What are the general safety instructions for the ASKO HID925MC induction hob?
Before use, read the safety instructions first.
General Safety Instructions:
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not use steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance, as this may result in an electric shock.
• The cooking process has to be supervised. A short term cooking process has to be supervised continuously.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hob surface since they can get hot.
• After use, switch off the hob element by its control and do not rely solely on the pan detector.
Danger of Fire:
• Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.
• Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
Households with Children and People with Special Needs:
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements. Children younger than 8 years of age shall be kept away unless continuously supervised.
Risk of Electric Shock:
• If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.
What is the cooking-time limiter on my ASKO HID925MC?
The cooking-time limiter is a safety function on your ASKO HID925MC that will operate if you forget to switch off your hob. Depending on the power level setting, the cooking zone will automatically switch off after a specific period.
Automatic Switch-off Times for Power Levels:
| Setting | The cooking zone switches off automatically after: |
|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | 9 hours |
| 3, 4 and 5 | 6 hours |
| 6, 7 and 8 | 4 hours |
| 9 | 3 hours |
| 10 | 2 hours |
| 11 and 12 | 1 hour |
The Boost setting will automatically switch to setting 12 after 10 minutes. The cooking-time limiter for a specific cooking zone is reset when you change the cooking level. Note that cooking zone related timers (count-down timers) take priority over the cooking-time limiter.
How do I use the touch controls on my ASKO HID925MC?
• Place the tip of your finger flat on the control to achieve the best results. You do not have to apply any pressure.
• The touch sensors only react to the light pressure of a fingertip. Do not operate the controls with any other objects.
• The cooking hob is operated by a slider. You can either touch the selected part of the slider or slide in a circular motion clockwise to increase or anti-clockwise to decrease the power level and temperature.
• To set the cooking zone power level, touch the desired spot on the slider. As you touch the slider, the selected power level will appear on the cooking zone display unit.
• The selected part of the slider will be fully lit.
How does induction cooking work on the ASKO HID925MC?
A magnetic field is generated in the appliance. By placing a pan with an iron base on a cooking zone, a current is induced in the pan base. This induced current generates heat directly in the base of the pan. This method offers several advantages:
• Easy: The electronic controls are accurate and easy to set. On the lowest setting, you can melt chocolate directly in the pan.
• Fast: Thanks to high power levels, bringing liquid to the boil is very quick.
• Clean: The cooking zones do not get any hotter than the pans themselves, so food spills cannot be burnt onto the cooking zone.
• Safe: The heat is generated in the pan itself. The glass top does not get any warmer than the pan. Once a pan has been removed, the cooking zone cools down quickly.
What is the Power Management system on the ASKO HID925MC?
Your ASKO HID925MC induction hob has a smart power management system that ensures the maximum permissible power is not exceeded for safety. Here is how it works:
• The system automatically distributes power across the zones. This means the hob might automatically decrease the power on one zone when the power level of another zone is increased.
• If the combined power of the zones reaches the maximum available power when a new power level is set, the power levels of one or more zones are automatically reduced. This is indicated by the flashing of the relevant control element.
• If a zone is used for Celsius°Cooking™, that zone always gets the highest priority for power.
• Intervention by the power management system is more likely when the current limiter is set to a lower level.
What types of pans can I use with my ASKO HID925MC induction hob?
Induction cooking requires pans of a particular quality. Use only pans suitable for induction cooking with a thick, flat base (minimum 2.25 mm). Pans that have been used on a gas hob are no longer suitable. You can test if your pans are suitable with a magnet; if the magnet is attracted to the base of the pan, it is suitable.
| Suitable | Unsuitable |
|---|---|
| Special stainless steel pans | Earthenware |
| Class Induction | Stainless steel (non-magnetic) |
| Hard-wearing enamelled pans | Porcelain |
| Enamelled cast-iron pans | Copper |
| Plastic | |
| Aluminium |
Important Notes:
• Be careful with enamelled sheet-steel pans as the enamel may chip if the hob is on a high setting when the pan is dry. The base may also warp due to overheating. Heat enamelled pans slowly.
• Never use pans with a misshapen, hollow, or rounded base. This can interfere with the overheating protection, causing the appliance to become too hot.
• The diameter of the bottom of the pan must be at least 12 cm. For best results, use a pan with the same diameter as the cooking zone.
What are the common noises I might hear from my ASKO HID925MC during operation?
• A ticking sound: This can be caused at lower power level settings or by the automatic pot detection feature.
• Pans making noise: Some pans may make noise during cooking. This is caused by the energy flowing from the hob to the pan and is perfectly normal. It will not damage the pans or the hob.
• The fan is making noise: The appliance is equipped with fans to cool the electronics. During intense use, the fan will activate, and you will hear a buzzing sound. The fan may continue to run for several minutes after the hob has been switched off. This is normal.
What are the recommended power level settings for my ASKO HID925MC?
The following table provides a guideline for power level settings on your ASKO HID925MC. The ideal settings can vary depending on the quantity and composition of the food in the pan.

What is the Move function and how does it work on the ASKO HID925MC?
The Move function allows you to transfer all your current settings (timer, power level) from one cooking zone to another. If you remove a pan from an active cooking zone and place it on a different cooking zone within 6 seconds, you can transfer the settings. To do this, touch the slider of the new cooking zone. The new zone’s display will show the copied settings to indicate this is possible. Once you confirm by touching the slider, the settings are transferred, and the previous cooking zone is deactivated.
How does Automatic Cooking Zone Bridging work on the ASKO HID925MC?
Two adjacent square cooking zones can be merged into a single large cooking zone, which is useful for large or oblong pans. When you switch on the appliance, the pan position recognition is automatically activated. If you place a large pan covering two adjacent bridgeable zones, the hob will recognize its position and automatically connect the zones. The power level will be displayed on both bridged zone displays, but can only be adjusted on the left or upper slider. You can also manually bridge or un-bridge the zones by touching the two corresponding sliders at the same time.
What is Chef mode on the ASKO HID925MC and how do I use it?
Chef mode (available on specific models) divides the hob into three zones with pre-set power levels. When activated, all cooking zones switch on simultaneously:
• All left-hand side cooking zones: Power level 12 is automatically activated.
• All middle cooking zones: Power level 7 is automatically activated.
• All right-hand side cooking zones: Power level 1 is automatically activated.
You can then adjust the power levels to any value as needed. This mode allows you to move pans between zones for different heat levels without adjusting the controls each time. Please lift pans when moving them, do not slide them.
To activate Chef mode: Touch any two sliders at the same time for 3 seconds. All zones must be inactive.
To turn off Chef mode: Tap any two sliders at the same time.
How do I use the Pause function on my ASKO HID925MC?

Switching on the pause:
1. At least one cooking zone must be active.
2. Touch the pause button (II). You will hear a short beep.
3. The settings on all active hobs are reduced to level 2, and all timer functions are paused.
4. All keys are inactive except the pause and on/off keys.
If no key is pressed within 10 minutes, all active hobs will automatically turn off.
Switching off the pause:
Press the pause key again within 10 minutes. The hob will continue to operate with the same settings as before the break, and timers will resume.
What is the Recall function on the ASKO HID925MC?
The Recall function allows you to restore all the settings of the cooking zones if the hob was accidentally switched off. To use this feature, you must switch the hob back on within 6 seconds of it being switched off. After turning it back on, press anywhere on any slider within 6 seconds to recall all the settings from before the appliance was last switched off.
