Before using your ALTUS ATL1010W washing machine, please adhere to the following safety precautions:

• Power Connection: Insert the plug into a power socket with a rated voltage of 220-240V A/C. Do not share the socket with other appliances, and do not use a damaged plug or loose socket. The pin of the plug must be kept clean.

• Power Cord Safety: Do not bend, stretch, twist, strap, change, press, or nip the electric cable. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person to avoid hazards.

• Unplugging: Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water when power is cut, when moving or cleaning the machine, or when it is not in use. Do not insert or pull the plug with wet hands.

• Location: Do not install the washing machine in a bathroom or other damp places. Keep the appliance away from direct sunlight and heat sources like heaters.

• Water Temperature: Do not use water hotter than 50°C.

• Water on Controls: Do not wash the machine with water or put wet clothes on the control panel film.

• Carpeted Floors: If the machine is on a carpeted floor, adjust the feet to allow air to circulate freely through the ventilation holes at the bottom.

• Restricted Items: Do not wash waterproof items like raincoats, bike covers, or feather dresses, as this can cause abnormal vibrations. Garments that have been in contact with volatile petroleum products (like petroleum, thinner, or benzene) should not be machine washed.

• Foreign Objects: Do not place hard, sharp objects like coins, safety pins, nails, screws, or stones into the machine, as they can cause extensive damage.

• Child Safety: Do not put hands into the working machine. Supervise children to ensure they do not play with or climb on the appliance.

• Overloading: Do not overload the appliance or place hot items (like a kettle with hot water) on it.

• Modifications: It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way.

• Washing Preparation: Before washing, ensure the tap is open and the inlet hose is installed properly. It is suggested to use low-foam washing powder.

Unpacking the Machine:

1. Unpack the carton and take out the bottom cover.

2. Open the top lid and take out all of the accessories.

3. Remove all wrappers, including the polystyrene base. It is advised to keep all packaging in case the machine needs to be transported again.

Installing the Bottom Cover:

1. Incline the back of the washing machine forward.

2. With the sticker side facing the back of the machine, insert the bottom cover into the base, following the direction of the arrow.

3. Use scissors to remove the two fixing clamps. Insert them into the corresponding holes (indicated by black lines) to fix the bottom cover to the base. Do not pull the fixing clamp out after insertion.

Positioning and Leveling the Machine:

1. The distance between the machine and the wall should be more than 50mm. The maximum allowed angle of the machine’s base is 1°.

2. Use a spirit level to check if the machine is level. The water bubble in the balancing apparatus should be within the red circle for it to be horizontal.

3. To adjust, gently lift the adjustable foot, loosen the adjustable nut, and twist the foot to raise or lower it.

4. Once level, fasten the nut to secure the adjustable foot.

5. Re-check the level and repeat the process if necessary.

1. The drain hose must be hung during use. To avoid leakage or the machine stopping, the height of the hose should not exceed 1.2m.

2. You can adjust the elbow bend pipe to change the height of the drain hose as needed.

3. Do not extend the drain hose, as this can prevent proper draining of water.

Tap Selection:

• Use a suitable tap where the front end is longer than 10mm.

• The tap’s exit end face should be flat and smooth. If it is not, file it down to avoid leakage.

• Do not use taps that are not suitable for a secure connection.

Connecting the Hose to the Tap:

1. After installation, swing the inlet hose gently to confirm it is securely fastened.

2. Open the tap and check for any leaks.

3. Ensure the inlet hose is not bent with overstrain.

4. Before every use, check the connection to ensure it is firmly fitted.

Connecting the Hose to the Washing Machine:

1. Do not remove the water absorption cushion from the inlet valve connector. Check if it is dropped or damaged before each use. If it is, contact an Authorised Service Agent.

2. Put the inlet hose nut onto the inlet valve connector on the machine.

3. Fasten the nut securely and swing it gently to confirm it is suitable and does not leak.

Preparation Before Washing:

1. Connect the inlet hose and open the water tap.

2. Ensure the appliance is earthed. Confirm the socket is earthed and insert the power plug. The earth terminal must not be linked to a gas or tap pipeline.

3. Hang up the drain hose properly.

Warning: The temperature of the water should be less than 50°C.

Attention to Clothes:

• Check if there are any special requirements for washing the clothes.

• Empty all pockets of small objects like coins, keys, screws, etc.

