the telephone base or charger. The CHARGE light on the top of the handset will be on during charging. For initial use, charge the handset(s) for 11 hours continuously. A full charge is achieved after 11 hours.

Caution: Use only the supplied rechargeable battery (model BT162342/BT262342) or a replacement battery of the same model.

After you install your AT&T DLP73510 or power returns after an outage, the handset and base will prompt you to set the date and time. To skip this, press OFF/CANCEL on the handset or CANCEL on the base.

Voice guide to set Smart call blocker and answering system:

1. After the date and time setting, the base will prompt you to set up the Smart call blocker. Press MENU/SELECT to start the setup via voice guide. To skip, press CANCEL twice on the base.

2. After the Smart call blocker setup, the base will prompt you to set up the answering system. Press MENU/SELECT to start the setup via voice guide. To skip, press CANCEL on the base.

It is recommended to program your telephone system before use.

You should set the date and time before using the answering system. Use a cordless handset or the telephone base for the following steps:

1. Press MENU, then scroll to “Set date/time” and press SELECT.

2. Enter the month (MM), day (DD), and year (YY), then press SELECT.

3. Enter the hour (HH) and minute (MM).

4. Press the arrow keys to choose AM or PM, then press SELECT to save.

You can follow the voice guide to set up the Smart call blocker on your AT&T DLP73510. Use the telephone base:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Scroll to “Voice guide” and press SELECT.

3. Press 1 if you want to screen home calls with telephone numbers that are not saved in your Directory, Allow list, or Star name list.

4. Press 2 if you do not want to screen calls, and want to allow all incoming calls to get through.

You can follow the voice guide on your AT&T DLP73510 to record your own announcement, set the number of rings, and set the message alert tone. Use the telephone base:

1. Press MENU twice.

2. Scroll to “Voice guide” and press SELECT.

3. Set up the answering system by inputting the designated numbers, as instructed by the voice prompts.

Your AT&T DLP73510 is compatible with Bluetooth version 2.0 or above devices. Bluetooth operates within a short range (up to 30 feet). Keep the connected device within 15 feet of the telephone base for optimal performance.

To pair and connect a cell phone using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Bluetooth”, and press SELECT.

2. Select “Add cellular” and press SELECT.

3. Press SELECT again to turn on the telephone base discoverable mode.

4. Place the cell phone next to the telephone base. Turn on your cell phone’s Bluetooth feature and search for or add new devices. Once your cell phone finds your AT&T phone (AT&T DECT 6.0), press the appropriate key on your cell phone to continue the pairing process.

To pair and connect a headset using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Bluetooth”, and press SELECT.

2. Scroll to “Add headset” and press SELECT.

3. Set your headset to discoverable mode, then press SELECT on the telephone base.

Your outgoing announcement plays when calls are answered by the answering system. You can replace the preset announcement with your own recording.

Using a cordless handset:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Select “Announcement” and press SELECT.

3. Press 7 to record.

4. Speak towards the handset to record your announcement and press 5 to end recording and save it.

Using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU twice.

2. Select “Announcement” and press SELECT.

3. Select “Record annc.” and press SELECT.

4. Speak towards the handset or the telephone base to record your announcement and press 5 to end recording and save it.

You can set the answering system on your AT&T DLP73510 to answer an incoming call after 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 rings. You can also select “toll saver.” With toll saver, the system answers after two rings if you have new messages, or after four rings if there are no new messages.

Using a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Scroll to “Ans sys setup” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to “# of rings” and press SELECT.

4. Scroll to choose among 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or Toll saver, and then press SELECT.

You can set the ringer volume level to one of six levels, or turn the ringer off, for incoming home or cell calls on your AT&T DLP73510.

Set ringer volume for incoming home calls:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Ringers”, and press SELECT.

2. Select “Home volume” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to choose the desired level and press SELECT.

Set ringer volume for incoming cell calls:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Ringers”, and press SELECT.

2. Scroll to select “Cell volume” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to choose the desired level and press SELECT.

To change the LCD display language on your AT&T DLP73510, use a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Settings”, and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT again to select “LCD language”.

3. Scroll to choose English, Français, or Español, and then press SELECT.

Note: If you accidentally change the language, you can reset it to English by pressing MENU on the handset in idle mode and entering *364#, or by pressing MENU on the base in idle mode and entering 364#.

The directory on your AT&T DLP73510 can store up to 1,000 entries, which are shared by all system devices.

