How do I wire the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
The AOTORO EK51-T20ML is a Through-beam type switch with separate Emitter and Receiver units.
Receiver Wiring (EK51-T20M4):
The receiver has five wires for connection:
Brown: Connect to Power (24-240V AC/DC)
Blue: Connect to Power (24-240V AC/DC)
White: COM (Common contact)
Black: N.O (Normally Open contact)
Gray: N.C (Normally Closed contact)
Emitter Wiring (EK51-T20ML):
The emitter has two wires for connection:
Brown: Connect to Power (24-240V AC/DC)
Blue: Connect to Power (24-240V AC/DC)
What are the “Light ON” and “Dark ON” operation modes for the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
The AOTORO EK51-T20ML has a selectable switch for Light ON and Dark ON modes, which determines how the output (TR output) behaves based on whether the light beam is received or interrupted.
Light ON Mode:
The Operation indicator (LED) is ON when the receiver is receiving light.
The TR output is ON when the receiver is receiving light.
The Operation indicator (LED) is OFF when the light is interrupted.
The TR output is OFF when the light is interrupted.
Dark ON Mode:
The Operation indicator (LED) is OFF when the receiver is receiving light.
The TR output is OFF when the receiver is receiving light.
The Operation indicator (LED) is ON when the light is interrupted.
The TR output is ON when the light is interrupted.
What is the installation and adjustment procedure for the Through-Beam type AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
Follow these steps to install and adjust the Through-Beam type sensor:
1. Install the emitter and the receiver face to face, then supply power to the photoelectric sensor.
2. Set the receiver in the center of the position where its indicator turns on while adjusting the receiver and the emitter right and left, and up and down.
3. Fix both units tightly after checking that the units detect the target.
What is the installation and sensitivity adjustment procedure for a Diffuse Reflective type AOTORO EK51 sensor?
Follow these steps to install and adjust a Diffuse Reflective type sensor:
1. Even if the diffuse reflective type is set at the maximum sensitive position, the sensitivity of the sensor must be adjusted in accordance with the existence of any reflective material in the background.
2. Set the target in the detecting area. Then, turn the sensitivity adjuster down from the maximum position to the point where the indicator just turns on. This is point ①.
3. Take the target out of the sensing area, then turn the adjuster until the point where the indicator turns on. If the indicator does not turn on, the maximum position is point ②.
4. Set the adjuster to the center position between switching point ① and ② for the optimal setting.
Note: The detecting distance indicated in the specification chart is for non-glossy white paper with a target size of 200x200mm.
If the reflectance of the target is higher than non-glossy white paper, it might cause a malfunction due to reflection from the target when it is near the photoelectric sensor. Therefore, ensure enough space between the target and the sensor, or install the target’s surface at an angle of 30 to 45 degrees against the optical axis.
What is the installation and adjustment procedure for a Retroreflective type AOTORO EK51 sensor?
Follow these steps to install and adjust a Retroreflective type sensor:
1. Supply power to the photoelectric sensor after setting the sensor and the mirror (TD-08) to face each other.
2. Set the photoelectric sensor in the position where its indicator turns on by adjusting the mirror or the sensor right and left, and up and down.
3. Fix both units tightly after checking that the unit detects the target.
If you use more than 2 photoelectric sensors in parallel, the space between them should be more than 30cm.
For sensitivity adjustment, please see the procedure for the diffuse reflective type.
What are the main safety precautions when using the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
Please follow these safety precautions for safe operation:
1. Do not use the sensor in an explosive or flammable gas environment.
2. Never disassemble, repair, or tamper with the product.
3. Keep the supply voltage within the specified area.
4. Use the load under the specified area.
Under which environmental conditions should I avoid using the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
Do not use the product under the following conditions:
(1) In places with direct sunlight.
(2) In places where humidity is high and condensation may occur.
(3) In places where corrosive gas exists.
(4) In places where vibration or shock is directly transmitted to the product.
What are the cautions for connecting and mounting the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
Please observe the following cautions during connection and mounting:
(1) Before applying power, be sure that the supply voltage is less than the maximum rated supply voltage.
(2) If the photoelectric switch cable must be laid in a tube or duct with a high-tension or power line, it may cause an induction, possibly resulting in malfunction or damage. In principle, the cable should be laid separately or shielded.
(3) For extending wires, use a wire with a cross-section greater than 0.3sqmm and a length less than 100m.
(4) Do not pull the wire strongly.
(5) Do not apply excessive force (e.g., hitting with a hammer) to the sensors, as this may damage their water-resistance.
What are the power supply considerations for the AOTORO EK51-T20ML?
Switching Regulator:
When using a commercially available switching regulator, be sure to ground the FG (Frame Ground) terminals.
Power Supply Reset Time:
The photoelectric switch will begin sensing no later than 100ms after the power is turned on. If the load and the photoelectric switch are connected to different power supplies, the photoelectric switch must always be turned on first.
Turning Off Power:
When turning off the power, an output pulse may be generated. It is recommended to turn off the power supply of the load or load line first.