• Knot long bands, fasten buttons, and close zippers.

• Do not overload the machine. Load the laundry loosely, alternating large and small items.

• Sort laundry by fabric type, color-fastness, and how dirty it is. Put thin, woolen, and other delicate items into a washing bag.

• Check that the clothes are washable. Wash new colored items separately the first time.

• Immerse non-absorbable clothes by hand before washing.

• Treat difficult stains (fruit, wine, grass, rust) before washing, possibly with a pre-soak product.

• Overturn nap fabric and long floss clothes before putting them in the machine.

• Do not put clothes polluted by chemicals directly into the machine.

• Wash very small items like handkerchiefs, ribbons, or socks in a washing bag or pillowcase.

• The rated capacity of 10.0kg refers to the largest weight of standard clothes under dry conditions. The washing quantity should be lower than the rated capacity.

• The actual washing capacity will be influenced by the thickness, size, and type of clothes.

• To avoid water splashing, do not select a high water level when the load is less than 1.5kg.

Place the required liquid detergent or washing powder in the Detergent box and softener in the Softener box evenly.

How to use softener:

• The machine will automatically add the softener from the softener box to the inner tub during the last rinse process.

How to use bleach:

1. Fill the tub with water to the selected level.

2. Dilute the bleach in a separate container.

3. Pour the diluted bleach slowly into the washing tub.

• Do not use bleach on colored or figured clothes, as they are prone to losing color.

• Do not pour bleach directly onto clothes.

• Please dissolve powder bleach before use.

Alternative ways to use liquid detergent/washing powder:

Dissolve directly in the machine (not for preset programs):

1. Select a low water level.

2. Add the washing powder and run the machine for 30 seconds to dissolve it completely.

3. Put the laundry in and select a suitable water level.

Instant dissolving of washing powder:

1. Prepare warm water (around 30°C) in a container.

2. Pour the powder into the water while stirring to dissolve it fully.

Note: If washing powder is of poor quality or has not been used for a long time, it may block the detergent box. Please clean the detergent box in time.

The control panel allows you to customize your wash cycle. Here is a guide to the main buttons and their functions:

• Power: Press to switch the washing machine to a working or waiting state.

• Start/Pause: After selecting your program and settings, press this button to start the cycle. Press it again to pause the cycle, and press once more to resume.

• Program: Press to select a wash program from Cottons, Heavy, Delicates, Cottons Eco, Quick, Woollens, Baby Care, Daily, Drum Clean, and Air Dry. If no program is selected, it will default to the Cottons program.

• Temp. select: Press to select “HOT”, “COLD”, or “WARM” water for the wash cycle. During the rinse process, it will always use cold water.

• Water level: Press to select the water level. Levels 1-2 are low, 3-6 are middle, and 7-10 are high. If you do not select a water level (and the machine is in FUZZY logic mode), the machine will automatically sense the weight of the clothes and set the water level.

• Wash: In a DIY (Do it yourself) program, you can choose the soak function and wash time. Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to activate the soak function. The default wash time is 15 minutes.

• Rinse: In a DIY program, you can set the number of rinse times. The default setting is 2 times.

• Spin: In a DIY program, you can set the spin time. The default setting is 7 minutes. You can also select a spin-only process by pressing this button at the beginning of the start.

• Preset/Air dry/Speed:

– Preset: At the beginning of a cycle, press this button to set a delay start time from 2-24 hours.

– Air dry: Select the “Air Dry” program first, then press this button to set the air dry time.

– Speed (Inverter Wash/Spin): At the beginning of a “Cottons” or “Heavy” cycle, press the “WATER LEVEL” button and then this “PRESET/AIR DRY/SPEED” button to choose a different washing or spinning speed.

Indicator Light Meanings:

• On (Solid Light): Indicates the selected mode or function.

• Flashing: Indicates the program is currently running.

• Flashing Rapidly: Indicates an abnormal condition or error.

Digital Timer Display:

• “–“: Shown when the machine is on and in Fuzzy logic mode before starting.

• During Delay Start (Preset): Displays the selected delay time in hours.

• During Air Dry: Displays the remaining air dry time in minutes.

• During Washing: Displays the remaining time of the wash cycle in minutes.

• When Trouble Encountered: Displays a trouble code (e.g., E0, E1).

Child Lock Function:

• To set Child Lock, press the “WATER LEVEL” and “PRESET/AIR DRY/SPEED” buttons simultaneously during a cycle. To unlock, press them again.