Adding an entry to the directory:

Using a cordless handset:

1. Press MENU -> scroll to Directory -> press SELECT.

2. SELECT to select Add new entry.

3. Enter a telephone number up to 30 digits -> press SELECT.

4. Enter a name up to 15 characters -> press SELECT.

Using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU -> scroll to Directory -> press SELECT.

2. Scroll to Add new entry -> press SELECT.

3. Enter a telephone number up to 30 digits -> press SELECT.

4. Enter a name up to 15 characters -> press SELECT.

Searching/dialing an entry:

1. Press DIR on the handset or telephone base in idle mode -> scroll to select the desired directory entry.

2. To call using the home line, press HOME/FLASH on the handset, or press /HOME on the telephone base.

3. To call using the cell line, press CELL on the handset, or press /CELL on the telephone base.

Before downloading a directory to your AT&T DLP73510, make sure your cell phone is paired, active, and connected.

To download a cell phone directory using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU -> scroll to Bluetooth -> press SELECT.

2. Scroll to Download dir -> press SELECT.

3. Press SELECT to start downloading.

You can activate the voice-controlled application (voice app) of your connected cell phone, such as Siri®, Google Now™, or S Voice®, using the handset or telephone base of your AT&T DLP73510.

Compatibility:

Before using the feature, ensure the following:

• Your cell phone is paired and connected via Bluetooth.

• No other Bluetooth applications are running in the background on your cell phone.

• Your cell phone is within 15 feet of the telephone base.

• Your cell phone’s screen is not locked with a passcode for activating the voice app.

• You have turned on or logged in to the applications on your cell phone that you will be using (e.g., GPS, e-mail).

• Your cell phone has a strong data or Wi-Fi signal.

To activate remote voice control:

1. Press VOICE on the handset or base.

-OR-

If you have two connected cell phones, press the scroll keys to select a device.

2. When the telephone plays a confirmation tone, speak toward the handset or base and wait for feedback from your phone’s voice app.

3. Press CANCEL to exit.

Your AT&T DLP73510 supports caller ID service and stores information for the last 50 incoming calls.

Caller ID Announce

When this feature is on, the handset and/or base speaks “Call from…” and the caller’s name. You can turn this feature on or off.

1. Press MENU, scroll to “Caller ID annc”, and press SELECT.

2. Scroll to choose On or Off, and then press SELECT.

Review and Dial a Number in the Call Log

1. Press CID on the handset or telephone base in idle mode, then scroll through the list.

2. To dial with the home line, press HOME/FLASH on the handset or /HOME on the base.

To dial with the cell line, press CELL on the handset or /CELL on the base.

Erase Missed Calls Indicator

When the screen shows “XX Missed calls”, you can either scroll through the call log one by one to clear the indicator, or press and hold OFF/CANCEL on the handset or CANCEL on the base while in idle mode.

The Smart call blocker on your AT&T DLP73510 is set to on by default and allows all incoming calls to ring. The screening feature applies only to incoming home calls.

To turn Smart call blocker on or off:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Press SELECT to choose “SCB On/Off”.

3. Scroll to choose On or Off, then press SELECT.

Notes:

• When on, you can change settings to screen calls from numbers not saved in your directory, allow list, block list, or star name list.

• If you turn it off, all incoming calls will ring, including numbers saved in your block list.

For unknown home calls (calls without numbers, “out of area”, “Private”, or uncategorized calls), you can select one of the following five profile options:

• Screen unknown: The phone plays a screening announcement, asks the caller to say their name, and then rings. You hear the caller’s name and can decide to accept, reject, or forward the call to the answering system.

• Screen robot: The phone plays a screening announcement and asks the caller to press the pound key (#). If they do, the call rings through.

• Allow unknown (default setting): These calls are allowed to get through and ring. The caller’s number is not saved to the allow list.

• Unknown to answering system: These calls are forwarded directly to the answering system without ringing.

• Block unknown: These calls are rejected with a block announcement and do not ring. The caller’s number is not saved to the block list.

Add Numbers from Caller ID Log

1. Press CID on the handset or telephone base and scroll to the desired entry.

2. Press SELECT.

3. Scroll to select “To Block list”, “To Allow list”, or “To Star name list”, then press SELECT.

4. Press SELECT again to confirm.

Add Numbers Manually to the Block List

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Scroll to “Block list” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to “Add new entry” and press SELECT.

4. Enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) and press SELECT.

5. Enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

Add Numbers Manually to the Allow List

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Scroll to “Allow list” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to “Add new entry” and press SELECT.

4. Enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) and press SELECT.

5. Enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

Add a New Name Manually to the Star Name List

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Scroll to “Star name list” and press SELECT.

3. Scroll to “Add new entry” and press SELECT.

4. Enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

You can use one of five profile settings to quickly configure the Smart call blocker on your AT&T DLP73510.

If you select “Screen unknown” or “Screen robot” in the Set profile menu, the AT&T DLP73510 will screen the call before it rings. After the caller responds to the screening, the phone rings, and you can pick up. The system will then announce your options:

• “To answer the call, press 1.”

• “To answer and always allow this number, press 2.” (This adds the number to the allow list).

• “To block this number, press 3.” (This adds the number to the block list).

• “To send this call to the answering system, press 4.”

• “To repeat these options, press *.”

Note: Unknown home calls without caller ID information will not have the options to “answer and always allow” (2) or “to block this number” (3).

If you are on a home or cell call and wish to block the number, you can end the call with a block announcement and add the number to the block list.

1. During the home or cell call, press CALL BLOCK.

2. Press SELECT to end the call. The number will be added to the block list.

If you have added a telephone number to the block list, you can unblock it by following these steps:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Scroll to “Block list” and press SELECT.

3. Press SELECT to select “Review”.

4. Scroll to browse through the block list entries.

5. When the desired entry is displayed, press DELETE, then press SELECT to confirm.

Your AT&T DLP73510 has separate indicators for messages left on its built-in answering system and those left with your telephone service provider’s voicemail. Here are the key differences:

Turn Answering System On or Off

Using a cordless handset:

1. MENU -> Answering sys -> SELECT.

2. Answer on/off -> SELECT.

3. Choose On or Off -> SELECT. The handset shows ANS ON when it’s on.

Using the telephone base:

• Press /ANS ON. The base announces “Calls will be answered” or “Calls will not be answered.”

Message Alert Tone

To have the base beep every 10 seconds when there are new messages:

1. MENU -> Answering sys -> SELECT.

2. Ans sys setup -> SELECT.

3. Msg alert tone -> SELECT.

4. Choose On or Off -> SELECT.

Call Screening

To hear incoming messages over the speaker as they are being recorded:

1. MENU -> Answering sys -> SELECT.

2. Ans sys setup -> SELECT.

3. SELECT to select Call screening.

4. Choose On or Off -> SELECT.

While screening, you can answer the call by pressing HOME/FLASH on the handset or /HOME on the base.

To start message playback:

• Using the telephone base: Press ►/■/PLAY/STOP when the base is in idle mode.

• Using a cordless handset: Press MENU then SELECT when the handset is in idle mode.

The following options are available during playback:

* Operating times vary depending on your actual use and the age of the battery.

Always follow basic safety precautions when using your AT&T DLP73510 to reduce the risk of injury, fire, or electric shock.

• Read and understand all instructions in the user’s manual.

• Avoid using a telephone during a thunderstorm due to the slight chance of electric shock from lightning.

• Do not use a telephone in the vicinity of a gas leak.

• Do not use this product near water (e.g., in a wet basement, shower, or near a swimming pool).

• If the product comes in contact with liquid, unplug it immediately and do not plug it back in until it has dried thoroughly.

• Install this product in a protected location where cords will not be a tripping hazard.

• Replace batteries only as described in your user’s manual. Do not burn or puncture batteries.

• The power adapter is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position.

When using your AT&T DLP73510 cordless telephone, please be aware of the following:

• Privacy: Telephone calls are transmitted between the base and handset by radio waves, so there is a possibility that conversations could be intercepted by radio receiving equipment. Cordless telephone conversations are not as private as those on corded telephones.

• Electrical power: The telephone base must be connected to a working electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch. Calls cannot be made from the handset if the base is unplugged or the power is out.

• Potential TV interference: The telephone operates at frequencies that may cause interference to TVs and VCRs. To minimize this, do not place the telephone base near or on top of a TV or VCR. If interference occurs, moving the telephone farther away will often reduce or eliminate it.

• Rechargeable batteries: Exercise care in handling batteries to avoid creating a short circuit with conductive materials like rings or keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause harm. Observe proper polarity.

• ECO mode: This power-conserving technology reduces power consumption for optimal battery performance and activates automatically when the handset is synchronized with the base.

• Users with implanted cardiac pacemakers: It is recommended to keep wireless telephones at least six inches from the pacemaker, not place the telephone directly over the pacemaker (e.g., in a breast pocket), and use the telephone at the ear opposite the pacemaker.