• When set, all buttons including POWER are locked. If the lid is opened while the machine is working, it will stop and alarm. If the lid is closed within 5 seconds, the alarm stops and the machine resumes. If not closed within 5 seconds, the machine will start draining and the alarm will continue.

Water Recycle Function:

• To set Water Recycle, at the beginning of the start, press “WATER LEVEL” and “PRESET/AIR DRY/SPEED” simultaneously to select the function. This can only be selected when both RINSE and SPIN processes are chosen.

• When set, after the final rinse, the machine will not drain and spin. The SPIN and WATER RECYCLE indicator lights will flash, and an alarm will sound. This allows you to reuse the rinse water. To proceed with draining and spinning, press the START/PAUSE button.

Inverter Washing Function:

• This function is only available for “COTTON” and “HEAVY” programs.

• At the beginning of a cycle, to choose a different washing or spinning speed, first press the “WATER LEVEL” button, then press the “PRESET/AIR DRY/SPEED” button. Press the “PRESET/AIR DRY/SPEED” button again to cycle through the available speeds to suit different clothes.

After Each Use:

• The machine stops automatically and a buzzer will sound. Unplug it and turn off the water taps to prevent leaks.

• Do not keep water in the tub for a long time; drain it right away.

• Put the electric cable and drain hose in order.

• Wipe water from the surface and inside the tub with a soft cloth. Keep the top lid open for a while to prevent mold and smells.

External Cleaning:

• Clean the exterior cabinet with a soft cloth. Do not use cleansers or volatile chemical materials, which can damage plastic parts and the surface.

Cleaning the Magic Lint Filter:

1. Pull out the magic filter from the tub wall.

2. Open the filter box and clean out any lint.

3. Close it and reinstall it in the machine.

4. Check that the lint block part (black rubber) is in good condition.

Cleaning the Inlet Filter Net:

1. Close the water tap and turn on the power switch.

2. Start the machine for 5 seconds to let water from the hose flow into the tub, then cut off the power supply.

3. Pull off the inlet hose from the machine. Remove and clean the inlet valve’s filter net, then reinstall everything.

Winter Maintenance (if water may freeze):

• Take off the water inlet hose and drain all water from the hose and the inner tub.

• If water has frozen, do not operate the machine. Pour 40°C hot water into the tub to submerge the pulsator. After a few minutes, gently rotate the pulsator by hand, then you can operate the machine.

If you experience issues with your ALTUS ATL1010W, please check the following before contacting a technician:

Issue: Control panel has no display.

• Possible Reason: Plug is not inserted tightly; no electricity in the socket; power switch is not turned on; power supply is cut off.

• Solution: Insert the plug tightly. Check the socket or change to another socket. Press the power switch. Check the power supply.

Issue: Inlet hose leaks.

• Possible Reason: Inlet hose connector (at the tap) is not fixed tightly; inlet hose and washing machine connector is loose.

• Solution: Install the inlet hose again. Tighten the connector of the machine.

Issue: It does not drain.

• Possible Reason: Water outlet of drain hose is higher than 1.2m; drain hose is bent or blocked.

• Solution: The height of the drain hose should be less than 1.2m. Straighten or clean the drain hose.

Issue: No inflow of water.

• Possible Reason: No water supply; tap is not open; inlet hose gets blocked.

• Solution: Restart when water supply is resumed. Open the tap. Clean the filter according to “clean inlet gate” instructions.

Issue: Spin stops and water inflow begins during spin program.

• Possible Reason: Clothes load is too large, too small, or the machine is not stable (unbalanced).

• Solution: The machine is adjusting automatically. This is normal behavior as part of the imbalance adjustment function.

Issue: I press the program button to select SPIN, but it does not spin.

• Possible Reason: Top lid was not closed when drain was finished; top lid was open when drain started.

• Solution: Close the top lid.

Issue: The spin is intermittent when the spin cycle starts.

• Possible Reason: The machine is balancing the clothes to reach the best spin effect.

• Solution: This is normal operation.

Issue: On first-time use, some water flows out from the drain hose.

• Possible Reason: This is remaining water from the factory’s testing process.

• Solution: This is normal.

Note: If a fault persists after these checks, please pull out the plug and contact an Authorised Service Agent. It is dangerous to repair this product by yourself.
